SUMMARY:Dirt Movement - Hillfolk Hootenanny
DESCRIPTION:The Hillfolk Hootenanny is a weekend-long festival that celebrates our community of dirt. \nOur goal with Dirt Movement events is to create courses and experiences that are shared as much as possible by all participants. It doesn’t matter if you’re running 3 miles or riding 50 miles. We are one community with one purpose—get outside and move. \nA festival celebration of dirt and community. Our goal with Dirt Movement events is to create courses and experiences that are shared\, as much as possible\, for all participants. It doesn’t matter if you’re running 3 miles or riding 50 miles. We are one community with one purpose – get outside and move. \nWhat else do we all have in common? We love to eat (a lot)\, drink (beer or buch)\, and be merry (rock out to local music). \nFormat\nThe Hillfolk Hootenanny is a two-day festival with rides\, runs\, food\, music\, creek swims\, and community! We have built the weekend so that you have multiple opportunities to participate in rides and runs while not missing an opportunity to sit on a log and listen to some live music with a cold beverage in hand. You can choose to participate in one\, two\, or three of the cycling and running events throughout the weekend. You also have the option to skip the bike and runs and just camp out\, listen to music\, and have some great food! \nUnpaved Runs\nThis isn’t your classic race! On Saturday morning\, we host a run on various unpaved surfaces over a number of distances. There may be creek crossings and an obstacle or two in your way\, so be ready. Anything is possible! \nGravel Rides\nThere will be a 15-mile shake-out ride on Saturday afternoon to allow riders to loosen up before taking on Sunday’s epic routes. And we don’t use the word epic lightly – just look at those elevation profiles. Enjoy the climb the locals have lovingly named “Booger Hill”. She’s a beaut. \nArtist Point Climb\nThe Artist Point Climb is one of the unique bike events for the weekend. This 13-mile paved climb takes you up 1\,500 feet to an amazing view of the Ozark Mountains and Lake Fort Smith. This event is part of The Chester Challenge. Participation in the Artist Point Climb is included with registering for any of Sunday’s gravel rides. \nThe Chester Challenge\nThe Chester Challenge is the pinnacle event of the weekend. Anyone who completes a run\, the Artist Point climb\, and a route on Sunday’s gravel day will receive this prestigious award.

SUMMARY:SHAM Mini Series of Cyclocross
DESCRIPTION:Come play bikes with us! \nBut…What is cyclocross anyway?! \nWeellll…it’s kinda like if a road bike and a mountain bike and a cross country running event all got mashed together! \nCyclocross is the best spectator friendly cycling event there is. ‘Cross races are held on short 1.5 to 2 mile laps that will mostly consist of grass and sometimes mud but can include sand\, artificial barriers\, hills\, off camber sections\, forced runs\, and just about any dumb thing we can find in the park to make the race more fun to do but also to watch! We strive to make the race fun for everyone that comes out; from beginners and youth racers to the most experienced elite racers in Arkansas but especially to spectators! SHAM endeavors to make as much of the race course visible from as many spots along the way as possible\, but especially at the start/finish line so you can cheer on  your friends and family and all the other racers out for a fun day in the sun…or mud…or maybe snow…but almost definitely sand and grass! \nSHAM Mini Series of Cyclocross \nDates: October 4th\, 8th and 11th\nVenue: War Memorial Park\, 5511 W Markham St\, Little Rock\, AR 72205 \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDATE AND TIME \n\n\nCATEGORY \n\n\nFIELD \n\n\nDURATION \n\n\nENTRY \n\n\nAWARDS \n\n\n\n\n10/4/25 10 AM \n\n\nCat 4/Novice Men \n\n\n50 \n\n\n40 min \n\n\n$30 prereg\, $35 race day \n\n\nSeries Winner Prizes \n\n\n\n\n10/4/25 10 AM \n\n\nCat 4/Novice Women \n\n\n50 \n\n\n40 min \n\n\n$30 prereg\, $35 race day \n\n\nSeries Winner Prizes \n\n\n\n\n10/4/25 11 AM \n\n\nCat 1/2/3/4 Men \n\n\n50 \n\n\n50 min \n\n\n$30 prereg\, $35 race day \n\n\nSeries Winner Prizes \n\n\n\n\n10/4/25 11 AM \n\n\nCat 1/2/3/4 Women \n\n\n50 \n\n\n50 min \n\n\n$30 prereg\, $35 race day \n\n\nSeries Winner Prizes \n\n\n\n\n10/8/25 5 PM \n\n\nCat 4/Novice Men \n\n\n50 \n\n\n40 min \n\n\n$30 prereg\, $35 race day \n\n\nSeries Winner Prizes \n\n\n\n\n10/8/25 5 PM \n\n\nCat 4/Novice Women \n\n\n50 \n\n\n40 min \n\n\n$30 prereg\, $35 race day \n\n\nSeries Winner Prizes \n\n\n\n\n10/8/25 6 PM \n\n\nCat 1/2/3/4 Men \n\n\n50 \n\n\n50 min \n\n\n$30 prereg\, $35 race day \n\n\nSeries Winner Prizes \n\n\n\n\n10/8/25 6 PM \n\n\nCat 1/2/3/4 Women \n\n\n50 \n\n\n50 min \n\n\n$30 prereg\, $35 race day \n\n\nSeries Winner Prizes \n\n\n\n\n10/11/25 10 AM \n\n\nCat 4/Novice Men \n\n\n50 \n\n\n40 min \n\n\n$30 prereg\, $35 race day \n\n\nSeries Winner Prizes \n\n\n\n\n10/11/25 10 AM \n\n\nCat 4/Novice Women \n\n\n50 \n\n\n40 min \n\n\n$30 prereg\, $35 race day \n\n\nSeries Winner Prizes \n\n\n\n\n10/11/25 11 AM \n\n\nCat 1/2/3/4 Men \n\n\n50 \n\n\n50 min \n\n\n$30 prereg\, $35 race day \n\n\nSeries Winner Prizes \n\n\n\n\n10/11/25 11 AM \n\n\nCat 1/2/3/4 Women \n\n\n50 \n\n\n50 min \n\n\n$30 prereg\, $35 race day \n\n\nSeries Winner Prizes \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSeries Points \n\n\nFirst through Fifth \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n6\, 4\, 3\, 2\, 1 \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDirections: Exit 630 onto University going North. SUMMARY:2025 RAT 1000 and Mini RAT
DESCRIPTION:RAT 1000 Mile Gravel Stage Race\, RAT 1000 Self Supported Group Departure for ITT\, RAT 1000 mile gravel stage party\, Mini RAT & Tiny RAT. Plan to join us because these will be memories that last forever. \nPlease note that the expectation is for all riders to adhere to the Traffic Codes for each state that they ride in at all times. Failure to operate bicycles safely and properly can lead to disqualification. Littering can lead to disqualification. Trespassing can lead to disqualification and might also get you shot. Don’t do any of these things. More details soon! \nPlanned RAT Stage Race/Party Distances (subject to modification). This is for the folks who want to travel as a group and gather together at the same overnight location each night. \nStage 1 Saturday 6am Start from Texarkana\n140 miles\, 2852ft\, ends in Paris \nStage 2 Sunday Start TBD\n127 miles\, 3700ft\, ends in Denison \nStage 3 Monday Start TBD\n141 miles\, 4782ft\, ends in Henrietta \nStage 4 Tuesday Start TBD\n125 miles\, 2330ft\, ends in Vernon \nStage 5 Wednesday Start TBD\n104 miles\, 2417ft\, ends in Childress \nStage 6 Thursday Start TBD (please note\, this could change to Tulia)\n102 miles\, 4511ft\, ends in Silverton (camping only) \nStage 7 Friday Start TBD\n124 miles\, 2188ft\, ends in Vega \nStage 8 Saturday Start TBD\n139 miles\, 3333ft\, ends in Tucumcari \nSelf Supported ITT is essentially “Tour Divide” rules. Riders are only allowed to utilize assistance available to the general public under normal business and agency operating conditions. The clock starts as soon as the rider starts and doesn’t end until the rider finishes. Live tracking is required as well as publicly available tracking logs. Approved assistance exceptions are typically allowed during Group Depart week from approved “Trail Angels”. \nMini RAT is for anyone who wants to follow the RAT route with no expectation of completing the full route. Ride as many (or as few) as fits into your schedule. We have a single weekend route for people who want to pedal back to DFW: Mini RAT Day 1 140 Miles Texarkana to Paris\nMini RAT Day 2 110 miles Paris to Rowlett Train Station. \nThe Tiny RAT is a 150 mile lollipop from Farmersville to Paris and back which primarily utilizes the NETT. Saturday night overnight in Paris is included which offers the opportunity to socialize with the RAT riders as they come into Paris. Please note\, this is not an “easy” ride. 75 miles each day is likely to feel more like 100 on these sections of the NETT. Self navigation capability is EXTREMELY important. We will provide the route but it will not be verified before hand. It is likely that on the fly adjustments to the route may be needed\, particularly in the case of inclement weather.

SUMMARY:Tour de Pumpkin
DESCRIPTION:The 17 mile route will be the same as previous years. An aid station will be available in London at the old City Hall parking lot. \nThe 30 mile route has two deviations from previous years’ route. This year the route will turn left on Whorton Mountain Rd off of Will Baker Rd\, then turn right on Martin Chapel School Rd. This change will bypass a section of hwy 333 and avoid an area known to have aggressive dogs.  A new location for an aid station will be at Martin Chapel. Restrooms will be available. The second deviation is from Mill Creek Rd at East Point Baptist Church. Turn right onto Bailey Loop and follow to the end and turn right onto Mill Creek Rd. This change is to avoid Mill Creek Rd that has seen increased vehicle traffic with no shoulder. \nThis years event is purposefully minimal with no T-shirt and a lower registration fee. Efforts are underway to drastically improve the Tour de Pumpkin event for 2026 through a joint cooperative committee and business sponsorship. The goal is to offer a quality supported event with a post ride meal\, t-shirt\, swag bag\, and improved routes and aid stations. \nStarting at 10 am a balance bike course will be available in Downtown (at Denver and B Street) for children under 8 years old. This is a free course complete with bikes and helmets. \nCostumes are highly encourage for all participants.

SUMMARY:Beast of Burden
DESCRIPTION:Ozark Off-Road Cyclist and the Ozark Trail Runners unite to create the most epic 24 25 hour party you’ve ever experienced. Profits from this “race” will go to continued preservation and trail development on Mt. Kessler. Join us on November 2nd\, Mt. Kessler – Fayetteville\, Arkansas for a full day of partying in the dirt. Individuals or teams will take on the challenge to ride or run from 12pm on Saturday to 12pm on Sunday\, thanks to daylight savings time\, you get an extra hour for free! \nThe “Race” – 24 (+ 1 hour for free) hours of either mtb or trail running madness\, or….BOTH! The team/solo individual with the most laps wins. \nThe Course – The course will be comprised of 2 separate loops\, with participants rotating loops every 6 hours. Runners and riders will be on their own separate loops to minimize congestion. Each loop is roughly 4-6 miles long. One loop is easy\, one loop will have you dreaming cozy warmth of the campfire. \nThe Teams* – Teams must have a team captain (primary contact). Teams are either fully bike or fully run\, or dual sport and comprised of 2-4 participants on the Ultra team or 5-7 participants on the Endurance team (dual sport teams can have up to 8). You choose how much you want to work. Go for the win\, or occasionally exert yourself and spend the rest of the time throwing back Fossil Cove’s tasty beverages. 1 person does 90% of the work or split it evenly. It’s up to you! Each team will receive one timing chip (triathlon style band) that can only be exchanged in the Campout Zone. \nNote that run/ride teams will have 2 timing chips\, one can only used for running and one only for riding. So\, it is possible run/ride teams to have two participants on  the course at one time\, but only one of each discipline. \n*You can also choose to participate solo\, but remember\, no one asked you to do this. \nThe Party – Let’s be honest\, the whole thing is the party\, but since you asked. Dinner and breakfast provided. Trailside Coffee starting at when the bell tolls 12. Bumping tunes. Team Spirit competition.  Fire pits burning through the night and more to come. Also\, Rise Physical Therapy will keeping participants feeling fresh and limber\, while Phat Tire will be keeping them bikes uh’ rollin’\,

SUMMARY:Ouachita Triple Crown
DESCRIPTION:We are rolling out more Type 2 fun. Jackalope is stoked to partner with the city of Hot Springs to keep The Ouachita Triple Crown part of the Gudrun Northwoods Festival. Participants are encouraged to join in on the rest of the Gudrun activities and parties\, it is a great time in the Northwoods! \nThe Ouachita Triple Crown route was first mapped by Kenny Williams in 2019.  He wanted to link together three International Mountain Bike Association (IMBA) Epic Trails into one epic bikepacking route.  When connected by gravel roads\, the Ouachita Trail (OT)\, the Womble Trail\, and the Lake Ouachita Vista Trail (LOViT) create a circle around Lake Ouachita. \nIMBA Epic Trails are the best of the best\, and Arkansas has more of them that any other state.  The Ouachita Mountains\, composed of rocky ridges and narrow\, spring cooled valleys\, is the perfect landscape for an IMBA Epic Trail.  The mountains are wild\, beautiful\, and rugged. \nPARTICIPANTS MUST SIGN UP WITH TRACKLEADERS FOR THE EVENT! \nOctober 1st will be the last day for half refund for anyone that needs to withdraw. An event shirt or requested shirt size will only be promised for participants registered by October 15th. \nHopefully there will not be a goddamned monsoon again this year……………….

SUMMARY:High In The Ozarks
DESCRIPTION:What It Is…\n\n\n\n\nThis is an extreme gravel event that will test your mind\, body\, and soul. You will ride 76 miles and cover 8\,000 feet of vertical gain over remote\, demanding and unforgettable terrain. Unforgettable partly because of relentless climbing but more so because it might be the most beautiful place you’ll ever pedal your bike. \n\n\nWhat It’s Not…\n\n\n\nThis is not a race and it is not a pampered ride. And it’s definitely not flat. We have a safety-first mentality and have coordinated with local EMS providers in case of emergency\, but we will have limited ability to provide on-course services beyond food\, water\, and medical. Your bike and in particular your brake pads\, MUST be in excellent condition. We will have very limited ability to provide sag support so ride within yourself\, stay hydrated\, and plan to finish the day under your own power.
