SUMMARY:Village Creek 10K/25K Trail Run
DESCRIPTION:New Date!\nWelcome to year 13 \nVillage Creek the Legend! Lace ‘em up tight! Like we always say\, “Mud\, Sweat\, and Tears!” That’s what you will find here at Village Creek State Park. The 31st and 2nd largest in Arkansas. Located just 6 miles south of Wynne\, Village Creek State Park encompasses nearly 7\,000 acres. We have an amazing multi-use trail system that is virtually untouched by the running community most of the year. Equestrian\, Mountain Bike\, and Hiking Trails combine to form a little over 26 miles of manicured sweetness atop the geologic anomaly know as Crowley’s Ridge. \nOur race features a multitude of ups and downs\, both physically and emotionally! Your day will consist of creeks\, mud\, leaves\, sticks\, steep ridgelines\, and our infamous rolling pipeline. All the while a tub of buttercream icing and warm homemade cinnamon rolls wait for you at the finish. \nThe start/finish sits at the edge of our lower campground and boasts some of the most pristine bath houses of any state park! You can camp so close to the start line that all ya gotta do is roll over toot\, tinkle\, brush\, and run! If cabins are more your thing\, no fear! Village Creek has a number of 5 star cabins available just up the hill towards Lake Dunn. \nThe 25k has a 6 hour time limit. You have approximately 3hr and 15min to make it to our bib check at the 25k turn around. If you have not checked out of the turn around by the 3:15 mark chances are you aren’t gonna get a cinnamon roll….I kid\, I kid! You just won’t get a hot one! \nThe 25K is an out and back route starting at the bicycle entrance to the following markers 13\,14\,15\,16\,17\,18\, north past 19 towards 20 where you will reach the turnaround. Aid stations will be at approximate half way points for both races. This is a cup free race! Bring your own bottles! The 10k route coming soon!

SUMMARY:21st Annual Buffalo Headwaters Challenge
DESCRIPTION:The Buffalo Headwaters Challenge presented by Adventure Subaru is a three-day\, all-inclusive\, “off the grid” mountain bike and trail running festival. It includes 5 meals\, libations\, primitive tent and RV camping\, live music\, and amazing trails\, highlighted by the annual “Challenge” ride and this year the new run on Saturday\, January 31st\, 2026. The “Challenge” ride consists of a 35-mile semi-supported backcountry mountain bike experience\, a 30 K and 15 K challenge run with a few marked bailouts along the way. It’s a ride\, not a race… just finishing is winning. During your ride\, you will possibly encounter DJs in the woods and of course\, the infamous grilled cheese and soup at the iconic fire tower. Additionally\, on Sunday\, you will have the option to join the gravel challenge group ride to the Buffalo Outdoor Center or use your wristband at the Buffalo Outdoor Center\, which will provide you with free shuttles for the DH runs all day. \nImportant! This is our annual fundraiser for the club and goes a long way in providing the needed tools and materials that go into the 10\,000 hours plus volunteers put in each year. A large portion of this years proceeds will go directly into trail maintenance at the headwaters. With that in mind this is a non refundable event. If weather becomes an issue we will reschedule event to a later date but will not be offering refunds. Thank you for your understanding. \nAll attendees will receive a pair of custom event socks. \nComplete your challenge and receive your patch once you check back in. \nWe will have post ride yoga on Saturday. \n-A limited number of primitive RV spots are available for an additional $25.00. (no hook ups\, you are paying for the space) \n-Tickets will be limited in quantity. \n-For 5 meals\,  live bands\, free beverages\,  killer routes \, amazing humans\, and a special swag bag you aren’t going to find a better deal! \nDinners provided by Phat Tire Bike Shop\, Pro Chill and  OORC. \nThanks for you continued support and much gratitude to all of our sponsors. \nLunch at the fire tower provided by The Buffalo Outdoor Center \nBeverages by Trailside Coffee Co\, Fossil Cove Brewery\, Liquor World and the OORC \nBreakfasts provided by Ozark Natural Foods and the OORC.

We’ve had sunny skies\, rain\, fog\, and sometimes all during the same event. Snow is possible\, but not anticipated. \nBe prepared to face all that the weather can throw at you! \nWill I be running in the dark? \nYes.  You should bring a light source and back up batteries.  At this time of year\, the average sunrise is 6:45 AM and the average sunset is 6:00 PM. \nWhat do I need to bring? \nAt very minimum\, all racers will be required to carry a water bottle or hydration pack AND a light (flashlight or headlamp) at dark. Due to the remote nature of parts of the trail\, runners will not be allowed on the course without a way to carry water. We strongly suggest you carry a backup light with you at all times.  If you’re wondering about additional gear\, check out this video from Runner’s World. A cell phone is recommended and and service is good on the majority of the course. \nHow tough is the course? \nTerrain = very hilly\, total climb between 100 and 200 feet per mile (5\,000 – 8\,000 feet in 50 miles)\nSurface = trail or dirt road with substantial rocks\, roots and/or ruts

SUMMARY:Rose Creek Walk
DESCRIPTION:This is a Rose Creek Initiative Outing!\n\n\nIf you have any questions\, please email Mike Sprague at msprague17@hotmail.com\, or call or text him at 406-370-4792.\n\n\n\nMeet at: the warehouse parking lot (2226 North Cantrell Road\, Little Rock\, AR 72202) near Gill Street and near where Rose Creek enters the Arkansas River. From there we will shuttle to the Burger King/Fire Station area on Markham Street and walk the creek back.\n\nThis walk is a great adventure that journeys down Rose Creek through the Capitol View-Stifft Station Neighborhood (and beyond). Following the creek is quite a trek and goes through a diversity of landscapes that can’t be seen elsewise. It’s great way to get to know the creek and the area!\n\nThis 2½-to-3-mile walk is mostly in the creek\, and much of it is on rocky\, uneven surfaces.\n\nPlan for about two hours\, and because much of it will be in the water\, tall rubber boots are recommended.

SUMMARY:One Hour Track Run
DESCRIPTION:New Date!\nRace hosted by the River Valley Runners\n•Kicks off the 2025 Grand Prix Season!\n•Run on a standard 400 meter track\n•Grand Prix Championship Event\n•Two separate heats to decrease track congestion\n\n\nDay of race registration: $35.00\n\n\nChili and all the fixin’s will be provided\n\n\nThe first One Hour Track Run was held in 1983 as part of Grand Prix II. This run took place in Russellville at the Arkansas Tech University track. The One Hour Track Run was eliminated after one year as the Grand Prix was trimmed to a core of four races for most of the 1980’s. Later incarnations of a One Hour Track Run were located in El Dorado and later Camden\, Arkansas\, and were a Grand Prix staple in the 1990’s. After 1998\, the One Hour Track Run ceased to be run until the Long Distance Running Committee decided to revive it as part of the 25th Running of the Grand Prix in 2006. Fittingly\, the One Hour Track Run returned to Russellville for Grand Prix XXV\, and was held at the Russellville High School Track. \nThe course is a standard\, 400 meter track. Very Flat! Aid stations every 1/4 mile! \nONE HOUR TRACK RUN WILL BE AT Russellville High School\, Russellville\,AR 72802 \nENHANCED SECURITY FROM RPD WILL BE PROVIDED DURING THE RACE AND IN THE PARKING LOTS
