SUMMARY:SCORCHIN' SQUIRREL TRAIL RUN
DESCRIPTION:The Scorchin’ Squirrel is a trail race through Ferncliff Camp and Conference Center’s 1200 acres located just 10 miles west of Little Rock.  There are 4 distance options: a 10kish (1 loop)\, 11.5 mile (2 loops)\, 15.5 mile (3 loops) or 19.5 mile (4 loops). All distances are approximate.  Each loop passes through 1 full aid station and one water drop.   There will be refreshments at the end with a cook out at the pool.  Please bring stuff to share although Fleet Feet Little Rock and Ferncliff will provide burgers and hot dogs.  We will begin serving food at 10 AM.  No glass containers please.  No pets. \nThis is a great race for heat training and for trying out trail running with the shorter distances.  There is quite a bit of incline (heheh) throughout the course and a few water crossings in wet weather. \nAll the distances end back at the start of the race\, which is at the Ferncliff pool pavilion.  The pool will be open after the race.  It has a large covered pavilion and runners can cool off and enjoy some food and refreshments.  There are lots of changing stalls. \nAny proceeds from the event will support Ferncliff Camp and Conference Center.  If you’d like to reserve lodging the evening before the event call 501-821-3063 to reserve a room or cabin. \nIt takes about 25 volunteers to do this event right.  Would you like to volunteer and have a great time supporting runners?  If so please fill out this very brief volunteer application: https://forms.gle/s2kSoHaT8Ygvm58x8 \nClick Here to view the approximate route:  https://www.plotaroute.com/route/1404552 \nStrava course map for one loop completed:  https://www.strava.com/activities/5680121722?share_sig=6F664A841628868806&utm_medium=social&utm_source=ios_share \nAll distances begin: 7:00 am with a  6:50 am Mandatory Race Briefing

SUMMARY:Grit and Guts Trail Race
DESCRIPTION:Do you have the GRIT and GUTS to traverse up and down Mt. Nebo… TWICE? \nGRIT and GUTS is back!! Half Grit and Full Grit will be hard. And they will be beautiful. It will be equal parts VERT and equal parts fast flow\, we promise! \nThat said: A warning. This is a tough race! The trails are amazing but rocky. Bring your climbing legs and big girl pants because it will get hard. Most race days start cool and then heat up.  Not to scare anyone but this is probably not a good very first race. It will take you longer than a normal half marathon.  You are welcome to bail early just come back to the start and check out. No judgement and no worries! \nThe race is a fun run so is FREE unless you would like a shirt to commemorate the day! Our sweet soft 50/50 shirts from Rock City Outfitters return! Shirts are unisex fit. The link to order shirts is: Grit 26 shirt order  The shirts are $15 plus tax.  We will pick up the shirts the week of the race. \nAll of the proceeds from this race go to local Cross country teams along with a donation to the Friends of Nebo. \nWe will have an aid station every 4-6 miles and would love to have you volunteer\, run\, or enjoy the mountain with family. If you’re running and have family there we can put them to work!  Parking will be in the 2 parking lots at Sunset point and temporary parking across the road. DO NOT park at the visitor center.  Bathrooms are located at the campground/pool area when you first get up top! \nThe race starts from the Sunset point parking lot and after a quick look at the point and a short section of the 3C trail\, you’ll head down the Sunset connector and take a left onto Lizard tail. You’ll go roughly a mile on Lizard past the seasonal waterfall. Then up to the Rim trail where you’ll take a right and end up at Sunrise point for another beautiful view of the river valley. Then you’ll go down the Sunrise connector taking a right. You’ll make your way down to the Bench trail crossing and go right onto Miller’s Goat. You’re at the 5k point and will follow Miller’s 4 miles (including a water stop) to end up at the aid station. Proceed on Miller’s another mile past the Bench overlook to the Ox pull trail. Go down Ox 1.7 miles to the bottom and you’ll find another aid station to lift your spirits for the climb back up. Once you get back up turn right briefly on Miller’s to the Overlook and then stay on the Bench trail back a mile to the Aid station. If you’re doing 13 head up the Sunset connector to the finish. For the 20 you will head right down the Chickalah (pronounced like tequila!) loop trail for a mile and go left at the Y and do the loop clockwise. Then back up to the aid station one last time and up Sunset connector a long half mile to the finish. Piece of cake!

SUMMARY:Arkansas Traveller 100
DESCRIPTION:35th Annual Running\nThe Arkansas Traveller is steeped in tradition as one of the oldest 100 mile races in the country\, maintaining its founding philosophy of providing a true ultrarunning experience melded with Southern hospitality. Our course consists of a 17-mile loop followed by an 83-mile out-and-back through the Ouachita Mountains on forest roads\, jeep trails\, and an eight mile section of the Ouachita Trail. 12\,000 cumulative feet of climb. We will have 23 fully stocked and staffed aid stations with the friendliest volunteers and course veterans to help you reach the finish line.  The Traveller is a Western States qualifier. \nThe combination of volunteer and community support\, the beautiful scenery of the Ouachitas\, and the sneaky-hard runnable hills that will challenge you from beginning to end is what makes the AT100 so unique among the many ultras today. \nThis is a great run for first-time 100-milers\, or experienced ultrarunners who enjoy a well-supported event. \nWhat You Get: \nA Race Shirt (*Register by Sept 1st to guarantee your size/style)\nVery Well Stocked and Fully Staffed Aid Stations – approximately every 5 miles\nA Finishers Buckle\nSterling Silver (yes\, real silver) – overall M/F\nColored Enamel – under 24 hours\nBronze – over 24\nWooden engraved plaques for\nOverall M/F\nRunner-Up 2nd place M/F\nMaster M/F\nAge Group Awards -for those who stay for the post race ceremony\nPost Race Breakfast\nPrepared/Served by the William’s Junction Volunteer Fire Department & begins ~5AM Sunday\nSoup and various items for those who drop or finish before 5am\nOnsite EMT and Medical Director\nOur Own Tried and True Timing Team \nOur Motto –  “Good Time Running!”\nRace Director – Stacey Shaver-Matson
