SUMMARY:Ozark Valley Triathlon
DESCRIPTION:OVT Off-Road Triathlon\, Off-Road Duathlon\, Gravel Triathlon and Gravel Duathlon to be held on the same weekend as the oldest road triathlon in NW Arkansas. UPDATE – Gravel and Mtn Bike events both to be held on Saturday\, June 29 at the same time. \nSaturday\, June 29 – OVT Gravel Triathlon\, Gravel Duathlon\, Mtn Bike Triathlon and Mtn Bike Duathlon events.  Both off-road triathlons will have a 1\,000 yard swim. Gravel bike course is 18 miles\, mtn bike course is 12 miles and the triathlon run course is an epic 5 miles. Both the gravel and mtn bike duathlon run courses will consist of a 3 mile Run #1 and 5 mile Run #2 courses. \nSunday\, June 30 – Ozark Valley Triathlon (road events) is hosting the 2024 Arkansas State Championships in the international and sprint distances as well as the Arkansas High School State Championship.  There is a combined Club Championship competition as well.  These are both road triathlon races and there will be a Aquabike\, duathlon and team category (International distance only) in the Ozark Valley Triathlon. \nOVT road events: \n\nSprint Triathlon – 400 yard swim\, 13 mile bike\, 2 mile run (2024 USA Triathlon Arkansas State Championship and High School State Championship)\nInternational Triathlon (individual or teams) – 1\,000 yard swim\, 19 mile bike and a 4 mile run (2024 USA Triathlon Arkansas State Championship)\nAquabike – 1\,000 yard swim\, 19 mile bike\nSprint Duathlon – 2 mile run\, 13 mile bike\, 2 mile run\n\nAll events will be held at Lake Wedington Recreation Area.  Lake Wedington is located 13 miles west of Fayetteville and is one of the most natural settings for a triathlon in the region. Both spectators and participants can enjoy the natural beauty of the area and combined with unique finisher medals\, post-race food\, awards and prizes all make this race one not want to miss. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nEntry Fees Priced With A T-Shirt\n\nEntry Fees are priced with a ringspun cotton t-shirt. But\, there is an option to choose no shirt and save $5 or upgrade to a fully sublimated technical fabric shirt for $15. DESCRIPTION:When?  June 8th\, 2024.  Registration opens at 7:00 a.m. Race begins at 8 a.m. and ends at 9 a.m. followed by awards party. \nWhere?  Batesville Community and Aquatics Center \nWhy?  Each registration supports adults learning to read and write in your area.  OFLP is a 501(c)3 nonprofit serving Independence\, Sharp\, Izard\, Jackson\, and Stone counties in North Central Arkansas.  We teach adults to read\, write\, and do basic math\, and/or to speak English. We also host special programs for families and community education throughout the year.  Our family programs served 451 in 2022.  All of our services are free and confidential.  We rely on grants\, donations\, and fundraisers like this one to keep our doors open and our services available to all in need. \nWhat to Expect\nOur 2024 race will be at the Batesville Community and Aquatics Center.   It will be all indoor.  Kids will swim in the competition pool (floaties and life jackets allowed for younger children) then run down the hall to the walking track to finish the run portion.  Each child will have an assigned volunteer following them through the race for safety and direction.  Children may register for “run only” if they are uncomfortable swimming. \nRegistration\nRegister online or by phone ahead of time for the best deal on your race fee.  SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE. Race packets containing t-shirts\, race numbers\, and waivers may be picked up on Wednesday\, May 29th at our office located at 184 N 5th St. in Batesville between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.  Otherwise\, they will be available at the registration desk on the day of the race.  Registration will open at 7:00 a.m. on the day of.  Day of registration is $20. However\, we can only guarantee t-shirt sizes for pre-registered participants. \nRace Legs\nParticipants will be divided into age groups and will go in the pool first.  Floaties and life vests may be used by younger children in the pool.  Racers will then put on their shoes and proceed down the hall to the walking track to complete the run portion. SUMMARY:Snowball Adventure Race
DESCRIPTION:Come join us for the adventure of a lifetime!  The Snowball Adventure Race is the first of its kind to be hosted in Searcy County\, Arkansas.  This adventure will start with a 6 mile run to the Margaret White area on the Buffalo National River\, only a few hills\, all gravel and great scenery.  You will then jump in your boat for a 8.5 mile float down the beautiful Buffalo River to the Tyler Bend launch area.  You will then pick up your bicycle at the Tyler Bend Pavilion and start the 11.5 mile gravel journey back to Snowball via the Ozark Grinder Trail.  The bike portion has a few uphills\, lots of gravel and amazing views of the Buffalo River. \nDon’t like to run? Paddle? Bike?  Sign up as a team! \nYou will need your own bike and your own boat\, either canoe or kayak\, if you take a canoe\, you may share with other participants.  You will be responsible for delivering your bicycle to the Tyler Bend Pavilion on Race Day.  We will assist with your boat shuttle.  PFD’s are required. Drop bags will also be available to reduce your load. \nWhen you’ve completed your adventure\, join us for a free meal in Snowball!  Got guests?  Please purchase an extra meal ticket. \nUnder 12? After some words from the RD’s and a panel discussion we will have a great deal of time for Q/A!\n\nWhether you are interested in racing\, volunteering\, sponsoring\, or just curious about the sport – this is the event for you! Come out for a fun evening with other adventurers and tasty food and drinks!\n\nThe 2nd year of Expedition Ozark is Expedition style Adventure Race\, challenging teams to run\, bike and paddle 350+ miles through the magnificent scenery of the Ozark Mountains over 5 days. The race is part of the Adventure Racing World Series and is USARA sanctioned.

DESCRIPTION:Bringing together trail running\, Mountain Biking\, & Rock Climbing over a 3-day festival-style event. Free camping\, great food\, live music\, and a load of fun & games! \nFriday – 5k\nKickstart the weekend on the famed North Sylamore Creek Hiking Trail. \nThe 5k trail run traverses out of the hollow to a stunning view of the creek below. It is perfect for all ages and fitness levels with a generous time limit and fun festivities after the run. \nSaturday – 13.1 or 26.2\nTime to experience Bad Branch and Jack’s Branch Trails! \nThe Saturday Trail run is perfect for veteran trail runners or new trail runners looking to test their skills at Syllamo. \nBoth distances cover Jack’s Branch – a mix of big climbs\, flow\, and gnarly tech. Around 10 miles\, runners are treated to a stunning view of the Sylamore Creek Valley below. \nNew to 2023\, the 26.2-mile trail run will continue onto Bad Branch Trail. This loop is natural flow at its purest. It begs to be run fast and hard with short punchy climbs\, rolling hills\, but unrelenting terrain to keep you on your toes! \nSaturday – Climb\nBlanchard Springs is home to impressive rock formations. In the afternoon\, a bouldering competition is hosted by professional climbers. It’s an amazing opportunity to learn\, hone\, and test your skills. \nSunday – 16 or 26.2 Mile Mountain Bike Race\nNo trip to Syllamo would be complete without riding the legendary IMBA Epic trails. These old-school trails still hold true to their wild and rugged roots. \nThe 16 Mile race completes the Bad Branch Loop. This is perfect for entry-level mountain bikers or anyone looking for a fast course. \nThe 26.2 Mile race starts with Bad Branch and then continues to Jack’s Branch. This challenging but rewarding course is sure to test any rider and become a race they want to ride again and again.
