DESCRIPTION:CAPITAL CITY ENDURO | OCTOBER 26-27\, 2024 \nShred multiple trail systems throughout Arkansas’ State Capital including the Monument Trails at Pinnacle Mountain State Park – named the 2023 Best Mountain Biking in the U.S. by Outside Magazine. Featuring a collection of world-class trails crafted by some of the world’s best trail builders\, this year’s Capital City Enduro competition will heavily feature the ancient sandstone slopes of Pinnacle Mountain. \nRegistration opens Saturday\, June 1st at 8am with participation based on a first-come\, first-served basis. To create a rewarding enduro race experience\, organizers reserve the right to limit overall event participation. Each participant’s entry includes: \n\nUp to 8 stages and 20 miles of rider-designed racing with dedicated pre-race practice times the day prior to the race.\nSufficiently marked courses with maps emailed to participants the week of the event.\nLively mid-race aid stations with access to professional neutral mechanics and medical support.\nProfessional event timing with accuracy to the 1000th of a second and instant results.\nComplimentary post-race meal and cold beverages (21+ for adult beverages\, ID required) in a family-friendly festival setting.\nAwards ceremony by category with over $2000 in pro payout and prizes awarded 5 deep.\n\nRACE VENUE \nJust west of Arkansas’s capital city of Little Rock\, Pinnacle Mountain stands as the centerpiece of the geographically diverse Pinnacle Mountain State Park. Helmets are required to be worn on course during official event times and we highly suggest a full-face helmet\, knee pads\, and elbow pads. \nTEMPERATURE – In late October\, the temperature in Little Rock typically ranges from 51°F to 69°F and is rarely below 39°F or above 80°F. \nWATER & SNACKS – While hydration will be available at select locations on course\, riders are encouraged to plan to carry at least 50-60 ounces of water and enough snacks to sustain themselves under strenuous exercise. \nNICE TO HAVES – Bug spray\, sunscreen\, spare tubes\, pump or CO2\, plugs\, patches and other parts. \nDOGS – Dogs are allowed in Arkansas State Parks but are required to be on a leash at all times. No pets are allowed in public buildings except for service animals. \nTRASH – If you pack it in\, pack it out. We are guests. Please follow all event sustainability and recycling requests. \nRACE DAY MEAL – A post-race meal will be provided to racers and volunteers on Race Days only. Redeemable meal tickets will be provided at the Registration & Timing tent. SUMMARY:Tour de Pumpkin
DESCRIPTION:The 17 mile route will be the same as previous years. An aid station will be available in London at the old City Hall parking lot. \nThe 30 mile route has two deviations from previous years’ route. This year the route will turn left on Whorton Mountain Rd off of Will Baker Rd\, then turn right on Martin Chapel School Rd. This change will bypass a section of hwy 333 and avoid an area known to have aggressive dogs.  A new location for an aid station will be at Martin Chapel. Restrooms will be available. The second deviation is from Mill Creek Rd at East Point Baptist Church. Turn right onto Bailey Loop and follow to the end and turn right onto Mill Creek Rd. This change is to avoid Mill Creek Rd that has seen increased vehicle traffic with no shoulder. \nThis years event is purposefully minimal with no T-shirt and a lower registration fee. Efforts are underway to drastically improve the Tour de Pumpkin event for 2026 through a joint cooperative committee and business sponsorship. The goal is to offer a quality supported event with a post ride meal\, t-shirt\, swag bag\, and improved routes and aid stations. \nStarting at 10 am a balance bike course will be available in Downtown (at Denver and B Street) for children under 8 years old. This is a free course complete with bikes and helmets. \nCostumes are highly encourage for all participants.
