DESCRIPTION:We are rolling out more Type 2 fun. Jackalope is stoked to partner with the city of Hot Springs to keep The Ouachita Triple Crown part of the Gudrun Northwoods Festival. Participants are encouraged to join in on the rest of the Gudrun activities and parties\, it is a great time in the Northwoods! \nThe Ouachita Triple Crown route was first mapped by Kenny Williams in 2019.  He wanted to link together three International Mountain Bike Association (IMBA) Epic Trails into one epic bikepacking route.  When connected by gravel roads\, the Ouachita Trail (OT)\, the Womble Trail\, and the Lake Ouachita Vista Trail (LOViT) create a circle around Lake Ouachita. \nIMBA Epic Trails are the best of the best\, and Arkansas has more of them that any other state.  The Ouachita Mountains\, composed of rocky ridges and narrow\, spring cooled valleys\, is the perfect landscape for an IMBA Epic Trail.  The mountains are wild\, beautiful\, and rugged. \nPARTICIPANTS MUST SIGN UP WITH TRACKLEADERS FOR THE EVENT! \nOctober 1st will be the last day for half refund for anyone that needs to withdraw. An event shirt or requested shirt size will only be promised for participants registered by October 15th. \nHopefully there will not be a goddamned monsoon again this year……………….

This key segment between Water Works Road and LaHarpe Boulevard will complete a vital missing link in the trail system\, helping to Close the Loop for safer\, continuous access along the River Trail. \nThis is the section of the trail between Bruce Moore Drive (formerly Arch St.)\, behind City Hall\, to the Gill Street Bridge west of Dillard’s Headquarters on the north side of Cantrell Road. \nCity representatives will be available to discuss the design\, answer questions\, and collect feedback from the public. \n\n\n\nWhy It Matters\nCompleting the Arkansas River Trail enhances connectivity\, safety\, and recreation for all users—cyclists\, runners\, and pedestrians alike. This is a great run for beginners looking for a new challenge\, or for the experienced runner looking for a enjoyable fall race to train for. The course is a looped course\, with the 5k being one loop around the lake\, and the 10k will be two! The course will have a 2 hour time limit. Come and join us for a fun day at Lake Willastein\, celebrating and supporting the city of Maumelle! \nEvery finisher will receive a medal. Specific awards will be handed out to the top male and female finishers in the following age groups: 19 and under\, 20-29\, 30-39\, 40-49\, 50-59\, 60-69\, 70 and over for both the 5k and 10k. \nRegister before October 19\, 2025 to guarantee your T-shirt and medal! Set right here at Horseshoe Canyon Ranch\, it showcases everything that makes this place special—from the dramatic sandstone cliffs to the techy mountain biking terrain.\nAthletes will compete in teams of two and can choose to split up biking and running portions however they wish.\nThe race kicks off with a climbing segment: two routes per team\, with time deductions awarded for more difficult climbs. From there\, athletes will charge into a 15-mile mountain bike course through varied terrain\, all on ranch property\, followed by an 8K trail run that winds through the high and low points of the canyon. \nDiscounts for early registration from July-August! DESCRIPTION:The Possum at Woolly Hollow will be run on November 1st\, 2025 with a 7:00 AM start time on the roads and Huckleberry trail circumnavigating Lake Bennett. This is a 6 hour team event involving four participating runners. All 4 runners must run the first lap together. After that at least 1 runner must be on course as all times\, but up to all 4 runners can run. The only rule is entire teams must always stay together on course. Each lap is a 5k and upon completing the 5k the team will receive one entry per person into the post race drawing.

DESCRIPTION:Mid-South Races for Hope\, formerly known as the Mid-South Marathon is back for year 26 and we want you to join us! \nThe people of Cross County have always offered runners and walkers a refreshing escape from the hustle and bustle of corporate America. Rediscover what you love about running\, enjoy a slice of rural American country running and take in the vibrant fall colors of Crowley’s Ridge. While we are still recovering from the March 31\, 2023 tornado\, our community is building back and moving ahead. \nOur races are out and back races that wind through part of the historic district and continue out along the ridge through fields ripe for harvest. The start and finish lines will be at Wynne Baptist Church. Our race is certified and is a Boston Marathon qualifying race. We will have aid stations approximately every mile\, and port-o-potties are also located near each station! Each aid station will be supplied with Vaseline\, Gatorade\, fruit\, snacks\, and smiles. At the finish line we will serve the traditional championship BBQ plate supper for all finishers and their families. Come run in the country and let us show you some small-town southern hospitality. \nIn lieu of a pasta dinner\, we will work with locally owned restaurants to create pasta specials for the marathon weekend. DESCRIPTION:Join us November 1st for The Karen Wells Legacy 5K Run/Walk. All proceeds will go to Student Adventures to help local students fulfill their dream of international travel\, just like the students that Mrs. Wells served as a sponsor and educator.  Registration fee is $30 which includes a t-shirt.  There will be awards for each division’s top 3 overall.  We hope you will come join us to help honor the memory of Mrs. Karen Wells.  Check in time is 7:30 and race starts at 8:00.  Registrations after Wednesday\, October 29th at 3:00 p.m. will not be guaranteed a shirt.  Thank you!

SUMMARY:Chasing Zero 5K & 1 Mile Fun Run
DESCRIPTION:Join Project Zero’s mission to raise awareness about adoption\, build hope in kids and teens waiting in foster care to be adopted and connect forever families in Arkansas. Our goal is simple\, to fight for those children and advocate for them to find the right forever family\, until there are zero waiting children in Arkansas. \nIn the state of Arkansas alone\, there are over 3\,200 kids waiting in foster care. Through no fault of their own\, 200 of those children and teens have had their parental rights terminated and are waiting to be adopted. We believe there are NO unwanted children\, just unfound families and we are passionate about finding them! \nYOU MUST REGISTER BY OCTOBER 10th TO GUARANTEE RACE T-SHIRT & MEDALS!  Register NOW\, before it’s too late!                                                                                     Medals will be given out for the 5K & the 1 mile fun run! \nThere is a virtual race option.  It is for individuals that that are not in Central Arkansas or are not available the day of the run.  This allows them to support Project Zero through this fundraising effort.  Run a 5K in whatever town you are in at whatever time works best for you.  There is no place to input your time either.  This option allows you all the fun with no fuss.  You will not receive a shirt or medal as it is too pricey to ship. \nPACKET PICK-UP:  We will be set up at Rock City Running on Friday\, October 31st from 11am to 1pm if you would like to pick up your race packet early.  If not\, we will begin packet pick up at 7:00 am on Saturday\, November 1st at Crystal Hill Elementary.

SUMMARY:Beast of Burden
DESCRIPTION:Ozark Off-Road Cyclist and the Ozark Trail Runners unite to create the most epic 24 25 hour party you’ve ever experienced. Profits from this “race” will go to continued preservation and trail development on Mt. Kessler. Join us on November 2nd\, Mt. Kessler – Fayetteville\, Arkansas for a full day of partying in the dirt. Individuals or teams will take on the challenge to ride or run from 12pm on Saturday to 12pm on Sunday\, thanks to daylight savings time\, you get an extra hour for free! \nThe “Race” – 24 (+ 1 hour for free) hours of either mtb or trail running madness\, or….BOTH! The team/solo individual with the most laps wins. \nThe Course – The course will be comprised of 2 separate loops\, with participants rotating loops every 6 hours. Runners and riders will be on their own separate loops to minimize congestion. Each loop is roughly 4-6 miles long. One loop is easy\, one loop will have you dreaming cozy warmth of the campfire. \nThe Teams* – Teams must have a team captain (primary contact). Teams are either fully bike or fully run\, or dual sport and comprised of 2-4 participants on the Ultra team or 5-7 participants on the Endurance team (dual sport teams can have up to 8). You choose how much you want to work. Go for the win\, or occasionally exert yourself and spend the rest of the time throwing back Fossil Cove’s tasty beverages. 1 person does 90% of the work or split it evenly. It’s up to you! Each team will receive one timing chip (triathlon style band) that can only be exchanged in the Campout Zone. \nNote that run/ride teams will have 2 timing chips\, one can only used for running and one only for riding. So\, it is possible run/ride teams to have two participants on  the course at one time\, but only one of each discipline. \n*You can also choose to participate solo\, but remember\, no one asked you to do this. \nThe Party – Let’s be honest\, the whole thing is the party\, but since you asked. Dinner and breakfast provided. Trailside Coffee starting at when the bell tolls 12. Bumping tunes. Team Spirit competition.  Fire pits burning through the night and more to come. Also\, Rise Physical Therapy will keeping participants feeling fresh and limber\, while Phat Tire will be keeping them bikes uh’ rollin’\,
