SUMMARY:Scorchin' Squirrel Trail Run
DESCRIPTION:The Scorching’ Squirrel is a trail race through Ferncliff Camp and Conference Center’s 1200 acres located just 10 miles west of Little Rock.  There are 4 distance options: a 10k (1 loop)\, 11.5 mile (2 loops)\, 15.5 mile (3 loops) or 19.5 mile (4 loops). All distances are approximate.  Each loop passes through 1 full aid station and one water drop.   There will be refreshments at the end with a cook out at the pool.  Please bring stuff to share although Fleet Feet Little Rock and Ferncliff will provide burgers and hot dogs.  We will begin serving food at 10 AM.  No glass containers please.  No pets. \nThis is a great race for heat training and for trying out trail running with the shorter distances.  There is quite a bit of incline throughout the course and a few water crossings in wet weather. \nAll the distances end back at the start of the race\, which is at the Ferncliff pool pavilion.  The pool will be open after the race.  It has a large covered pavilion and runners can cool off and enjoy some food and refreshments.  There are lots of changing stalls. \nAny proceeds from the event will support Ferncliff Camp and Conference Center.  If you’d like to reserve lodging the evening before the event call 501-821-3063 to reserve a room or cabin. \nIt takes about 25 volunteers to do this event right.  Would you like to volunteer and have a great time supporting runners?  If so please fill out this very brief volunteer application:  https://forms.gle/HeqTSnAQR2WghPqn6 \nClick Here to view the approximate route:  https://www.plotaroute.com/route/1404552 \nStrava course map for one loop completed:  https://www.strava.com/activities/5680121722?share_sig=6F664A841628868806&utm_medium=social&utm_source=ios_share \nAll distances begin: 7:00 am with a  6:50 am Mandatory Race Briefing

By helping families overcome challenges like unemployment\, unstable housing\, and lack of education\, we can lead families down a path toward increased stability and\, ultimately\, self-sufficiency. \nJoin us for a family friendly\, multi “bike”\, ride in our beautiful Hot Springs!\nYou will have the option to ride your road bike only\, MTB only\, or BOTH!! Yes\, we will have routes that include both road AND mountain. We will have a shuttle for your bikes at the exchange location. \nAfter you have worked up a good appetite come celebrate your finish at our After Party. (Farmers Market) Your “tour” registration includes food and drink\, t-shirt\, and other awesome swag. Participants are asked to bring their own comfort medications as needed. \nHelmets are required for ALL riders regardless of the route you ride or your age. \nPlease download and save the route you plan to ride!!! All the routes will be well marked but it always helps to have the route on your bike computer! All routes are below. \nFull Tour de Salvation\nIf you plan to ride the Full Tour route\, you have the option to bring two different bikes. Many riders will ride the road route with a road bike (or gravel bike) and then switch to their mountain bike (MTB). Or you can complete the entire ride on your MTB!  If you plan to switch bikes\, remember to bring the shoes you need for each bike! You will need to “check in” your mountain bike and MTB shoes by 6:45 am on the day of the event. Your MTB will be shuttled to the switch point. Once you switch bikes at the trail\, you will leave your road bike at the switch point and it will be shuttled back to the start point. After completing the mountain bike trail ride at the Pullman Trailhead\, you will simply ride your MTB on the road for 2.5 miles back through downtown (bathhouse row) to the Farmer’s Market. SUMMARY:Arkansas NICA Race 1 - Plateau Region
DESCRIPTION:One of the great things about a NICA League\, which separates us from other youth cycling development programs\, is we produce our own youth-specific events. This means we pick out race venues and work directly with landowners and managers to produce the highest quality youth development racecourses and events. The student-athletes get a stage of their own\, away from adult competitions\, and we strive for safety and fun above all other factors. \nThe Arkansas League will produce a total of 7 events in 2024.  On our Time Trial weekend we will have a special Race Clinic Event on that Saturday aimed at getting more girls on bikes in addition to allowing newer riders have a practice race\, attend a race clinic and do their first mass start.  Followed by a Prelude Time Trial and 4 races in the fall.  New for 2024 we have 2 Regions.  Plains (Central\, South and NE Arkansas) and Plateaus (NWA and OK generally).    The competitive racing will consist of 2 regional events\, and 2 All league Events.   We will crown regional champions at the end of Race 3 based of total points and also have a true “winner take all” State Championship Event at Race 4.  Athletes must have attended atleast 2 prior races to be eligible to win the State Championship.
