SUMMARY:Scorchin' Squirrel Trail Run
DESCRIPTION:NO RACE DAY REGISTRATION \nThe Scorching’ Squirrel is a trail race through Ferncliff Camp and Conference Center’s 1200 acres located just 10 miles west of Little Rock.  There are 4 distance options: a 10k (1 loop)\, 11.5 mile (2 loops)\, 15.5 mile (3 loops) or 19.5 mile (4 loops). All distances are approximate.  Each loop passes through 1 full aid station and one water drop.   There will be refreshments at the end with a cook out at the pool.  Please bring stuff to share although Fleet Feet Little Rock and Ferncliff will provide burgers and hot dogs.  We will begin serving food at 10 AM.  No glass containers please.  No pets. \nThis is a great race for heat training and for trying out trail running with the shorter distances.  There is quite a bit of incline throughout the course and a few water crossings in wet weather. \nAll the distances end back at the start of the race\, which is at the Ferncliff pool pavilion.  The pool will be open after the race.  It has a large covered pavilion and runners can cool off and enjoy some food and refreshments.  There are lots of changing stalls. \nAny proceeds from the event will support Ferncliff Camp and Conference Center.  If you’d like to reserve lodging the evening before the event call 501-821-3063 to reserve a room or cabin. \nIt takes about 25 volunteers to do this event right.  Would you like to volunteer and have a great time supporting runners?  If so please fill out this very brief volunteer application:  https://forms.gle/HeqTSnAQR2WghPqn6 \nClick Here to view the approximate route:  https://www.plotaroute.com/route/1404552 \nStrava course map for one loop completed:  https://www.strava.com/activities/5680121722?share_sig=6F664A841628868806&utm_medium=social&utm_source=ios_share \nAll distances begin: 7:00 am with a  6:50 am Mandatory Race Briefing

SUMMARY:TRIFEST for MS
DESCRIPTION:The Trifest for MS triathlon\, the largest triathlon in Arkansas\, draws people from all over the country to Bentonville to raise money for multiple sclerosis research. \nThe Rampy MS Research Foundation hosts the event and each year the race raises almost $100\,000 towards multiple sclerosis research in Arkansas at UAMS\, Northwestern University in Chicago and University of California at San Francisco (UCSF). Since 2012\, the Trifest for MS and other foundation activities have raised close to $900\,000. \n“Most people don’t realize research doctors actually have to raise a lot of money themselves to fund their research\,” race founder Scott Rampy told Fox 24 News. “So we would rather keep scientists in their lab coats studying the disease and figuring out how to cure it versus raising money for their research.” \nHis wife\, Jo Rampy was diagnosed with the disease about 20 years ago. She said the organization is a good way to show other people living with the condition\, that they’re not alone. \n“This illness is progressive\,” Jo Rampy said. “We can get lost in that progressiveness. But we don’t. We take our energy and our time\, and we place it into a cause that can help others.” \n*The events in 2025 will not be USA Triathlon Sanctioned due to the participant one day fee increasing to $21. Instead there is a $7 race insurance charge added during checkout. \nTrifest for MS features a para triathlete division in all the youth events\, and the super sprint distances. Simply register for your race distance and choose the option during registration that you are a para athlete.

SUMMARY:99 Miles of Bad Road
DESCRIPTION:99 Miles of Bad Road is a gravel bicycle race starting and ending in Hardy\, Arkansas.  Expect every road surface type\, with roughly 80% being unpaved.  Don’t let the elevation profile of the GPX fool you – Garmin devices have picked up 100 feet or more of elevation gain per mile. These are relentless rolling hills with an occasional punchy climb or sketchy descent.  Everything from mud\, dirt\, gravel\, concrete bridges\, clay\, crushed limestone\, creek rocks\, broken pavement\, and more.  This route earns it’s name. \nAll finishers will receive a cool memento! Top 3 in each Category will receive awards. Overall winner will receive a unique custom award. \nOh\, and we also have a 199 Mile route option… \nCheck the website and Facebook regularly for updates! \n————– \n-Both distances of this race are loop routes that start and end at Loberg Park in Hardy\, Arkansas.  Camping is available at the campground next door to the park.  We have nothing to do with that\, you’ll have to reserve with them here if you wish to camp: https://www.campspot.com/park/hardy-campground-rv-park \n-Unless there are tornadoes\, large hail\, or extreme thunderstorms the day of the race\, we will not cancel.  Put your big boy/girl pants on\, and ride! \n-There will be some water drops and aid stations along the way\, as well as a drop-bag option for the 199’ers. We will update the Ride With GPS route maps to reflect the locations closer to race day. \n-You are solely responsible for your own safety. We will however require a headlight\, flashlight\, or headlamp\, a whistle/horn\, at least 2L of water capacity\, and an emergency blanket/bivy\, and either a phone\, GPS\, or Bicycle computer. \n– We will make no claim as to whether the course will be marked or not. You are responsible for studying the route maps and navigating.  That’s half the fun!

SUMMARY:Newton County Brutality
DESCRIPTION:Welcome to the Newton County Mentality\nThree Days of Bikes and Community\nFriday:\nWe’ll start things off on Friday afternoon with a 3-4 mile time trial that stays within the canyon walls\, ripping around on the gravel and world-class singletrack at Horseshoe Canyon Ranch (HCR). You’ll choose your bike\, but choose wisely cause you have to use that bike on Saturday and Sunday too. Finish the day with a meal in the Lodge Restaurant\, a campfire with friends\, and a good night’s rest in the cool fall temperatures. \nSaturday:\nThe big day — you’ll set out to tackle the best\, and hardest gravel riding in the state of Arkansas. This is backcountry gravel at its finest: big climbs\, fast and technical descents\, remote roads\, and the best views that the Ozark Mountains have to offer (remember\, it’s peak fall foliage). You’ll choose between 65- and 40-mile categories\, each expecting around 9\,000 and 5\,000 feet of climbing\, respectively.\nReturn to the ranch tired and empty\, then fill your bellies with a huge helping at the Lodge Restaurant (they call it “adventure nutrition meets local tradition”). Live music will ensue in the field below the lodge\, and although you’ll likely be cracked from the day of pedaling you’ll want to dance the night away with drinks in hand. And it’ll be ok cause the next day’s challenge plays on the word “fun\,” not “difficult.” \nSunday:\nGrab your friends (or enemies)\, take your clue card\, and adventure around the ranch on your bike\, completing challenges in a scavenger hunt-style format. CHILL PACE – WE AIN’T TIMING YOU! Bring your proof of completion back to the Trading Post\, and you’ve conquered the most famous stage farce on the planet. Awards will be given\, laughs will be had\, and then tents will be packed up. And although you will be free to go home\, we can pretty much guarantee you won’t want to. \n  \nWhat’s included? \n“ALL IN” pass includes: \n\nChipped race plate for the time trial on Friday and gravel course on Saturday\nYour name will be entered to win raffle prizes from our partners:  Bearded Goat\, Cafe du Cycliste\, Rapha\, Kuat\, Skratch Labs\, Specialized and many more!\nDinner at the Lodge Restaurant Friday and Saturday nights\nInaugural event tee by Allied Cycle Works\nLive music under the stars\nFossil Cove Beer and other bevvies\nHCR weekend day passes 11/1-11/3\nCamping\nMeteor Aid station and 37 North + Bike Inn SAG support\nCompeting for stage farce podiums announced on Sunday\nPlus lots of RO3 partner surprises\n\n“COMING IN HOT!” pass includes: \n\nChipped race plate for the gravel course on Saturday\nInaugural event tee by Allied Cycle Works\nMeteor Aid station and 37 North + Bike Inn SAG support\nThis ticket is for those who can’t make it on Friday and can only drive in Saturday morning.\nYou can also add the one night camping\, beer\, drinks\, dinner Saturday night and live music if you can stick around!\n\nFriends + Family WEEKEND pass includes: \n\nDinner Friday and Saturday nights\, beer and N/A drinks\, live music\, camping\, and HCR day passes.\n\nKids WEEKEND pass includes: \n\nDinner Friday and Saturday nights\, live music\, camping\, and HCR day passes.\n\nSaturday pass includes: \n\nDinner Saturday night\, drinks\, live music\, camping\, and HCR day pass.\n\nKids Saturday pass includes: \n\nDinner Saturday night\, live music\, camping\, and HCR day pass.\n\n  \nCamping \nCamping is included with the “ALL IN” pass and you can also add one night to the “COMING IN HOT” pass.  It will be located on-site at the event location.  This is a gorgeous open field with plenty of space to pitch a tent\, park your sprinter van or small teardrop trailers. DESCRIPTION:The 13th Annual Omega Prostate/Colon Cancer Awareness 5K Run/ Walk is a race event for which all the proceeds are donated in support of The Arkansas Prostate Cancer Foundation\, American Cancer Society and scholarships for High School students. \nWe are grateful for the continued opportunity to raise money to help these two organization and continue to provide scholarships to deserving high school students.  With  the support of the community\, last year we increased our participants to over 267 runners and walkers and we were able to raise $5\,715.62 above expenses that has been distributed to support the Arkansas Prostate Cancer Foundation\, the American Cancer Society and scholarships for deserving high school students through the Omegas of Greater Little Rock\, Incorporated non- profit corporation.  These organizations greatly appreciate the support that you gave to last year’s event. \nToo many men will hear the words “You have prostate cancer” in this calendar year. Our goal is to increase the recognition\, discussion\, education\, and promotion of yearly screenings for prostate and Colon cancer. According to the latest prostate cancer statistics from the National Cancer Institute\, about 240\,000 men will receive a diagnosis of prostate cancer\, and about 33\,000 men will die of the disease. Overall\, about 17%\, or 1 in 6 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer during his lifetime.  More than 2.5 million men in America are now living with a diagnosis of prostate cancer. Reports show that prostate cancer is the second leading cause of cancer deaths among men in the United States\, accounting for about 11% of cancer related deaths in men.  Colon Cancer is the third most commonly diagnosed cancer and the second leading cause of cancer death in men and women combined in the United States.  The American Cancer Society estimates that this year 136\,830 people will be diagnosed and 50\,310 will die from this disease. \nThank you in advance for your continued support to help us knock out Prostate and Colon cancer!
