SUMMARY:Ouachita Triple Crown
DESCRIPTION:We are rolling out more Type 2 fun. Jackalope is stoked to partner with the city of Hot Springs to keep The Ouachita Triple Crown part of the Gudrun Northwoods Festival. Participants are encouraged to join in on the rest of the Gudrun activities and parties\, it is a great time in the Northwoods! \nThe Ouachita Triple Crown route was first mapped by Kenny Williams in 2019.  He wanted to link together three International Mountain Bike Association (IMBA) Epic Trails into one epic bikepacking route.  When connected by gravel roads\, the Ouachita Trail (OT)\, the Womble Trail\, and the Lake Ouachita Vista Trail (LOViT) create a circle around Lake Ouachita. \nIMBA Epic Trails are the best of the best\, and Arkansas has more of them that any other state.  The Ouachita Mountains\, composed of rocky ridges and narrow\, spring cooled valleys\, is the perfect landscape for an IMBA Epic Trail.  The mountains are wild\, beautiful\, and rugged. \nPARTICIPANTS MUST SIGN UP WITH TRACKLEADERS FOR THE EVENT! \nOctober 1st will be the last day for half refund for anyone that needs to withdraw. An event shirt or requested shirt size will only be promised for participants registered by October 15th. \nHopefully there will not be a goddamned monsoon again this year……………….

SUMMARY:High In The Ozarks
DESCRIPTION:What It Is…\n\n\n\n\nThis is an extreme gravel event that will test your mind\, body\, and soul. You will ride 76 miles and cover 8\,000 feet of vertical gain over remote\, demanding and unforgettable terrain. Unforgettable partly because of relentless climbing but more so because it might be the most beautiful place you’ll ever pedal your bike. \n\n\nWhat It’s Not…\n\n\n\nThis is not a race and it is not a pampered ride. And it’s definitely not flat. We have a safety-first mentality and have coordinated with local EMS providers in case of emergency\, but we will have limited ability to provide on-course services beyond food\, water\, and medical. Your bike and in particular your brake pads\, MUST be in excellent condition. We will have very limited ability to provide sag support so ride within yourself\, stay hydrated\, and plan to finish the day under your own power.

SUMMARY:First Sunday Ride
DESCRIPTION:The First Sunday Ride is a simple idea. Frank Webber of Shift Modern Cyclery and Joe Jacobs of ArkansasOutside.com wanted to carve out time each month to enjoy the local trails with friends. Instead of keeping it to themselves\, they decided to open the invite to anyone who wants to join. This is a casual friends ride where new faces are welcome\, good conversations happen\, and the goal is to have fun on the dirt. \nEach month\, riders come together to explore local singletrack\, meet fellow riders\, and get to know the trails that make central Arkansas such a great place to ride. Frank and Joe love seeing new people show up\, so if you are looking for a welcoming group to ride with\, this is your chance. \nThe first ride will meet at the Equestrian Trailhead Parking Lot in Burns Park at 1 pm on Sunday\, December 7\, 2025. If the turnout is large\, riders will split into A\, B\, and C groups so everyone can find the pace and style of ride that fits. Eat before you arrive\, bring your helmet\, and be ready to roll right at 1 pm. \nIf you have not tried the new and rebuilt trails at Burns Park\, this is the perfect time to discover them. If you already know the system\, then you know how much fun is waiting. Come ride\, make new friends\, and start your month with a good time on the trail. \nEach rider is responsible for themselves on this ride.

SUMMARY:Doom
DESCRIPTION:We’ve shifted to the Ouachita National Forest to continue showcasing some of the most rewarding backcountry riding and views in the Natural State. The move brings long stretches of singletrack and true remoteness—entirely new terrain for any previous edition. Hot Springs now serves as the launch and return point\, offering more accessible food\, lodging\, and activities for anyone making the trip. \nWe’re including three distances again: \nOuachita Doom\n325+ Miles | 32k+ Feet of Vert | 110+ Miles Singletrack | 80%+ Unpaved \nA full-scale Ouachita epic. Over 100 miles of singletrack link the Northwoods Trails\, the IMBA Epic Lake Ouachita Vista Trail\, the IMBA Epic Womble\, and long runs of the Ouachita Trail—stitched together with tarmac\, gravel\, doubletrack\, and rugged forest roads. The route grinds to Tall Peak’s old lookout tower and carves through the Flatside Wilderness before closing the loop around Lake Ouachita—a demanding multi-day push stacked with bonus miles and hidden gems. \nThis distance includes a drop-bag option at the end of the Ouachita Trail section before you head into the far-east loop. You’ll access the same drop twice as the route returns to that spot. The plan is to use a box trailer or U-Haul secured with a padlock; the code will be provided before the start. Drop bags must be a sealed 3-Gallon Ziploc bag and can be handed in at check-in before the race. Provide you own bag and contents! \nThere will be one additional neutral aid on course that is shared with the High Watch distance option. Location TBD but you can get context by referring to their route file on shared miles. \nRoute Link \nThe High Watch\n200+ Miles | 16k+ Feet of Vert | 45+ Miles of Singletrack | 65%+ Unpaved \nThis figure-eight route weaves the Northwoods Trails\, the IMBA Epic Lake Ouachita Vista Trail\, and a patchwork of tarmac\, dirt\, and rugged ridgelines into a ride of deliberate contrast. From punchy singletrack to fast backroads and the climb to Tall Peak’s old lookout tower\, every transition feels intentional—each element returning in new form as the route loops back through the Ouachitas to Hot Springs. \nOne neutral aid location on route. Location TBD. \nRoute Link \nLOViT or Leave iT\n116 Miles | 9k+ Feet of Vert | 45+ Miles of Singletrack | 55%+ Unpaved \nThis route traces a compact figure-eight through the Ouachitas\, weaving the Northwoods Trails\, the IMBA Epic Lake Ouachita Vista Trail\, and a mix of tarmac\, dirt\, and rolling backroads into a seamless ride. Every section shifts tempo—from punchy singletrack to fast\, flowing roads—looping through the hills before returning to Hot Springs. \nRoute Link \nBike Choice \nWe recommend a cross-country mountain bike for all three distances. While many modern gravel bikes blur the line into MTB territory\, this event is framed as a mountain-bike effort. Plan on running at least 2.2-inch tires—even if you’re an underbiking champ. \nSimple Schedule below. More details to roll out to signed up participants via email.  \nMarch 12th – The Club House \nCheck-in from 1pm-7pm \nRider Meeting at 7:30pm \nMarch 13th \nLast call check-in 5:00am-5:30am \nBell Ringing Ceremony at 5:55am \nGrand Depart at 6am \nTracking \nTracking is required for all participants and is provided by a third-party service for an additional fee. It’s essential for safety\, and it also allows friends\, family\, fans\, and the event team to follow your progress in real time. We will email with more details as the event date approaches. Expect around $30 for registering your own device (inReach\, SPOT\, etc.) or around $80 for renting one out. \nRefunds \nRefunds are available through February 1\, 2026. You’re welcome to transfer your entry to another rider\, but that process is entirely up to you to arrange. No deferrals to future editions. \nPrice Increases \nThere’s a price increase of $20 on December 1st and another price increase of $15 on January 1st. Sign-up early on!
