SUMMARY:Big Mountain Enduro - Mount Nebo
DESCRIPTION:Mount Nebo State Park is a 1\,750 ft mountain escape in the Arkansas River Valley’s heart and part of the Monument Trails system. Stepping out on the butte\, you will be immersed in spectacular views that set the stage for mountain bike trails for everyone\, and include waterfalls\, pine forests\, winding rock gardens\, and gravity–down and up. The drive-up Highway 155 will begin your memorable trip to the mountaintop (Trailers longer than 24ft not recommended). \nNew for 2023 and in conjunction with BME and Jagged Axe Trail Designs\, fresh trails will be built for expert-level riders in line with the technical nature that suits a BME event. Stay tuned for updates on the trail-building progress\, which will break ground in early winter. \nLoop together many different trail routes\, ranging from beginner to expert. Start at the top or the bottom and pick your own adventure. The Miller’s Goat green trail runs a bit easier counterclockwise and connects the expert and advanced routes. The Chickalah and Hayes Creek Run Downhill are the only bike-only trails so be mindful of the other users. The Ox-Pull Climb trail is a biker-up hill-only trail. Hikers can go both directions. \nIf you’re interested in maximum gravity\, shuttle by dropping off at Sunrise and rolling down the Sunrise Loop\, across Miller’s Goat to the Hayes Creek Run downhill\, and getting picked up at the base of the mountain for a 3.5 mile\, 1\,100ft descent. \nThe park features a public swimming pool\, cabins\, a campground\, a visitor center with a bike wash station\, and countless miles of hiking trails. \nThe Big Mountain Enduro presented by Specialized is the premier Enduro tour in North America and currently holds stops in the most picturesque vacation destinations across the United States. This highly anticipated race series offers some of the biggest and most challenging mountain bike terrain in the country that typically includes a combination of backcountry and lift-accessed stages for each tour stop. The 2023 BME national series will showcase Enduro racing at its finest while hosting many of the top professional mountain bikers and teams. New for this year\, BME will bring racers two new venues\, while always catering to all types of riders in an entertaining festival atmosphere for the entire family and local communities to enjoy. \n

SUMMARY:Heather Ridley-Fleeman Battle for Hope
DESCRIPTION:ABOUT BATTLE FOR HOPE \nThe Heather Ridley-Fleeman Battle for Hope is a run/walk event held the first Saturday in May each year at the Old Tiger Stadium in Bentonville. The event began in 2005 as a way to honor the life of Heather Ridley-Fleeman and raise awareness of colon cancer. Heather died in 2004 at the young age of 28 after a long battle with colon cancer. \nThe following year\, a close group of Heather’s family and friends partnered with Hope Cancer Resources to help make sure other cancer patients have access to the care they need during treatment and to educate individuals that early detection does save lives. \nDuring her life\, Heather was a member of the Walmart supplier community. She was also dedicated to supporting agencies that work to help cancer patients through treatments and make state-of-the-art cancer research locally accessible. \n By participating in Battle for Hope\, you can help Hope Cancer Resources continue the mission of providing cancer support and education to cancer patients in Northwest Arkansas. Register online today. All proceeds from Battle for Hope go directly to Hope Cancer Resources. Individual runners and walkers\, as well as teams are encouraged to participate. Sponsorships are available as well. \n Click here to view the Battle for Hope policies and restrictions
