SUMMARY:Arkansas Climbers Festival
DESCRIPTION:The goal of this event is to bring together our community to learn new skills in many different areas of Rock Climbing! We will be bringing in experts in their fields to provide high-quality training. \nThe General Admission ticket will include camping and climbing passes to Horseshoe Canyon Ranch\, dinner Saturday night\, and access to all workshops. Special clinics will need to be purchased as an add-on. \nClinics will be broken into morning and afternoon sessions. Space is limited to first come first serve.\nWorkshops are open to all\, and are designed to be informative and fun! Please be sure to register as spots are first come first serve. \nRappelling \nHost: Scott Delvin \nMeet: North Forty Trailhead \nLearn the proper way to Rappel safely in many different environments. \nWilderness First Aid \nHost: Dave Thompson \nMeet: Pavillion \nIt’s so important to learn how to take care of yourself and your partner while in the backcountry. Learn creative ways to safely treat minor injuries and get an injured climber to safety. David has over 10 years experience as an EMT and a climber\, combining both experiences into a unique class. \nLead Fall: Rock Warriors Way\, Falling and Commitment \nHost: Jon Richard \nMeet: North Forty Trailhead \nThis training addresses falling directly to help improve commitment. Students will do progressive falling practice\, followed by movement\, breathing\, resting\, and body/mind awareness exercises. Finally\, students apply everything to a goal route. Students leave understanding how to take appropriate risks and how to commit to those risks. \nMulti Pitch \nHost: Jeremy Collins \nMeet: North Forty Trailhead \nThis class is for those who want to learn how to multi pitch climb. Jeremy has years of experience pacing gear and is excited to share his knowledge. \nIntro to Sport Climbing \nHost: Jason Roy \nMeet: North Forty Trailhead \nIf you are just getting started in the sport of climbing\, this class is for you! Jason has over 20 years of guide experience teaching beginners to safely climb outdoors! \nBoulder Harder \nHost: Nick Chavez \nMeet: Pavillion \nTake your bouldering to the next level with coach Nick! \nApproach to Projecting \nHost: Jordan Fugitt \nMeet: Pavillion \nLearn the do’s and don’ts of getting into the mindset of tackling your next climbing project. \nSingle Pitch Self-Rescue \nHost: Jacob Frears \nMeet: North Forth Trailhead \nIt is best to be prepared for climbing in all situations and in this case learning to safely get back down to the ground by yourself. \nAnchor Cleaning \nHost: Sam Warren \nMeet: North Forth Trailhead \nCleaning anchors is a very important skill in climbing! Practice makes perfect\, so spend an hour learning new way to clean anchors and stay safe! \n\n\n\n\n\n\nSaturday Morning Workshops \n(9:00 AM – 12:00 PM) \nWorkshops are included in General Admission.
