SUMMARY:Hare Mountain 100
DESCRIPTION:The Hare Mountain 100 is a point-to-point 100-mile run\, that incorporates 2 scenic spur loops\, along the Ozark Highlands Trail in the Northwestern part of Arkansas across the Boston Mountain segment. Hare Mountain is the highest point on the OHT at nearly 2400 feet. This segment covers 164 miles of rocky\, steep\, and rugged forest with several creek crossings\, waterfalls\, bluffs\, and beautiful sandstone outcrops. I’m utilizing 100 miles of the most challenging sections of this segment. \nBeing born and raised in Cass\, AR I grew up on this trail. Spending hours of my life on and off the trail running\, hiking\, and exploring. It has been a dream of mine since I got back into ultrarunning to bring a 100-mile race to this amazing trail. I also hope to add a point-to-point 100k and 50 mile to the same trail segment in the spring. \nRunners must sign a waiver\, perform 8 hours of trail work\, or opt out of trail work for a $100 donation to the Ozark Highlands Trail Association in order to participate in this event. It is preferable that you complete the trail work on the OHT if possible\, especially the most remote and neglected areas. Please send proof of trail work to haremountain100@gmail.com. \nI am not making it a qualification but I certainly prefer that you have run a 50 miler on trail with at least 5000 feet of vertical gain. This race will be extremely difficult. Measurements taken by GPS and mapping have put elevation gain between 20\,000-22\,000 feet. Participants who need to drop will be given credit for a 50 miler or 100k if they reach those distances. The cutoff for the race is 35 hours. \nMaps\, directions\, lodging\, aid stations\, etc will be available soon.\nFollow here for the latest updates: \nhttps://www.facebook.com/groups/216147591049546/\nhttps://www.instagram.com/haremountain100/\nhttps://ultrasignup.com/register.aspx?did=103630
