SUMMARY:World Championship Running of the Tubs
DESCRIPTION:For over a century\, visitors from all over the world have flocked to Hot Springs National Park\, Arkansas to bathe in our thermal waters. But what happens when you take a bathtub and put it on wheels? The Stueart Pennington World Championship Running of the Tubs\, that’s what happens! This chaotic celebration of Hot Springs’ spa history is a town favorite! \nTo celebrate Hot Springs’ classic motto “We Bathe the World” teams from all over get their best bathtubs all dolled up to bring to Hot Springs. But whose tub has the stuff? Four team members (the bath attendants) must push their bathtubs through the heart of the city\, the Historic Bathhouse Row\, while the team captain sits in the bathtub and steers. Throughout the course\, teams will face various obstacles along the way\, while dressed in elaborate costumes in hopes to become The World Champion Tub Runners – a sought out title\, obviously. \nThe bathtub must be full of water at the start of the race and have at least 10 gallons of water left in the tub at the finish line. If that isn’t hard enough\, each bath attendant must carry one of 4 items (bar of soap\, bath mat\, loofah mitt\, and bath towel) throughout the entire race and present all items at the end of the race. Here’s a fun twist\, the judges (sporting bathrobes and clipboards) are encouraged to make up new rules on the spot! Keeping everybody on their toes! \nBut don’t worry\, everybody gets to be a part of the fun. The crowd always comes prepared to spray competitors with water throughout the entire race\, in hopes to slow down\, distract\, or just annoy racers. \nParticipants can choose to compete in three different divisions: traditional (cast-iron tubs)\, modified (fiberglass/plastic tubs)\, or stock (reserved for nonprofits tubs are provided) Each tub and team must meet the qualifications to compete. \nIf that’s not convincing enough\, just wait until you see the annual Battle of the Badge: Hot Springs Police Department vs. Hot Springs Fire Department. Trust us\, they take this very seriously. On Saturday\, June 7\, 2025\, in partnership with the Delta Presents Outreach Foundation\, we will host the 2nd Annual Live Well 5K Run/Walk: A Physical and Mental Health Movement. The Live Well 5K Run/Walk is an opportunity to bring the community together for the purpose of promoting physical and mental health/wellness. Research has shown that running and walking have a positive impact on mental health like better sleep\, stress reliever\, improved self-esteem\, sharper focus\, and improved memory.\nYour support will assist us in our efforts to provide scholarship incentives for high school students interested in furthering their education as well as support overall mental health/wellness in our chapter and community. The Live Well 5K Run/Walk is a family-friendly community run/walk for men\, women\, and children. Runners\, joggers\, and walkers are encouraged to come out and enjoy a healthy\, fun-filled event while supporting a worthy cause. \nCOURSE: \nRACE DISTANCE: 5K (3.1 miles) \nTIME LIMIT:  1 hour and 45 minutes. Backyard party at the finish.\n\nMix surface course primarily trail\, including Centennial\, Markham and Kessler. You will cover most of the Fayetteville Traverse and then some. Leave the big lugs at home\, because this course is going to be about 1/3rd pavement. Perfect party run to train for upcoming races or just to have a terrible time.\n\nRoughly 20 miles. Unofficially you can end at smokehouse (13 miles) or start at smokehouse (7 miles)\, but this requires you to shuttle.\nBasic aid stations and water drops. You’ll need at least 1 bottle\, if not two.\n\nIf you want in\, you MUST sign up as “going”. Final details and specifics will only be given to those that are registered.

DESCRIPTION:Come join CRC for a fun run on Saturday\, July 5 at 8am at the back parking lot of the Conway Regional Fitness Center on Salem Road. We have a ~5k route (see link below) we will be doing as a group along the trail behind the fitness center. We are also going to do a 1-Mile Sparkler Run this year\, so be sure to bring the entire family for a fun morning. \n5k Route: https://www.strava.com/routes/3101551894825041526 \nADDITIONAL INFO: \n1) This is a “fun run.” It is not a timed event. We will\, however\, have refreshments and awards for those that register for the event on RunSignUp. All participants will receive a finisher award.\n(Please note: we will not ship. You will have to pick up at a date/location TBD.) The first male and first female “winners” of the 5k will also a free CRC membership. \nRegistration is FREE to all Conway Running Club members\, so be sure to become a member before registering! Please run opposing vehicular traffic whenever possible. \n4) We will have the portion of the 5k course that goes into the neighborhood marked with some cones so you hopefully will know when to turn. Still\, please check out the course map prior to the run if you can! \n4) We are anticipating a nice turn out for this event\, and we are excited! The “Dickson Street Open” is intended to be the main category that is inclusive to the most types of racers\, while other categories listed have varying criteria to fit. \nDickson Street Open (All ages)\nThis race is the main event – a mile for everyone! SUMMARY:Hope Watermelon 5K State Championship
DESCRIPTION:Race starts leaving Fair park and going East on Park drive. Mostly flat with a few winding turns\, then heading to Elm street going back north for two blocks lining up for the long straight away on Main. \nRunners continue along Main St rewarded with a small gradual downhill until near the 1.5 mile point. Main St then moves gradually back uphill and the race route continues this gradual incline after making a right turn onto 16th street until just before the 2 mile marker. \nAt this point the course is gradually downhill until after the turn onto Grady Street\, where the route levels off. The now weary runners will take Grady north to 7th Street where a left turn is made. The route angles to the southwest onto Park Dr. The road then turns back due west for the final straightaway. It is now time for the runners to begin their finishing kicks as the 3 mile marker and the finish line back in Fair Park are finally in sight!

DESCRIPTION:Distance: 14 miles (approximate)\nStarts at 7:00 am from the top of Mt. Nebo\, in the parking lot near the pool and camping area. Mt. Nebo is about three miles west of Dardanelle on Hwy 155.\nThere is no entry fee. There may be some form of receptacle into which a donation would be appropriate to show appreciation for those administering the run and/or providing food and aid.\nThis is a low-key event–a “fun run”. DESCRIPTION:Packet Pick Up will be offered the day before the race and the morning of.  \n\nPacket Pick Up will be the available on Friday\, August 29\, 2025 from 12pm to 6pm at Rock City Running. Located at Market Place Shopping Center\, 11121 N Rodney Parham Rd Ste 37B\, Little Rock\, AR 72212 Your bag will include your chip for timing. If for some reason you pick up your packet but are not running\, please make sure we get the shoe chip back from you. Failure to return shoe chip will result in a $25 fee.\nPacket Pick Up will also be race morning between the hours of 6:00am – 7:00am. Please arrive in plenty of time to come pick up your packet\, get your bib on\, and take your shirt back to your car!\n\nRegistration \n\nRegistration will close online at 6pm on August 28\, 2025. In-person registration will be available the day at Rock City Running from 12pm – 6pm. $35 cash or check. We will have race day registration $35.00\, cash or check (made out to ARK) only from 6:00am – 7:00am.\n\nAwards \nOverall Top 3 Male and Female. Top 3 Masters (40 +) Male and Female.
