SUMMARY:Ouachita Challenge
DESCRIPTION:The Ouachita Challenge Race Association has been working hard behind the scenes to bring you a fun and safe 2024 Ouachita Challenge. We are in the final stages of getting our permits and approvals for the event. The OC must still follow state and local guidelines. Check the OC Facebook page for any changes or updates. \nThere are a couple of changes for this year’s OC. The biggest change is a Saturday Gravel Grinder. The gravel course will be using some of the same roads the tour course used\, roads that are parallel to the trails and the same aid stations. The Gravel Grinder will be 100k in distance. Map coming soon. \nThe Sunday Mountain Bike Race will remain the same. \nWe also have a category for those daring enough to sign up for both days. \nThe wait list will be on the Ouachita Challenge FaceBook page this year instead of the bulletin board. \nWe are still having breakfast each morning as well as Saturday night dinner.  We will be able to seat 19 family groups in the school cafeteria at a time and will have some outdoor seating as well.\nRiders will still be able to sleep in the gym and it will be and will be set up to keep safe distancing from each other.  Tent camping will still be allowed on the school grounds but safe distancing needs to be maintained.

SUMMARY:Death by 5k
DESCRIPTION:Death by 5k is coming BACK to N. Little Rock! \nRunStrong Event’s signature 24 hour challenge\, Death by 5k requires participants to run ten 5ks starting every 2.5 hours. The first 5k starts at 8 am\, and subsequent 5ks start at 1030\, 1\, 330\, 6\, 830\, 11\, 130\, 4\, and 630 am. Participants need to be present at the start of each 5k\, and have that 5k finished prior to the start of the subsequent 5k. This challenge is designed to test participants mentally and physically with physical fatigue\, sleep deprivation\, and running in the dark. (Headlamps\, hand lights\, or some other form of illumination will be required) \nDue to the restoration work being done after the tornado damage\, the exact location of the race hq and the 5k route may be changed for safety. Tentatively\, as in the inaugural race in 2022\, Death by 5k N. Little Rock will start and finish at the rugby field at the Burns Park soccer complex\, and will be run on paved paths in the park (white oak trail)\, and including the Arkansas River Trail. Race hq will be at the rugby field. This is where food and drinks will be available. \nIn between each 5k\, participants will be able to sleep in their cars\, or to put up tents in the grass of the rugby field. There is plenty of space for pop up or camping tents. Parking will be in the soccer field parking lots across Tournament Drive from race hq \nThere will be 5 meals\, each including hot food\, served over the course of the event. Meal times will be 830a\, 130p\, 630p\, 1130p\, and 420a. There will also be plenty of snack food and drinks available throughout the event. You will not go hungry or thirsty at a RunStrong Event. \nParticipants will receive an event shirt\, along with Death by 5k swag (Bag\, coozie\, sticker\, cup). Finishers will receive one of our coveted coffin awards with some surprise swag inside. \nRegistration will be limited initially to 125 participants. After that\, a waitlist will be enabled and we will open spots if/when they become available or if we decide to expand the field.

SUMMARY:Ozark Highlands Endurance Run
DESCRIPTION:Sylamore Ranger District\nThe 1.2-million acre Ozark-St. Francis National Forests offer endless opportunities for adventure. As one of America’s most scenic and picturesque areas\, the Ozark-St. Francis provides a lot of the “natural” in the Natural State of Arkansas. \nOzark Highlands 50K\nThe course will start out at Norfork River Resort and proceed towards the Ozark Highlands Trail via 2.7 miles of rolling roads. The trail traverses through numerous hollows and takes participants across some of the most rugged and remote terrain in the Ozark National Forest. Runners will follow the Ozark Highlands Trail-Sylamore Section on an out & back course. There are three aid stations on the route and drop bags are allowed at the Twin Creek Aid Station\, which is also the turnaround for the shorter 35K course. \nTwin Creek 35K\nThis course option will follow the same route as the Ozark Highlands 50K\, but turnaround at Twin Creek Road Aid Station. Great idea for those wanting to experience the Sylamore Ranger District trails\, but not quite ready for the 50K.

Access to bathrooms and showers are available. No electricity or water hookups. \nLots of hotel options in Hot Springs (27 miles east of race start/finish) \n  \nCancellation Policy\n\nIf forces beyond our control lead to the cancellation of this event\, it is possible that you will receive no refund of your entry fee. We will\, however\, endeavor to issue refunds or make other compensation to the extent funds are available to do so. \nThe occurrences that can cause a race cancellation are not predictable. Cancellations could potentially occur when there is a serious threat to the safety of runners and volunteers such as forest fires\, severe winter weather\, tornadoes\, or in the event of a national emergency. These generally occur with little advance notice. As race organizers\, we are at the mercy of these events. Run LOViT Endurance Events is a volunteer\, non-profit organization. Our events are costly because they provide quality support\, apparel\, and awards. We cannot absorb all of these costs and take the risk of cancellation by ourselves. Consequently\, the effect of our policy is that the entrants to an event must share in the risk that it will be cancelled. Please understand this when you enter our event. \nHere is the policy we expect to follow when a case is subject to cancellation. Each situation is different so these are only guidelines. \nKeeping You Informed: We will try to keep entrants informed when there is a potential for cancellation. We will likely use email\, Facebook\, Twitter and our website to do this. \nReimbursement: In the event that a race is cancelled\, we cannot promise any refund. We will first pay all outstanding bills associated with the event that we cannot cancel or legally avoid. If there is money left over after paying the expenses we have incurred\, we will try to make a reimbursement to runners from the remaining entry fees available to us. The closer the cancellation is to the race date\, the less likely there will be any reimbursement and if a race is stopped while in progress\, there will be no reimbursement. If the amount of the refund is small\, we may not bother with it\, or we may only give credit toward future entry fees. \nRescheduling: Rescheduling the event is unlikely given the complexity of putting on an ultra or trail run\, and that there are other events scheduled for other weekends\, but may be done on a case by case basis. If we do reschedule\, we will not likely be able to give you a refund if you withdraw from the event. \nIf I need to cancel my entry due to injury\, illness or scheduling conflict\, can I get a refund? See the refund schedule policy at www.runlovit.com/details.
