SUMMARY:Doom
DESCRIPTION:Welcome to the 4th edition of Ozark Gravel Doom – the premier bikepacking event of Arkansas! \nThis is not for the faint of heart; it’s a proper Ozark backcountry experience. Forest Service and County roads get ROWDY. A hardtail mountain bike with 2.2″ tires or bigger is the general recommendation. If you’re a fan of underbiking\, you won’t be stopped but you’ve been warned. \nResupply runouts are one of the most notable challenges of this event. A combo of limited store hours and tiny “towns” take the logistics to a heightened level. \nBelow are the tentative routes. Changes will be minor if any – water levels can attribute to this. Expect some water crossings no matter what. \nDoom  \nhttps://ridewithgps.com/routes/45392659 \nDespair \nhttps://ridewithgps.com/routes/45393331 \nDismay  \nhttps://ridewithgps.com/routes/48643965 \nThe start/finish venue is Horseshoe Canyon Ranch. Vehicles can be parked here for the entirety of the event and there’s plenty of camping for everyone! Cabins are also available for booking. We blocked off cabins Friday\, Saturday and Sunday night for this event so you’ll have to call to make a reservation. Just mention you’re participating in Doom and they’ll let you book anything that’s still available! Camping is first come\, first serve – but they won’t run out of space. They’re actively working on an additional campground that will have reservable sites as well (2025 TBD). Horseshoe Canyon Ranch day rates\, meal pricing\, and other amenities & activities can be found via the link below. \nhttps://www.horseshoecanyon.com/ \nDoom & Despair riders will be required to carry a tracking device and register via Trackleaders (this happens closer to the event) so please be aware an additional cost will come up apart from this event registration. Renting ends up being around $80 and providing your own ends up being around $30. \nDoom & Despair riders get gremlin bells the morning of the event. These have to be attached to the bike in some form or fashion throughout the ride. \nDismay was added to get more people in on the party! Tracking is optional. \nFull refunds available before March 1st\, 2025; no refunds after that. You may transfer your registration to someone else or you can defer as credit to a future event. \n*This is a self-supported event. You will be given loads of emails as the event date approaches to set you up for success and to answer a lot of commonly asked questions. Despair & Dismay riders will be able to sleep in the backyard of an airbnb being rented in Oark for night one and use the facilities in the house (running water\, toilet\, etc.). If you need to be picked up on route it is your responsibility to figure it out. If it’s an emergency\, we will treat it as an emergency.

SUMMARY:Central Arkansas Cyclocross Series
DESCRIPTION:Welcome to the Central Arkansas Cyclocross Series “CACS”\nThe atmosphere of cyclocross racing is what draws many racers and fans to the sport. Cyclocross is very spectator friendly with the courses set up in local parks\, along with the short races happening at high speeds. Although the racing can be highly competitive on course\, there’s a festival environment outside the course tape. \nWhat is Cyclocross?\nCyclocross combines elements of road cycling\, mountain biking\, and steeplechase. Races are relatively short (20-60 minutes)\, held on 2.5- to 3.5-kilometer closed circuit courses in parks and open spaces. Riders race over varying amounts of pavement\, grass\, dirt\, and sand. \nCan I use a mountain bike or gravel bike for cyclocross? \nAlmost any standard bicycle with two wheels can be used for cyclocross at local cyclocross races. Bicycles with drop handlebars are standard equipment for cyclocross\, but flat bars (with no forward or upward extensions) are allowed. Gravel bikes can be used for cyclocross races\,  Drop handlebars are required at USA Cycling Cyclocross National. \nTire Width Rules for Cyclocross\nThe condensed version is that any tire width is allowed for local USA Cycling-permitted cyclocross races. \nPoints for the Series  \nPoints for each race will be awarded based on how many participants come and race. Winner of the series will be awarded

SUMMARY:CXMas in Little Rock
DESCRIPTION:Come play bikes with us! \nBut…What is cyclocross anyway?! \nWeellll…it’s kinda like if a road bike and a mountain bike and a cross country running event all got mashed together! \nCyclocross is the best spectator friendly cycling event there is. ‘Cross races are held on short 1.5 to 2 mile laps that will mostly consist of grass and sometimes mud but can include sand\, artificial barriers\, hills\, off camber sections\, forced runs\, and just about any dumb thing we can find in the park to make the race more fun to do but also to watch! We strive to make the race fun for everyone that comes out; from beginners and youth racers to the most experienced elite racers in Arkansas but especially to spectators! SHAM endeavors to make as much of the race course visible from as many spots along the way as possible\, but especially at the start/finish line so you can cheer on  your friends and family and all the other racers out for a fun day in the sun…or mud…or maybe snow…but probably mud! \nCXmas in Little Rock\nDate: Saturday\, December 21\, 2024\nVenue: War Memorial Park\, 5101 W Markham St\, Little Rock\, AR 72205 \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTIME \n\n\nCATEGORY \n\n\nFIELD \n\n\nDURATION \n\n\nENTRY \n\n\nAWARDS \n\n\n\n\n10:30 am \n\n\nCat 1/2/3/4/5 Junior Male 15-18 \n\n\n50 \n\n\n30 min \n\n\n$15 prereg\, $20 raceday \n\n\nPrizes/3 \n\n\n\n\n10:30 am \n\n\nCat 1/2/3/4/5 Junior Female 15-18 \n\n\n50 \n\n\n30 min \n\n\n$15 prereg\, $20 raceday \n\n\nPrizes/3 \n\n\n\n\n10:30 am \n\n\nYouth Male 10-14 \n\n\n50 \n\n\n2 laps \n\n\n$15 prereg\, $20 raceday \n\n\nPrizes/3 \n\n\n\n\n10:30 am \n\n\nYouth Female 10-14 \n\n\n50 \n\n\n2 laps \n\n\n$15 prereg\, $20 raceday \n\n\nPrizes/3 \n\n\n\n\n10:30 am \n\n\nSinglespeed Cat 1/2/3/4/5 Male \n\n\n50 \n\n\n30 min \n\n\n$25 prereg\, $30 raceday \n\n\nPrizes/3 \n\n\n\n\n10:30 am \n\n\nSinglespeed Cat 1/2/3/4/5 Female \n\n\n50 \n\n\n30 min \n\n\n$25 prereg\, $30 raceday \n\n\nPrizes/3 \n\n\n\n\n10:30am \n\n\nCat 5 / Novice Male \n\n\n50 \n\n\n30 min \n\n\n$15 prereg\, $20 raceday \n\n\nPrizes/3 \n\n\n\n\n10:30 am \n\n\nCat 5 / Novice Female \n\n\n50 \n\n\n30 min \n\n\n$15 prereg\, $20 raceday \n\n\nPrizes/3 \n\n\n\n\n11:10 am \n\n\nCat 4 / 5 Male \n\n\n50 \n\n\n40 min \n\n\n$25 prereg\, $30 raceday \n\n\nPrizes/3 \n\n\n\n\n11:10 am \n\n\nCat 4 / 5 Female \n\n\n50 \n\n\n40 min \n\n\n$25 prereg\, $30 raceday \n\n\nPrizes/3 \n\n\n\n\n11:10 am \n\n\nMasters Cat 1/2/3/4/5 40-49 and 50+ Male \n\n\n50 \n\n\n40 min \n\n\n$25 prereg\, $30 raceday \n\n\nPrizes/3 \n\n\n\n\n11:10 am \n\n\nMasters Cat 1/2/3/4/5 40-49 and 50+ Female \n\n\n50 \n\n\n40 min \n\n\n$25 prereg\, $30 raceday \n\n\nPrizes/3 \n\n\n\n\n12:00 pm \n\n\nCat 3/4 Female \n\n\n50 \n\n\n50 min \n\n\n$25 prereg\, $30 raceday \n\n\nPrizes/3 \n\n\n\n\n12:00 pm \n\n\nCat 3/4 Male \n\n\n50 \n\n\n50 min \n\n\n$25 prereg\, $30 raceday \n\n\nPrizes/3 \n\n\n\n\n12:00 pm \n\n\nCat 1/2 Female \n\n\n50 \n\n\n50 min \n\n\n$25 prereg\, $30 raceday \n\n\n$50/$40/$30 \n\n\n\n\n12:00 pm \n\n\nCat 1/2 Male \n\n\n50 \n\n\n50 min \n\n\n$25 prereg\, $30 raceday \n\n\n$50/$40/$30 \n\n\n\n\n\n\nDirections: Exit 630 onto University going North. SUMMARY:Central Arkansas Cyclocross - Race 1
DESCRIPTION:Welcome to the Central Arkansas Cyclocross Series “CACS” \nThe atmosphere of cyclocross racing is what draws many racers and fans to the sport. Cyclocross is very spectator friendly with the courses set up in local parks and the short races happening at high speeds. Although the racing can be highly competitive on the course\, there’s a festival environment outside the course tape. \nPoints for the Series\nPoints for each race will be awarded based on how many participants come and the race. The winner of the series will be awarded

SUMMARY:High In The Ozarks
DESCRIPTION:What It Is…\n\n\n\n\nThis is an extreme gravel event that will test your mind\, body\, and soul. You will ride 76 miles and cover 8\,000 feet of vertical gain over remote\, demanding and unforgettable terrain. Unforgettable partly because of relentless climbing but more so because it might be the most beautiful place you’ll ever pedal your bike. \n\n\nWhat It’s Not…\n\n\n\nThis is not a race and it is not a pampered ride. And it’s definitely not flat. We have a safety-first mentality and have coordinated with local EMS providers in case of emergency\, but we will have limited ability to provide on-course services beyond food\, water\, and medical. Your bike and in particular your brake pads\, MUST be in excellent condition. We will have very limited ability to provide sag support so ride within yourself\, stay hydrated\, and plan to finish the day under your own power.

SUMMARY:Ouachita Triple Crown
DESCRIPTION:We are stoked to partner with the city of Hot Springs to make The Ouachita Triple Crown part of the Gudrun Northwoods Festival this year!! Participants are encouraged to join in on the rest of the Gudrun activities and parties\, it is a great time in the Northwoods! \nThe Ouachita Triple Crown route was first mapped by Kenny Williams in 2019.  He wanted to link together three International Mountain Bike Association (IMBA) Epic Trails into one epic bikepacking route.  When connected by gravel roads\, the Ouachita Trail (OT)\, the Womble Trail\, and the Lake Ouachita Vista Trail (LOViT) create a circle around Lake Ouachita. \nIMBA Epic Trails are the best of the best\, and Arkansas has more of them that any other state.  The Ouachita Mountains\, composed of rocky ridges and narrow\, spring cooled valleys\, is the perfect landscape for an IMBA Epic Trail.  The mountains are wild\, beautiful\, and rugged. \nPARTICIPANTS MUST SIGN UP WITH TRACKLEADERS FOR THE EVENT! \nOctober 1st will be the last day for full registration for anyone that needs to withdraw. An event shirt or requested shirt size will only be promised for participants registered by October 20th.

SUMMARY:Beast of Burden
DESCRIPTION:Ozark Off-Road Cyclist and the Ozark Trail Runners unite to create the most epic 24 25 hour party you’ve ever experienced. Profits from this “race” will go to continued preservation and trail development on Mt. Kessler. Join us on November 2nd\, Mt. Kessler – Fayetteville\, Arkansas for a full day of partying in the dirt. Individuals or teams will take on the challenge to ride or run from 12pm on Saturday to 12pm on Sunday\, thanks to daylight savings time\, you get an extra hour for free! \nThe “Race” – 24 (+ 1 hour for free) hours of either mtb or trail running madness\, or….BOTH! The team/solo individual with the most laps wins. \nThe Course – The course will be comprised of 2 separate loops\, with participants rotating loops every 6 hours. Runners and riders will be on their own separate loops to minimize congestion. Each loop is roughly 4-6 miles long. One loop is easy\, one loop will have you dreaming cozy warmth of the campfire. \nThe Teams* – Teams must have a team captain (primary contact). Teams are either fully bike or fully run\, or dual sport and comprised of 2-4 participants on the Ultra team or 5-7 participants on the Endurance team (dual sport teams can have up to 8). You choose how much you want to work. Go for the win\, or occasionally exert yourself and spend the rest of the time throwing back Fossil Cove’s tasty beverages. 1 person does 90% of the work or split it evenly. It’s up to you! Each team will receive one timing chip (triathlon style band) that can only be exchanged in the Campout Zone. \nNote that run/ride teams will have 2 timing chips\, one can only used for running and one only for riding. So\, it is possible run/ride teams to have two participants on the course at one time\, but only one of each discipline. \n*You can also choose to participate solo\, but remember\, no one asked you to do this. \nThe Party – Let’s be honest\, the whole thing is the party\, but since you asked. Dinner and breakfast are provided. Trailside Coffee starts when the bell tolls 12. Bumping tunes. Team Spirit competition.  Fire pits burning through the night and more to come. Also\, Rise Physical Therapy will be keeping participants feeling fresh and limber\, while Phat Tire will be keeping them bikes uh’ rollin’\,

SUMMARY:Newton County Mentality
DESCRIPTION:Imagine descending into one of the most beautiful canyons in Arkansas on a fall afternoon in early November\, the leaves at peak foliage – passing windy ribbons of singletrack\, imposing sandstone walls\, vistas\, and log cabins as you enter the iconic Horseshoe Canyon Ranch. This idyllic gem of the Ozarks will be your home for the next three days. You’ll camp\, hang with your friends\, ride your bike really really hard\, dance your face off\, eat great food\, drink a few beers\, and meander around the canyon chasing down wacky checkpoints in an effort to finish off what you started – a gravel stage farce* we like to call the Newton County Mentality. \n*fake stage race
