ONE CELEBRATION. A WHOLE YEAR OF IMPACT. \n  \nRide Experience Details: \nWe will have ride leaders for skill levels between Beginner to Advanced. \nIf you’re new to mountain biking OR have never done a fundamentals skills clinic we REQUIRE YOU to start with the WOZ Fundamental Skills Clinic during registration. Regardless of your riding experience we feel taking this skills course from one of our WOZ certified instructors will help improve your riding and create a better riding experience for all. \nWhat do you need to attend the Flagship?  A mountain bike in good working order (contact a local bike shop for a tune up)\, helmet\, closed toe athletic shoes\, flat repair kit\, water and snacks.  We also recommend sunglasses for eye protection and gloves. \n***Ride levels are based on YOUR CURRENT skills and endurance levels *** We want everyone to have the best and safest experience possible so we’ve laid out a “rating” system to help align you with the right ride group. Please review the skills\, endurance\, milage and proposed trails.  Being in the right group makes a better ride for all. \nAt registration first choose your riding and fitness level\, then choose the best description among the groups. Remember if you want to ride with a friend\, register ASAP in the same Level AND Group # to ensure you’ll be in the same group. \nChoose your group: \nFUNDAMENTAL SKILLS CLINIC… this is the starting place\nSelect this group if you have never ridden a mountain bike\,  it’s been a little longer than you would like to admit\, OR you’ve never taken this clinic before….. Welcome!   You have to start somewhere and this is the place!  Even the most advanced riders need to brush up on these essential skills.  This Skills Clinic will cover the fundamental of mountain biking and then you’ll hit the trail for a 2-3 mile ride. \nSkill Level 1 \nSkills you can perform:\nStaying upright while pedaling\nFitness Level- no requirement \nGREEN ….New\nYou’ve ridden on the dirt multiple times now and you are starting to get the hang of things. Ride 5-7 miles.\nSkills you can perform:\nSkill level 2+\nStanding on level pedals in “ready” position comfortably\nGetting comfortable with appropriate gear shifting\nNovice on cornering and berms\nComfortable crossing bridges\nOkay rolling over low roots/rocks and through tight trees\nFitness Level Required 2 \nYou ride 2x a week\nYou can handle non-stop riding for up to an hour on easy terrain\, after that it’s hit or miss.\nYou can climb up Crystal Bridges hill without stopping\, but give me a breather at the top! \nBLUE ….Confident and Fit…. attempting rock gardens\nThe rides are getting longer and the pace quicker.  Getting quicker out of berms you are confident in shifting\, comfortable on single track and open to attempting obstacles.  You’re getting the hang of Coler\, riding most of Slaughter Pen\, and may have ridden Back 40 or at least parts of it. Ride 9-12 miles.\nSkills you can perform:\nSkill Level 3+\nControlled braking\nMust be comfortable cornering and with berms\nBike-body separation are natural\nComfortable with most moderate terrain (steeper\, rockier\, wetter\, etc.)\nConfident with wide switchbacks\nAble to look up the trail and anticipate shifting\, position change\, obstacles\, etc.\nFitness Level 3 \nYou ride 2-3x a week on an average in season week\nYou can climb longer with soft pedaling as a recovery instead of stopping\nYou can ride moderate pace for 2 hours with minimal stops\nMust be able to climb Ozone\nIntermediate skill group: here because you’re still working on upping the mileage and ride time. 15 miles or 3 hours might be my cutoff! \nBLUE +… Confident\, fit and ready for a 3hr ride\nYou’ve been riding for awhile now\, put a lot of time and mileage in to riding confidently and tackling bigger challenges are a regular thing. This easygoing group ride follows the greenway while taking in local art and creative spaces along the way. Enjoy a relaxed pace & connect. \nGravel Rides  – Get out\, explore\, and enjoy the ride! Choose from two group options based on your preferred pace and distance: Relaxed: 10 mph pace\, approximately 15 miles or Faster: 12–13 mph pace\, approximately 20 mi \nYoga – This all-levels yoga session is designed to help you move\, breathe\, and reset. Expect gentle movement\, mindful breathing\, and plenty of good vibes. \nREGISTRATION:  If you have a friend on the same ride level that you want to ride with make sure to register in the same ride level AND same group number (register ASAP to ensure this is possible). We will NOT be able to make any changes to groups unless you need to cancel your registration. This is all to deliver the best possible ride experience for each and every one of you! If you don’t end up riding with your friends\, don’t worry\, you’ll have the opportunity to make new ones and see your other friends at the social afterwards. Win win! \nNot sure which group to join?  A great way to know if you are ready to advance ride levels is if you were able to keep up with the ride leader the entirety of the ride and felt like you could have continued at that pace for more. SUMMARY:Ride the Ravine for Hydrocephalus
DESCRIPTION:This gravel and road cycling event will begin at 8 a.m. on the morning of the famous Battle of the Ravine football game between Henderson State University and Ouachita Baptist University. If you plan to attend the game\, come early and enjoy an awesome ride in Southern Arkansas—you won’t be disappointed. After the ride\, stay for the post ride events which will include food\, drinks\, and entertainment. There will be rest stops on each route. \nThis isn’t a normal road ride and this isn’t a normal gravel ride. This is also not a race! This is a ride for those that love to ride their bicycle on quiet\, low-traffic county roads. \nThere are 4 route options in total.\n3 of the routes will have pavement and gravel.\nFor those pure roadies\, there is 1 route that is all pavement. \n“Groad” refers to a route that has both road (pavement) and gravel.\nGravel + Road = Groad \nThe links to each route is below. \nWe highly recommend downloading the route you plan to ride on your bike computer so you don’t get lost! While we will have the routes marked with signs/arrows\, but it’s always best to have the route on your computer! It’s possible that you may not see a sign! \n  \n35-mile Groad route:\nhttps://www.mapmyride.com/routes/view/6639847977 \n51-mile Groad route:\nhttps://www.mapmyride.com/routes/view/6639863265 \n73-mile Groad route:\nhttps://www.mapmyride.com/routes/view/6651230233 \n33-mile Road route:\nhttps://www.mapmyride.com/routes/view/6651252110 \n***If you’ve only ever ridden road (pavement) and you’re trying to decide if your skinny 25 mm or 28 mm tires would be safe on the gravel\, we do NOT recommend it! You will most likely get a flat! It’s best to ride any dirt and/or gravel roads with at least 35 mm wide TUBELESS tires. However\, even a 35 mm tire is considered skinny these days! Many gravel riders prefer 40+ mm tubeless tires. For the groad routes\, we personally prefer 42-45 mm wide tubeless tires and run fairly low tire pressure: 28-30 psi. So if you don’t have a bicycle that will accommodate a wider tire\, ride the 33-mile road only route.

SUMMARY:22nd Annual Buffalo Headwaters Challenge
DESCRIPTION:The Buffalo Headwaters Challenge presented by Adventure Subaru is a three-day\, all-inclusive\, “off the grid” mountain bike festival. It includes 5 meals\, libations\, primitive tent and RV camping\, live music\, and amazing trails\, highlighted by the annual “Challenge” ride on Saturday\, January 30th\, 2027. The “Challenge” ride consists of a 35-50 mile semi-supported back country mountain bike experience. It’s a ride\, not a race… just finishing is winning. There will be bailout options. \nIMPORTANT! This is our annual fundraiser for the club and goes a long way in providing the needed tools and materials that go into the 10\,000 hours plus volunteers put in each year.
