SUMMARY:Doom
DESCRIPTION:Welcome to the 4th edition of Ozark Gravel Doom – the premier bikepacking event of Arkansas! \nThis is not for the faint of heart; it’s a proper Ozark backcountry experience. Forest Service and County roads get ROWDY. A hardtail mountain bike with 2.2″ tires or bigger is the general recommendation. If you’re a fan of underbiking\, you won’t be stopped but you’ve been warned. \nResupply runouts are one of the most notable challenges of this event. A combo of limited store hours and tiny “towns” take the logistics to a heightened level. \nBelow are the tentative routes. Changes will be minor if any – water levels can attribute to this. Expect some water crossings no matter what. \nDoom  \nhttps://ridewithgps.com/routes/45392659 \nDespair \nhttps://ridewithgps.com/routes/45393331 \nDismay  \nhttps://ridewithgps.com/routes/48643965 \nThe start/finish venue is Horseshoe Canyon Ranch. Vehicles can be parked here for the entirety of the event and there’s plenty of camping for everyone! Cabins are also available for booking. We blocked off cabins Friday\, Saturday and Sunday night for this event so you’ll have to call to make a reservation. Just mention you’re participating in Doom and they’ll let you book anything that’s still available! Camping is first come\, first serve – but they won’t run out of space. They’re actively working on an additional campground that will have reservable sites as well (2025 TBD). Horseshoe Canyon Ranch day rates\, meal pricing\, and other amenities & activities can be found via the link below. \nhttps://www.horseshoecanyon.com/ \nDoom & Despair riders will be required to carry a tracking device and register via Trackleaders (this happens closer to the event) so please be aware an additional cost will come up apart from this event registration. Renting ends up being around $80 and providing your own ends up being around $30. \nDoom & Despair riders get gremlin bells the morning of the event. These have to be attached to the bike in some form or fashion throughout the ride. \nDismay was added to get more people in on the party! Tracking is optional. \nFull refunds available before March 1st\, 2025; no refunds after that. You may transfer your registration to someone else or you can defer as credit to a future event. \n*This is a self-supported event. You will be given loads of emails as the event date approaches to set you up for success and to answer a lot of commonly asked questions. Despair & Dismay riders will be able to sleep in the backyard of an airbnb being rented in Oark for night one and use the facilities in the house (running water\, toilet\, etc.). If you need to be picked up on route it is your responsibility to figure it out. If it’s an emergency\, we will treat it as an emergency.

SUMMARY:Hoof it For Heifer
DESCRIPTION:Description\nHoof it For Heifer is a 20k trail run on the Boy Scouts of America Trail in Petit Jean State Park near Morrilton\, AR. On this trail\, you will pass through many of the diverse plant and animal habitats on Petit Jean Mountain – from the lush vegetation of Cedar Creek Canyon to the desert-like conditions of Seven Hollows. All are represented on this trail. The trail is technical and beautiful. \nThis is the 11th edition of Hoof it for Heifer\, and this race has raised more than $60\,000 for Heifer to date. All of the net proceeds from Hoof it for Heifer are given to Heifer International. Heifer International’s mission is to end world hunger while saving the earth. Heifer has worked in 125 different countries. For more information about Heifer International go to: www.heifer.org. \nIf you would like to volunteer to help us host this event\, or if you are bringing a loved one that would like to help\, please register to volunteer. There will be 2 aid stations\, 2 road crossings\, and a start/finish area that will all need volunteers.\nCheck in will be from 6AM to 7:45AM before the race. \nRegister now! This race has sold out for the last few years\, and the price increases are designed to encourage you to sign up soon. The capacity is 215 runners. \nCourse Description\nThis course is on extremely technical terrain\, and there are about 2000 vertical feet of gain. Although your watch may log a little less than 12 miles in the race\, it will feel more like 16 miles. The first ¾ of a mile are on relatively flat and open terrain. This will allow runners to space themselves out before hopping on the single track. The first aid station comes at the 4.8 mile mark after a 300 foot climb out of the Blue Hole crossing. The second at station comes at the 9.3 mile mark after you complete the 7 Hollows Trail. You will cross a bridge 0.5 miles from the finish line. This is the time to turn on your afterburners and have a strong finish! You will finish at the same place you started. \nThe trails are mostly single track\, and passing runners may be hazardous. Please be courteous to one another and offer to let others by as they come up behind you. Also announce yourself as you approach hikers or other runners to let them know your there with a friendly “on your left” or “good morning”. We are all just out here to have fun and enjoy one another’s company! \nAid Stations\nThis is a cupless event! Remember Heifer’s mission is to end hunger while saving the earth. We plan to demonstrate this on a much smaller scale by providing you with much needed nutrition and eliminating excess waste. Please plan to bring your own collapsible cup or water bottle to fill at the aid stations. Aid stations will be at the 4.8 mile mark\, the 9.3 mile mark\, and at the finish (~12 miles). \nFinish Line\nAs in previous editions of Hoof it for Heifer\, you will receive a finisher medal as you cross the finish line\, and we will have refreshments and food to help you recover. We recognize the top 3 overall male\, top 3 overall female\, top master (40+) male\, top master female\, top senior (60+) male\, and top senior female. \nCancellation / Refund\nIf you registered but find out that you cannot run\, please let us know so that we can make your spot available for someone else. If you cancel before March 15\, you may receive a 50% refund\, or you may choose to defer to next year for a 75% credit towards next year’s race. \nWe are also allowing bib transfers through Ultrasignup this year. Ultrasignup provides you a link to edit your registration. There you can choose to transfer your bib to someone else by providing their name & email. The deadline for this is Tuesday before race day. \nSponsors Welcome!\nIf your business would like to sponsor Hoof it for Heifer this year\, please reach out to the race directors by clicking the “ask a question” button on the right side of the page. The tiers for sponsorship follow:\n$150 – Heifer Level Sponsor\n$500 – The Ark Level Sponsor\n$1500 – Presenting Sponsor \nThank You Wanda!\nWanda Eason started this race and directed Hoof it for Heifer from its inception in 2012 through 2021. Her core group of volunteers poured their lives into making this a truly meaningful event. Despite passing the race directing responsibilities on\, she still comes back to volunteer at the finish line! Your new co race directors starting in 2022 are Carrie Satterfield and Shane Poland.

SUMMARY:Ouachita Trail 50
DESCRIPTION:The OT50 was started by a group of early Arkansas ultra runners who came together\, drew from their various ultra race experiences\, and committed to putting on a quality fifty miler in Arkansas. As the oldest enduring Arkansas Ultra Running Association event\, that intent lives on. The 50 mile and 50 km runs feature a picturesque climb over Pinnacle Mountain followed by an out-and-back traversing the rolling hills along the north shore of beautiful Lake Maumelle. Get ready for scenic\, rocky\, single-track as you tour Pinnacle Mountain State Park and the eastern part of the 222 mile Ouachita National Recreation Trail. \nProceeds benefit Pinnacle Mountain State Park and the Central Arkansas Trails Alliance.

SUMMARY:The Well Done Run
DESCRIPTION:The Well Done Run — a race for clean water — is an experiential 5K. During this family fun run\, participants carry an empty milk jug to the halfway mark\, fill it up with water from a creek and carry it back to the finish line to simulate what people around the world have to do daily to collect their needed water. \nWhile we do have some competitive racers\, most are not trying to set their personal best. Along the course\, you will see walkers\, runners and families with strollers. We want The Well Done Run to impact participants as they help to change the world through clean water. There are currently 771 million people around the world who lack access to safe water. We run and walk one day a year so that they don’t have to every day. \nThanks to our generous sponsors and participants over the past ten years\, we have been able to partner with Living Water International to provide 33 fresh water wells in 12 countries (Haiti\, Honduras\, Guatemala\, India\, Burkina Faso\, Liberia\, Kenya\, Zimbabwe\, Zambia\, Uganda\, Rwanda\, and Sierra Leone).

SUMMARY:Dirt Movement - Twin Mountain Gravel
DESCRIPTION:Twin Mountain Gravel\n\nA festival celebration of dirt and community. Our goal with Dirt Movement events is to create courses and experiences that are shared\, as much as possible\, for all participants. It doesn’t matter if you’re running 3 miles or riding 50 miles. We are one community with one purpose – get outside and move. \nWhat else do we all have in common? We love to eat (a lot)\, drink (beer or buch)\, and be merry (rock out to local music). \n  \n\nFormat\nChoose to bike or run the quiet backroads tucked between Springdale and Fayetteville. \nRunners at Twin Mountain Gravel will get to share the same creek crossings\, punchy climbs and tree canopies as the cyclists. \nCyclists will have the option of two course distances. Each of those distances has 2 single-track options\, allowing you to choose your own adventure based on how you feel. These variations come once you enter Lake Wedington and the Ozark National Forest. Choose one\, two\, or none of the single track sections while not veering from the courses and being separated from your friends. \n  \nOfficial Rule of 3 Training ride!!\nWe have partnered with Rule of 3 in making this the only Official training ride. Rule of 3 is almost exactly one month after Twin Mountain Gravel\, take this opportunity to hone your singletrack skills\, test out your bike setup and build your stoke! \n\n\nWhat Is Included in Registration?\nYour ticket to ride\, and run\, on some quiet Northwest Arkansas’ backroads! These scenic roads are a beautiful place to lose yourself – or find yourself. Either way\, we know you’ll love the courses. \nSwag\nThere are a lot of events in Northwest Arkansas and we appreciate you choosing to participate in ours. We want your commemorative item to be something that you’ll actually wear and will serve you well. We will have hats\, beanies\, and socks to choose from at packet pickup. You decide what you like and need most. And hey\, buy a t-shirt if you like them as much as we do. \nAid Stations and On-Route Support\nEach route will have multiple aid stations brought to you by some of our partners like The Meteor\, Rapha\, and more. In addition to the stationary aid\, you’ll find vehicles on course to help you out if things don’t go as planned. We got you. \n  \nTiming\nThe event will be timed but it isn’t a race. Runners will receive an overall time for their efforts. Cyclists will have two timed segments on their courses. One is in the second singletrack section and the second is on a gravel climb. The only award you’ll receive is from yourself knowing that you participated in a good time. \n  \nYou’re the DJ on course!\nIn your confirmation email you will receive a link to a Spotify playlist. Add songs that inspire you\, make you want to shake it\, or bring you back to earth. These tunes will be jamming on course throughout the day. It’s your event. \n  \nLive Music\nFeaturing The Meadow Makers and more coming soon. Each Dirt Movement event will have live bands from all around the region. We will be announcing the rest of the line up as we get closer! \n  \nFood and Drink\nNothing can bring a community together like a shared meal. Sitting down to connect and exchange stories of the day’s adventures over a plate of hot food and free beer from local breweries is key to a good time. \n  \nRaffle Giveaways\nWe’ll be raffling off high-quality prizes throughout the day courtesy of our sponsors. Must be present to win!
