DESCRIPTION:Real heroes\, ordinary people\, extraordinary courage. \nThe SouthArk Outdoor Expo will once again host the Hero 5k Run/Walk sponsored by South Arkansas Regional Hospital.  Runners and walkers of all ages\, abilities\, and experience levels are encouraged to come out and participate in a supportive and fun 5K event that honors our military and first responders. \nThis race honors our local courageous heroes – healthcare professionals\, military personnel\, and first responders. Its purpose is to raise awareness of the sacrifices made daily by these heroes and to unite in their honor.  The community is invited to honor our hometown heroes and those who have served in the military while paying tribute to the heroes of today who are working on our frontlines. \nThe Hero 5k Ran/Walk grew in memory of Major Ronald Wayne Culver\, who died in Iraq on May 24th\, 2010. Major Culver served multiple combat deployments throughout his military career and served on countless programs and organizations in our local community. He was a true American hero who courageously sacrificed his life for our country. \nThis race also honors Leslie Darden\, a hero & inspiration to so many in the racing world. SUMMARY:12th Annual Omega Prostate Cancer Awareness 5K Run/Walk
DESCRIPTION:The 12th Annual Omega Prostate/Colon Cancer Awareness 5K Run/ Walk is a race event for which all the proceeds are donated in support of The Arkansas Prostate Cancer Foundation\, American Cancer Society and scholarships for High School students. \nWe are grateful for the continued opportunity to raise money to help these two organization and continue to provide scholarships to deserving high school students.  With the support of the community\, last year we increased our participants to over 267 runners and walkers and we were able to raise $5\,715.62 above expenses that has been distributed to support the Arkansas Prostate Cancer Foundation\, the American Cancer Society and scholarships for deserving high school students through the Omegas of Greater Little Rock\, Incorporated non-profit corporation.  These organizations greatly appreciate the support that you gave to last year’s event. \nToo many men will hear the words “You have prostate cancer” in this calendar year. Our goal is to increase the recognition\, discussion\, education\, and promotion of yearly screenings for prostate and Colon cancer. According to the latest prostate cancer statistics from the National Cancer Institute\, about 240\,000 men will receive a diagnosis of prostate cancer\, and about 33\,000 men will die of the disease. Overall\, about 17%\, or 1 in 6 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer during his lifetime.  More than 2.5 million men in America are now living with a diagnosis of prostate cancer. SUMMARY:Healthy Kids Running Series Fall 2024
DESCRIPTION:Who We Are: Healthy Kids Running Series is a five (5) week running program in the spring and fall for kids Pre-K through 8th grade. Each HKRS Series takes place once a week and offers age-appropriate running events including the 50 & 75 yard dashes\, the 1/4 mile\, the 1/2 mile and the 1 mile run. Kids will earn points for each race they complete based on their finish. \nPricing: The registration fee covers the entire five (5) weeks of the Series which includes race bibs for each week\, a runner shirt\, a finisher medal and any sponsor giveaways. Registration is non-refundable and non-transferable. Online Early Bird registration increases three weeks prior to the first race event. \nChallenger: This Series offers a Challenger Division which is an adaptive 75 yard race for children with disabilities and/or special needs. This allows for parents\, siblings\, and friends to be on the course with runners to provide support as well as bringing their own supportive devices such as crutches\, braces\, wheelchairs\, etc. to be used by runners. \nMakeup Date Information: 10/20/2024 \nSingle Day Racing: Single day race registration opens one hour prior to the start of each race. The registration fee covers one single race to be run on the day of registration\, race bib\, and a runner shirt while supplies last. Shirt sizing and availability is not guaranteed for single day racers. ALL single day registrations should be completed onsite at the race location. Single day racers will have the option to upgrade to the full series (see tab at the top of the page for instructions). SUMMARY:Grit and Guts Trail Race 2024
DESCRIPTION:Do you have the GRIT and GUTS to traverse up and down Mt. Nebo… TWICE? \nGRIT and GUTS is back!! Half Grit and Full Grit will be hard. And they will be beautiful. \nIt will be equal parts VERT and equal parts fast flow\, we promise! \nThe race is a fun run so is FREE unless you would like a shirt to commemorate the day! Our sweet soft 50/50 shirts from Rock City Outfitters return! Shirts are unisex fit. The link to order shirts is: Grit 2024 shirt order page  The shirts are $15 plus tax.  We will pick up the shirts the week of the race. \nAll of the proceeds from this race go to the Friends of Nebo! They maintain and care for all of the trails on Mt Nebo. \nWe will have an aid station every 4-6 miles and would love to have you volunteer\, run\, or enjoy the mountain with family. If you’re running and have family there we can put them to work! \nThe race starts from the Sunset point parking lot and after a quick look at the point and a short section of the 3C trail\, you’ll head down the Sunset connector and take a left onto Lizard tail. You’ll go roughly a mile on Lizard past the seasonal waterfall. Then up to the Rim trail where you’ll take a right and end up at Sunrise point for another beautiful view of the river valley. Then you’ll go down the Sunrise connector taking a right. You’ll make your way down to the Bench trail crossing and go right onto Miller’s Goat. You’re at the 5k point and will follow Miller’s 4 miles (including a water stop) to end up at the aid station. Proceed on Miller’s another mile past the Bench overlook to the Ox pull trail. Go down Ox 1.7 miles to the bottom and you’ll find another aid station to lift your spirits for the climb back up. Once you get back up turn right briefly on Miller’s to the Overlook and then stay on the Bench trail back a mile to the Aid station. If you’re doing 13 head up the Sunset connector to the finish. For the 20 you will head right down the Chickalah (pronounced like tequila!) loop trail for a mile and go left at the Y and do the loop clockwise. Then back up to the aid station one last time and up Sunset connector a long half mile to the finish. Piece of cake!

DESCRIPTION:Who We Are: Healthy Kids Running Series is a five (5) week running program in the spring and fall for kids Pre-K through 8th grade. Each HKRS Series takes place once a week and offers age-appropriate running events including the 50 & 75 yard dashes\, the 1/4 mile\, the 1/2 mile and the 1 mile run. Kids will earn points for each race they complete based on their finish. \nPricing: The registration fee covers the entire five (5) weeks of the Series which includes race bibs for each week\, a runner shirt\, a finisher medal and any sponsor giveaways. Registration is non-refundable and non-transferable. Online Early Bird registration increases three weeks prior to the first race event. \nChallenger: This Series offers a Challenger Division which is an adaptive 75 yard race for children with disabilities and/or special needs. This allows for parents\, siblings\, and friends to be on the course with runners to provide support as well as bringing their own supportive devices such as crutches\, braces\, wheelchairs\, etc. to be used by runners. \nMakeup Date Information: 10/20/2024 \nSingle Day Racing: Single day race registration opens one hour prior to the start of each race. The registration fee covers one single race to be run on the day of registration\, race bib\, and a runner shirt while supplies last. Shirt sizing and availability is not guaranteed for single day racers. ALL single day registrations should be completed onsite at the race location. Our mission is to get kids running and over $1\,000\,000 has been given to date.  $66\,500 was distributed in 2023. \nMeet Dates: Friday\, September 27th and Saturday\, September 28th\, 2024\n\nWe are guests of the University of Arkansas Experimental Farm and these are strict rules.\nNO PETS on grounds!\nNO DRONES! \n\nParking for Saturday High School Teams is adjacent to the Washington Country Fairgrounds as directed by race officials.  Buses may drop off students at Agri Park off Garland Avenue.\nPedestrian access for Race Staff\, Credentialed Volunteers\, and VIP 10K participants allowed thru Quality Lane gate or as directed by officials.\nChile Pepper T-shirts and other event merchandise will be available for purchase.\n\nScoring and Timing\nEach runner will be required to wear a shoe chip which will be tied to his or her shoelace with supplied bread ties. At the conclusion of each race\, the chips will be collected. DESCRIPTION:To kick-off Breast Cancer Awareness month\, #teamcorrie Cancer Foundation is hosting the 12th Annual Paint the Town Pink on Saturday\, September 28\, 2024\, at 8:00 a.m. with a family friendly 5k Color Run/Walk through the beautiful downtown El Dorado.  Our theme this year is Continuing the Fight! \nUnfortunately this year due to conflicts with timers for the race\, we will NOT be having a competitive 5K race. \nThis event is an opportunity for people of all ages to gather and show their support for #teamcorrie and all of those affected by this evil disease. All proceeds will be used by the #teamcorrie Cancer Foundation to continue their mission to help Union County cancer warriors by providing monetary grants to offset medical expenses incurred by their cancer treatments.

SUMMARY:The Great 5k Pumpkin Run
DESCRIPTION:Join us in supporting children in need by registering for The Great 5K Pumpkin Run Event. \nThis event will take place at the Train Depot in Lonoke that offers a professionally chip-timed race and a 1 mile family fun run. The course takes runners\, walkers and trotters on a USATF certified course winding its way throughout Lonoke neighborhoods that loops back to the Finish Line. \nThe cost for the in-person event is $25 per person if registering before 11:59 p.m. EST on August 15th\, and price increases to $30 until  (additional increase in fees for same-day registration) and $10 (same-day registration fees increase) for the 1M Family Trot. Proceeds from all events benefit foster children housed at Lonoke Open Arms. \nRegistration Fee includes chipped-bib and an event shirt. \n1M Family Trotters will receive a shirt\, pumpkin and a participation medal at the Finish Line. \nWe offer a Virtual Run option for those that cannot make it to the event. \nPacket Pick Up: \nPacket Pick Up and Registration : We are offering early packet pickup at Rock City Running in Little Rock on Thursday\, September 26th\, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. We will have packet pickup on Friday\, 4-7pm at the Train Depot in Lonoke. We encourage you to pick up your packet early.You may pick up for others with a copy or picture of their photo ID. All other packets will be picked up by participants on Race Day between 6:30-7:45 am at the Packet Pick Up table by the Start Line. \n*Race day registration will be available race day. \nRace will be chip timed with the chip being attached to your bib. *Please wear the race bib front facing in the torso area. \nRace Day Order of Events: \nPacket Pick Up or Registration 6:30am – 7:45am \nPlease be at the Start Line by 7:45am \nPre-race announcements begin at 7:45am \nJROTC Color Guard and National Anthem will be sung at 7:50am \n5K Race will start at 8:00am \nAwards Ceremony begins at 9:00am \n1M Family Trot will start at 9:30am \nFall Fest will kick off after the Awards Ceremony. \nRecovery snacks and drinks are at the Finish Line. \nPLEASE NOTE: PortaPotties are located at the StartLine. Bathrooms inside the venue will be closed. \nParking: \nParking is available in and around the venue. Also at Lonoke First State Bank across the street at 101 S Center Street\, Lonoke\, AR 72086 and Lonoke High School at 405 W Academy St\, Lonoke\, AR 72086 a couple of blocks from the Start Line. \nWe thank you for your participation and support! SUMMARY:NAMI Arkansas End the Stigma 5k Run/Walk
DESCRIPTION:NAMI Arkansas is a private\, non-profit organization whose mission is to help people living with mental illness\, families\, and the community. NAMI Arkansas operates a statewide organization providing and coordinating a network of local support groups providing support\, education\, and advocacy throughout the state. \nThe NAMI Arkansas 5K Run/ Walk to End the Stigma raises funds for NAMI Arkansas programs that support\, educate\, and advocate for those affected by mental illness.  It also provides a place to celebrate and honor those living with mental health issues and remember those with a mental health condition who have passed on. \nWe are proud to offer participants 2 separate NAMI Walk/Run options this year. \n1. Northwest Arkansas on September 28\, 2024\, @ Veterans Memorial Park\, Fayetteville Arkansas \n2. Central Arkansas on October 12\, 2024\, @ Burns Park Soccer Complex\, North Little Rock Arkansas \nParticipants will have the option to choose the event that best fits their location needs.
