DESCRIPTION:Your registration fee benefits The Salvation Army’s Pathway of Hope program. This program provides individualized services to families with children who desire to take action to break the cycle of crisis and vulnerability that repeats generation after generation. It seeks to address the root causes of poverty in addition to The Army’s history of compassionate serving. By helping families overcome challenges like unemployment\, unstable housing\, and lack of education\, we can lead families down a path toward increased stability and\, ultimately\, self-sufficiency. \nJoin us for a family friendly\, multi “bike”\, ride in our beautiful Hot Springs!\nYou will have the option to ride your road bike only\, MTB only\, or BOTH!! Yes\, we will have routes that include both road AND mountain. We will have a shuttle for your bikes at the exchange location. \nAfter you have worked up a good appetite come celebrate your finish at our After Party. (Farmers Market) Your “tour” registration includes food and drink\, t-shirt\, and other awesome swag. (Family Ride includes Finisher Medal\, food and drink only) We have put in a lot of time into planning\, and months of meetings to bring you a fun unique experience in our beautiful city on your bike! \nCome enjoy music\, food\, and drinks provided by The Salvation Army Canteen\, and good family fun! Not riding? No worries! You can buy a ticket to the after party and join in on the festivities by being a virtual rider. \nSAG and Aid Stations will be available on each route. \n***Riders must wear bib numbers (supplied with registration) to obtain food and access to certain areas of the route. Medical support will be available; however\, medical personnel will not be dispensing comfort medications such as: aspirin\, ibuprofen\, Tylenol. Participants are asked to bring their own comfort medications as needed. \nHelmets are required for ALL riders regardless of the route you ride or your age. \nPlease download and save the route you plan to ride!!! All the routes will be well marked but it always helps to have the route on your bike computer! All routes are below. \nFull Tour de Salvation\nIf you plan to ride the Full Tour route\, you have the option to bring two different bikes. Many riders will ride the road route with a road bike (or gravel bike) and then switch to their mountain bike (MTB). Or you can complete the entire ride on your MTB!  If you plan to switch bikes\, remember to bring the shoes you need for each bike! You will need to “check in” your mountain bike and MTB shoes by 6:45 am on the day of the event. Your MTB will be shuttled to the switch point. Once you switch bikes at the trail\, you will leave your road bike at the switch point and it will be shuttled back to the start point. After completing the mountain bike trail ride at the Pullman Trailhead\, you will simply ride your MTB on the road for 2.5 miles back through downtown (bathhouse row) to the Farmer’s Market. Magazine 15k on May 30\, 2026 that promises to challenge and inspire. It’s only ONE hill!! We start about a half mile from the school on dirt road and then it turns into paved road the rest of the way up to the top of Mt. Magazine. Once at the top\, there will be a shuttle to get you to the bottom of the mountain – Or you can go a little extra an run down! What goes up must come down\, right? \nEarly start for Mount Magazine is 6:30am! \nKeep the adrenaline pumping with an all paved course 1.5 miles up Danville mtn and 1.5 down! Its a fast fun race up a mountain on June 20\, 2026. \nWe wrap up the series with the deliciously named Mt. Nebo Chicken Fried 10k on August 29\, 2026 .This is a paved course that starts at the bottom of Mt. Nebo at the Dollar General across the road. Once at the top\, there will be a shuttle to get you to the bottom of the mountain – Or you can go a little extra an run down! \nWhere you earn the bragging rights along with some awesome swag for the finale! \nEach race comes with a Shirt. To create a rewarding enduro race experience\, organizers reserve the right to limit overall event participation. DESCRIPTION:Distance: 14 miles (approximate)\nStarts at 7:00 am from the top of Mt. Nebo\, in the parking lot near the pool and camping area. Mt. Nebo is about three miles west of Dardanelle on Hwy 155.\nThere is no entry fee. There may be some form of receptacle into which a donation would be appropriate to show appreciation for those administering the run and/or providing food and aid.\nThis is a low-key event–a “fun run”. SUMMARY:Summer Milky Way/Perseid Meteor Shower Star Party
DESCRIPTION:Meteor showers get coverage in the popular press\, and astronomy groups invariably get requests from the public about how to view them. But there are challenges. First\, you need a dark\, open sky. That requires at least some travel for most people\, and then you need no moon. Finally\, you need to be prepared to stay up late or get up early\, as most showers don’t really get going until near midnight. But this year the Perseids are on an evening with a first-quarter moon\, which will provide engaging telescopic views before setting just as it gets dark enough to take in the Summer Milky Way\, at its best; together these provide a provocative prelude to the meteor shower. \nSo\, the Central Arkansas Astronomical Society has stepped up to the challenge this year\, hosting a public event at Lake Sylvia\, just 40 minutes out on Highway 10 from Little Rock. To be so close to urbanity\, LS has an amazingly dark sky open over the peninsula in the lake. It also has camping and a few cabins\, a plus for those willing to push observing into the AM hours. \nProgramming will begin in Ogden Hall at 7:30 and cover observing the Summer Milky Way\, as well as the meteor shower. Transitioning to the observing site will occur in time to catch telescopic views of the first-quarter moon\, while Venus will also decorate the celestial stage. As the moon drops\, there will be a constellation tour to welcome the Summer Milky Way onto center stage\, bringing a whole new suite of telescopic and binocular objects to view. \nThe event is worth attending just for the foregoing\, but around eleven\, meteor counts should start to rise as Perseus rises higher in the northeastern sky\, and telescope views will end. Portable chairs\, blankets\, sleeping bags\, and bug spray are recommended. As usual\, no white flashlights\, please. \nHow long have you wanted to experience a meteor shower? See you there.

The course will be a point-to-point loop starting at the beach area and ending at the boat ramp. It will be marked with buoys and other directional signage. \nTransition 1: The T1 area is in the parking lot as you come up the boat ramp. The transition exit to bike will be at the parking entrance onto the road. \nBike Course:\nThe bike course is on paved roads with beautiful scenery of the Ozark Mountains. The first half of the course is a FAST ride with rolling downhill terrain. The second section goes through downtown and the University of the Ozarks campus\, then back out into the countryside that features rolling hills and finishes with a gradual and flat ride back into downtown. \nTransition 2: The T2 area is a parking lot downtown. You will enter from the road after you go around the courthouse square and exit the parking lot to quickly hop on the trail for the run. \nRun Course:\nThe run is an out-and-back course on the Spadra Creek Nature Trail that features a flat paved trail with a pasture and wooded setting and finishes downtown with great spectator viewing and an awesome finish line party! \n  \nPARKING and TRANSPORTATION: \nParticipant parking is available at Lake Ludwig near the Swim Beach Start/T1 area on race morning.  After the race\, there will be a bus shuttle back and forth from the Finish Line/T2 area downtown to the Start/T1 area at Lake Ludwig for participant/spectator pickup/drop-off every 20-30 minutes\, starting at 9:00 AM until the last finisher at the end of the race.  Participants who do not have any family/friends/crew present at the race to take their gear and vehicle to the Finish Line area downtown after race start\, are encouraged to park at Lake Ludwig/Swim Start/T1 area on race morning and take the shuttle bus back to their vehicle after the race. \nPACKET PICKUP: \nPacket Pickup for all race events will be available on Friday\, August 14th from 9am-7pm at Clarksville City Hall (205 Walnut St\, Clarksville\, AR 72830). \nSaturday\, August 15th- Race Day Packet Pickup (Sprint Tri): \nRace Day Packet Pickup will be from 5:30-6:30am near the T1 area at Lake Ludwig (Southside of Lake).  All packets must be picked up prior to race start at 7am.  There is no race day registration. \n  \n  \nPLEASE NOTE:  Race entry fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. \nWe race rain or shine.  In case of inclement weather\, or any other safety issue\, race management reserves the right to cancel/alter/modify the race/course for any safety concerns.  In any case there will be No Refunds of race entry fees.  Each athlete must accept any such risk of their entry fee paid.  We promise to make every effort to produce a fair\, safe and exciting event for all.  Any decision we make to cancel the race is based on the overall safety of participants. \nHistory of the Broken Sword: \nAs the legend goes\, the sword was broken in battle along a swift creek over the forbidden love between a lost explorer and the chief’s daughter of the native Quapaw tribe.  Years later\, DeSoto and his Spanish explorers were passing through this area when they came upon the same swift creek.  As they crossed the stream\, DeSoto stumbled upon the broken sword and cried “Spadra!” (espada is Spanish for sword)\, and so was named Spadra Creek\, “Stream of the Broken Sword.” \nToday\, the beautiful Spadra Creek still flows swiftly through the heart of Clarksville and features prominently along the racecourse.

Pending approval\, available at the event for a designated donation\, other MTB style T-shirts will be available and printed on site in various sizes! \nLunch will be provided to participants at no charge.  Any extra food will be made available (please consider a donation) once all participants have had a chance to eat. \nThe 10 and Under course will be 2 laps on a 1.4 mile inside course loop close to the Pit Zone so you can cheer them on. \n\nThe 11-14 year old racers may recognize the old ARNICA racecourse with a little added to make it 4.4 miles long. \n\nFor the rest of the racers\, the full course of 6.44 miles will be used.  Some returning veterans to the SH Classic will recall the course being 9+ miles\, however as you will soon find out\, there is a new bridge being constructed over the Arkansas River which cut off about 2 miles of the trail system.

DESCRIPTION:Western Arkansas Runners is honored to be able to carry on the Annual Memorial Run honoring BRENT MORRISON who was an avid runner in the River Valley as well as the Hot Springs area.  This year will mark the 10th year that a run of some form has been held and along with honoring Brent\, we will also be honoring runners whose life’s have been taken too soon. Run in honor of that runner you knew who is no longer with us.  Our Age Group awards are always an extra special treat and all runners will receive a finishers award as well as food\, music and runner comradery afterwards !!! A portion of the proceeds will go towards our clubs plans to host a Jr. Run Clinic\, Memorial Site for Brent\, with the remainder to go towards day-to-day use of the Western Arkansas Running Club\, a non profit organization\, located in Chaffee on Taylor Ave\, along with our weekly sponsored runs and events for runners.   Western Arkansas Runners- WAR- supports Runners and Walkers of all ages and gender and live by the motto “No Runners Left Behind”.  If you are unable to run/walk but are interested in volunteering or would like to make a donation please contact the race director : Sheri Nicholls @ brentmorrisonmemorial@gmail.com.  You will run the certified course\, chosen to be part of the 2025 Arkansas Grand Prix as a Championship Race however start/finish line had to be moved due to construction delays therefore is not certified. DESCRIPTION:Join us on the 4th of July 2026 at Lake Balboa Beach in Hot Springs Village\, AR for the annual Stars and Stripes Freedom 5k Run and 1k Walk. Check-in starts at 6:30a and the run begins at approximately 7:30a. All runners will receive a custom finisher’s medal and awards will be given for top 3 men’s and women’s finishers. We will have a strict field limit of 175 runners. All participants must sign a waiver. Links to the course map and waiver are below. Online Registration is $20 until July 2nd with onsite registration available for $25 July 3rd/4th. Early check-in/registration will take place in the garden area next to the Coronado Fitness Center from 4-6 on the 3rd of July.

We will start and finish at the trail head near the basketball court in Veteran’s Memorial Riverfront Park\, you will follow the trail along front street then turn on to N Second St. where you will cross under Hwy 22 to the parking lot by the Dardanelle Community Center where you will turn around and head back. \nThis is a chip timed race you will need to cross the starting mat and finish mat in order to be recorded. Please make sure you have the chip securely attached to your shoe. (see image below for examples) \nThere is 1 water stop for this race at the turn around point near the Dardanelle Community Center. \nWe will have overall awards for the top 3 male and female finishers for both the runner and walker categories. DESCRIPTION:In this country we have Freedom\, we have freedom to Run and we have the freedom to run a July 4th race and finish with pride.  We will be hosting the Freedom Finishers 5K at Paragould’s Rotary Park on July 4th starting at 7:00AM.  The start time has been moved up to allow participants the opportunity to run this event and get to the Community Center for the 8:00AM 4 miler event. The course will be an out and back on the 8 mile ditch trail. \nEntry fee is $30 for non-military members 16 and older. Those not old enough to drive yet are discounted to $15. \nFor those not wanting the 5K distance we are adding a 1 mile route. \nService members (Military\, Police\, and Fire) can use coupon code “Military” to get $10 off the entry fee. Please have your military ID available at check-in on race morning to receive your bib. \nT-shirt cutoff is 6/22 so please register early to insure you get one.
