SUMMARY:Ride the Ravine for Hydrocephalus
DESCRIPTION:This gravel and road cycling event will begin at 8 a.m. on the morning of the famous Battle of the Ravine football game between Henderson State University and Ouachita Baptist University. If you plan to attend the game\, come early and enjoy an awesome ride in Southern Arkansas—you won’t be disappointed. After the ride\, stay for the post ride events which will include food\, drinks\, and entertainment. There will be rest stops on each route. \nThis isn’t a normal road ride and this isn’t a normal gravel ride. This is also not a race! This is a ride for those that love to ride their bicycle on quiet\, low-traffic county roads. \nThere are 4 route options in total.\n3 of the routes will have pavement and gravel.\nFor those pure roadies\, there is 1 route that is all pavement. \n“Groad” refers to a route that has both road (pavement) and gravel.\nGravel + Road = Groad \nThe links to each route is below. \nWe highly recommend downloading the route you plan to ride on your bike computer so you don’t get lost! While we will have the routes marked with signs/arrows\, but it’s always best to have the route on your computer! It’s possible that you may not see a sign! \n  \n35-mile Groad route:\nhttps://www.mapmyride.com/routes/view/6639847977 \n51-mile Groad route:\nhttps://www.mapmyride.com/routes/view/6639863265 \n73-mile Groad route:\nhttps://www.mapmyride.com/routes/view/6651230233 \n33-mile Road route:\nhttps://www.mapmyride.com/routes/view/6651252110 \n***If you’ve only ever ridden road (pavement) and you’re trying to decide if your skinny 25 mm or 28 mm tires would be safe on the gravel\, we do NOT recommend it! You will most likely get a flat! It’s best to ride any dirt and/or gravel roads with at least 35 mm wide TUBELESS tires. However\, even a 35 mm tire is considered skinny these days! Many gravel riders prefer 40+ mm tubeless tires. For the groad routes\, we personally prefer 42-45 mm wide tubeless tires and run fairly low tire pressure: 28-30 psi. So if you don’t have a bicycle that will accommodate a wider tire\, ride the 33-mile road only route.

Provide your bib number to your family and friends for an instant finishing time. Full race results will be posted at garnertiming.com. Race results will also be provided to MarathonGuide. \nSafety \nMedical personnel from Metropolitan Emergency Medical Services (MEMS) will be on hand at the Start/Finish and patrolling the course. Law enforcement will be on hand at the Start/Finish and at every section of the course that converges with traffic. \nFor the short sections of the Arkansas River Trail that converge with the roadway\, runners must remain aware of vehicular traffic at all times. Runners must remain to the right side of the roadway\, observe course monitors’ instruction\, and proceed through intersections with caution. Race numbers should be securely pinned to the front of your clothing and visible at all times. \nStrollers\, rollerblades\, skates\, unauthorized vehicles\, and pets are strictly prohibited to ensure runner safety. Pets are prohibited on the 3 Bridges Marathon trolley\, except for service animals. \nShirts \nShirts are long-sleeve unisex technical fabric. Select from XS\, S\, M\, L\, XL\, and XXL at the time of registration. Shirt sizes may be exchanged on race day at the Rock City Running information tent subject to availability. Shirt exchanges will not be mailed after race day. \nSpectator Guide \nSee the Spectators guide prepared for your friends and family to enjoy the day cheering for you along the course. You will not find another course on trails this beautiful that is also this accessible. The guide includes directions\, descriptions\, and approximate mile marks for numerous viewing areas. Your friends and family may see you many times\, often twice at one stop in a short period. Better yet\, have your friends and family volunteer for an early or late shift and cheer the other half of the day! \nThe course is almost entirely on the Arkansas River Trail system. However\, in a few short stretches\, roads with vehicular access converge with sections of the trail. Although we know you will be very mindful of traffic and there will be police officers at these locations\, please remind your friends and family that if they drive near the course to be courteous and careful. \nTime Limit \nThe race begins at 7:00 a.m. There is a 6 hour time limit for the regular start. There is an early start option at 5:00 a.m. for runners planning to take between 6 and 8 hours. There is an 8 hour time limit for the early start. See details under Early Start above. Runners expecting to take longer than six hours are asked to take the early start option or may be removed from the course. \nTravel \nThere is no host hotel and no hotel within walking distance to the parking lots. Race shuttles will not offer pickups from hotels. Prior transportation plans are encouraged. \nParticipants staying at local hotels may have a cab bring them to the race parking lot\, and then ride the shuttle to the starting line. Cabs will only be allowed to deliver participants to the starting line for the Early Start. Instructing your cab to drive down River Mountain Road for the regular start may result in disqualification and ban from future 3 Bridges events. \nVolunteers \nIt takes a tremendous number of volunteers to carry out a marathon. See Volunteers for clubs and organizations involved. Every major running club in central Arkansas has committed members and resources to make the 3 Bridges Marathon possible. If you would like to volunteer write info@3bridgesmarathon.com. \nWaiver \nThe marathon waiver is included with your online registration. Specifically note the Event Policies tab regarding cancellations\, registration refunds\, deferral option\, waiting list\, transfers\, and inclement weather. Online signature of the waiver upon registration acknowledges your understanding and adherence to all event policies. \nThank you for complying with all runner instructions.

SUMMARY:The Triple C at Woolly Hollow
DESCRIPTION:This is an annual trail race in memory of Curtis Colt Childress\, who was killed in a motorcycle accident on September 26\, 2024.   The race distances are 10\, 4\, and 1 miles through the trails at Woolly Hollow State Park.  All proceeds will go to the Cabugcayan Mission/Biliran Church of Christ in the Philippines\, which is where Curtis’s wife\, Ruby\, and daughter\, Curtlyn\, live.  Donations are appreciated! \nThe Triple C takes place on the first Saturday of December because Curtis was born on December 6th.  Curtis loved children and never met a stranger in his life\, so the 1 mile fun run/walk is set up for children or anyone else who doesn’t want to run or just wants a short trail experience. \nThe 10 miles course takes place along a short paved section at the back of the park and follows the Enders Fault Mountain Bike Trail\, ending at the top of the dirt access road in the Enders Fault gravel parking lot.  The 4 miles course begins on the paved road by the pavilion\, follows the Huckleberry Trail through the woods and along a short section of the main paved road\, runs by the falls\, around the lake\, up the dirt access road\, and finishes in the Enders Fault gravel parking lot.  The 1 mile course begins on pavement just past the pavilion\, runs through the gravel Enders Fault parking lot\, down the dirt access road with a turnaround back to the finish in the gravel parking lot. Awards will be given to the top three male and female finishers of the 10 and 4 miles courses. \nThis race is great for beginner trail runners\, those more experienced runners who want to hit a PR on shorter courses\, anyone looking to get in a solid training race for something bigger\, and anyone else who just wants to support our cause by spending some time in nature and getting awesome swag\, to boot! We hope to see everyone out there with us\, can’t wait to meet new faces\, and are so excited to be honoring the memory of Curtis by doing something he loved in the Park that was an integral part of his life. \nWoolly Hollow is a leave no trace state park.  Trash bags will be available at aid stations\, and there will be two\, one on the 10 miler around 4.5 miles and on the 4 miler before the waterfall. Please stash your trash! \nIN-PERSON REGISTRATIONS AFTER 11/8/26 WILL NOT BE GUARANTEED A SHIRT.  VIRTUAL REGISTRATIONS AFTER 11/8/26 WILL NOT BE GUARANTEED A SHIRT OR MEDAL.  Virtual packets will be mailed ay the latest after the final completion date of 12/31/26.
