DESCRIPTION:Chasin Payson is a Mountain Bike challenge race. Competitors will start at 2 PM on Saturday\, October 26th\, and race as long as possible until 6 PM at Coler on a 3-mile course. Ride your pace and chase the leader. E-bikes are welcome and Juniors (16+) can participate. It’s a Red Bull event so there is a min. age requirement. You do not have to be fit or an athlete. There will be a donation can to cover the cost of the permit $530.\n7:00-7:45 AM Runner check in at Fat Jack’s Oyster Sports Bar & Grill\, 101 Central Ave\, Hot Springs\, AR 71901\n7:45 AM Mandatory pre-race briefing\n7:55 AM Runners walk across Central Avenue and assemble at the Canyon Trailhead next to the Mountain Valley Water building\n8:00 AM Race Start\nRunners must remain on trails at all time. Bushwhacking is not allowed.\nRunners must run in single file and pass only when there is room.\nRunners must be courteous and yield right of way to other trail users. The trail is used by hikers\, tourists and even horse riders. We do not have exclusive use of the trails. The National Park was kind enough to allow this race to be held provided we do not interfere with other users of the trail.\nIf you come upon a horse\, do not startle it. Make sure the horse & rider know you are there before you get too close.\nIf nature calls\, make sure you leave no trace.\nThe trail crosses 6 roads. Use caution. Stop and look both ways. You will not run on the road. You will just cross it.\nThe last 1/4 mile is on sidewalks down Fountain St. and up Central Ave. Use caution. The finish is at Fat Jack’s.\nThe course is well marked. DESCRIPTION:Join us for a bike camping overnighter! Starting near downtown Bentonville ( exact location coming soon)\, we’ll ride 6 miles on gravel to Bike Camp Pea Ridge. We’ll camp there overnight\, returning to our starting location in the morning. \nCampers need to bring all of their own camping gear\, however\, we have some equipment available to loan if needed. Campers are encouraged to carry their own gear\, however a support vehicle will be available for any gear that isn’t able to be carried on your bicycle. \nAll Bodies on Bikes will provide the route\, light refreshments and snacks at camp\, campfire wood and s’mores supplies. Campers should bring their own dinner\, breakfast\, and snacks. SUMMARY:Arkansas NICA Race 4 - Champions Weekend
DESCRIPTION:One of the great things about a NICA League\, which separates us from other youth cycling development programs\, is we produce our own youth-specific events. This means we pick out race venues and work directly with landowners and managers to produce the highest quality youth development racecourses and events. The student-athletes get a stage of their own\, away from adult competitions\, and we strive for safety and fun above all other factors. \nThe Arkansas League will produce a total of 7 events in 2024.  On our Time Trial weekend we will have a special Race Clinic Event on that Saturday aimed at getting more girls on bikes in addition to allowing newer riders have a practice race\, attend a race clinic and do their first mass start.  Followed by a Prelude Time Trial and 4 races in the fall.  New for 2024 we have 2 Regions.  Plains (Central\, South and NE Arkansas) and Plateaus (NWA and OK generally).    The competitive racing will consist of 2 regional events\, and 2 All league Events.   We will crown regional champions at the end of Race 3 based of total points and also have a true “winner take all” State Championship Event at Race 4.  Athletes must have attended atleast 2 prior races to be eligible to win the State Championship.

DESCRIPTION:Prepare yourself to run (or walk) for your lives! This will be a charity 5k with all proceeds going to Lucky Dawg Rescue Inc. This will be taking place on Sunday\, October 20th. There will be vendors there starting at 1pm\, a dog and dog/human duo costume contest at 2pm\, and the run will start at 3pm. There will even be a few zombies! Zombies\, you say? Oh yes\, ZOMBIES! Unfortunately\, for the safety of racers and dogs\, we will not allow dogs in the race event. If you decide to bring your animal\, they must be leashed at all times! \nBASIC SURVIVAL\nBefore the race\, you will be given flags just like the overly intimidating game of flag football. These flags represent your health. \nThe zombies want to take your flags and maybe eat your brains.\nIf you lose all your health flags\, you will be considered infected!\nIf you finish with a flag\, you will be awarded with the survivor prize.\n*NOTE* If you form and run with a TEAM\, and if any member of that team survives with a flag\, the ENTIRE team receives the “Survivor” medal!  The perfect reason to recruit your friends to be Zombie-fodder! Teams must consist of no more/less than 4 members. \nWHAT YOU’RE UP AGAINST\nThere will be zombies. Their job is to chase you and eat you — but mainly go after your health\, in the form of your flag belt. Avoid the zombies to keep your health flags.\nUse speed\, strategy and your intact brains to make it to the FINISH LINE “alive” with at least ONE FLAG INTACT. If you finish with zero health flags\, this means the zombies have successfully transformed you into the “undead”. There will be a start line\, and a finish line\, and the opportunity to avoid Zombies in between.

DESCRIPTION:Who We Are: Healthy Kids Running Series is a five (5) week running program in the spring and fall for kids Pre-K through 8th grade. Each HKRS Series takes place once a week and offers age-appropriate running events including the 50 & 75 yard dashes\, the 1/4 mile\, the 1/2 mile and the 1 mile run. Kids will earn points for each race they complete based on their finish. \nPricing: The registration fee covers the entire five (5) weeks of the Series which includes race bibs for each week\, a runner shirt\, a finisher medal and any sponsor giveaways. Registration is non-refundable and non-transferable. Online Early Bird registration increases three weeks prior to the first race event. \nChallenger: This Series offers a Challenger Division which is an adaptive 75 yard race for children with disabilities and/or special needs. This allows for parents\, siblings\, and friends to be on the course with runners to provide support as well as bringing their own supportive devices such as crutches\, braces\, wheelchairs\, etc. to be used by runners. \nMakeup Date Information: 10/20/2024 \nSingle Day Racing: Single day race registration opens one hour prior to the start of each race. The registration fee covers one single race to be run on the day of registration\, race bib\, and a runner shirt while supplies last. Shirt sizing and availability is not guaranteed for single day racers. ALL single day registrations should be completed onsite at the race location. Single day racers will have the option to upgrade to the full series (see tab at the top of the page for instructions). There is a strict no-refund and no-transfer policy. \nAwards: All participants receive a medal on Week 5! This will be a great time to run and see the fall colors at their peak. This is also the season for hearing the elk bugle throughout Ponca and the Boxley Valley. After the race you could hike the Lost Valley Trail\, Hawksbill Craig\, The Buffalo River Trail or go see triple falls within just a few minutes drive. Directions to the nearest trails will be in everyone’s grab bags to make this a full family fun day. \nProceeds from the race will be supporting the Paige Slape Memorial Scholarship Fund. The fund\, established in 2008\, honors the memory of Alyssa Paige Slape. She was extremely active in all functions at Jasper High School\, Newton County\, Arkansas\, an outstanding student deeply loved and respected by students\, faculty\, and anyone who had been fortunate enough to know her. \nHer family and friends felt the best way to honor and remember Paige would be the creation of a fund to help the type of student and individual that she so personified. \nEach year\, three students from the area will be given a scholarship in whatever amount the fund can afford to provide. This fund is a nonprofit organization and all members volunteer their services with compensation.

The event will also feature a day of rides and experiences in \nBentonville\, Arkansas\, a thriving city that has emerged in recent years as a leading cycling destination. \nWhere: All meetings\, events and rides will take place in the heart of Bentonville\, Arkansas. \nWhen: The Summit will take place on October 16-17 with rides and tours on the 18th. Additionally\, this \nevent will be timed to occur during Big Sugar Classic presented by Life Time with events taking place \nprior to and following the Summit. \nHistory: While this will be the first Cycling Experience Summit\, many of the attendees have been \ninvolved in the Bicycle Tour Network and the National Bicycle Tourism Conference that took place \nannually prior to the COVID-19 Pandemic. SUMMARY:Healthy Kids Running Series Fall 2024
DESCRIPTION:Who We Are: Healthy Kids Running Series is a five (5) week running program in the spring and fall for kids Pre-K through 8th grade. Each HKRS Series takes place once a week and offers age-appropriate running events including the 50 & 75 yard dashes\, the 1/4 mile\, the 1/2 mile and the 1 mile run. Kids will earn points for each race they complete based on their finish. \nPricing: The registration fee covers the entire five (5) weeks of the Series which includes race bibs for each week\, a runner shirt\, a finisher medal and any sponsor giveaways. Registration is non-refundable and non-transferable. Online Early Bird registration increases three weeks prior to the first race event. \nChallenger: This Series offers a Challenger Division which is an adaptive 75 yard race for children with disabilities and/or special needs. This allows for parents\, siblings\, and friends to be on the course with runners to provide support as well as bringing their own supportive devices such as crutches\, braces\, wheelchairs\, etc. to be used by runners. \nMakeup Date Information: 10/20/2024 \nSingle Day Racing: Single day race registration opens one hour prior to the start of each race. The registration fee covers one single race to be run on the day of registration\, race bib\, and a runner shirt while supplies last. Shirt sizing and availability is not guaranteed for single day racers. ALL single day registrations should be completed onsite at the race location. Single day racers will have the option to upgrade to the full series (see tab at the top of the page for instructions). There is a strict no-refund and no-transfer policy. \nAwards: All participants receive a medal on Week 5! FROM PINE BLUFF OR LITTLE ROCK\, TAKE THE NEW HWY 167  FROM I-530 PASSING SHERIDAN AND THEN EAST ON HWY 46 1 MILE TO THE COMMUNITY CENTER.  BE VERY\, VERY\, CAREFUL CROSSING THE BYPASS ON THE ARKY\, GOING OUT OF SHERIDAN AND RETURNING. The 52nd annual Joe Weber Arky 100 has four ride options: 25\, 50\, 62\, and the famed 100 mile course and now a 50 mile gravel route also. All routes are on low traffic roads through Grant and Dallas Counties. We have long sleeve cotton poly shirts. Sheridan is at the intersection of US 270 and 167\, 31 miles south of Little Rock. The Community Center is on Hwy 46 S\, 1 mile southwest of town. . (follow signs for the Community Center at 1511 S. Rose St. or Grant County Museum just before it.) From LR or Pine Bluff\, you can take the new 167 bypass and exit at Hwy. 46 and go east\, back toward town about 1 mile.  Route Maps can be printed in advance in the Forum at arkansasbicycleclub.org \nBicycle helmets are required.  The 50\, 62\, 100 and gravel rides begin at 8:30 a.m. Twenty-fiver milers will start at 8:40 after the long riders and are welcome to start by 10:00 a.m. The course closes at 3:30 p.m. with riders on their own afterwards.
