DESCRIPTION:The Course\nNorthwest Arkansas has some of the best road riding in the United States. If you’ve ever ventured into the backroads\, you’ll find gravel roads unrivaled anywhere else on earth. Have you ridden the singletrack? It’s world-famous. \nWe thought we’d take these three paragons of NWA and wrap them into a brutally beautiful\, challenging\, and uncommon course. You’ll ride out of Bentonville on rolling\, mixed terrain. The road will pitch up and descend\, over and over\, and you’ll feel fresh as your mind plays tricks on you. Tarmac to gravel and back\, then a quick dip into some primo Bella Vista singletrack. Pop out\, and your front wheel points towards southern Missouri as you speed along the tree-lined rural roads… \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAs the pavement slowly runs its course over the passing miles\, the bulk of gravel arrives. Open farm fields. Tree canopy cover. Smooth hardpack. Chossy\, chunky\, sharp\, pebble wrestling. Sometimes sidewalls tear\, choose your rubber wisely. We like to joke that the SRAM AXS Mullet build with the 10/50 cassette in the back was custom-tuned to the steep pitchy gravel climbs here. The terrain is relentless. Sometimes single lane\, sometimes double track. You’ll never settle into a rhythm\, and it’ll hurt… \n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSomewhere around mile 75 (give or take)\, you’ll feel like you should be done and finished. But that’s when the meat and potatoes start. You’re staring down the barrel of multiple singletrack sectors to get your bonking body to the finish. If you were to ride these rippers with fresh legs on a good day\, you’d be reveling in heavenly shred. But you’re 75 miles into hell\, and these trails won’t relent. You’ll need that 10/50\, trust us. Keep it together\, cause the descents are a riot if you’re of a right mind. No matter how cratered your body feels at this point\, you’ll find a smile on your face. Lean\, climb\, descend\, steer\, and oh yeah\, choose your equipment wisely (see that flint stone in the photo above?). Just as you’re about to quit\, you’ll glimpse the finish. And you’ll be proud of you. And everyone else will be too. A hug\, a beer\, a laugh\, and you conquered the day. \nThis is the Rule Of Three.

That said\, we need to cover costs for Forest Service permitting\, aid station supplies\, finish line cookout\, and other race equipment/transportation/logistics. DESCRIPTION:Race Details\n\nThe Joe Martin Stage Race is a 4-day\, 4-stage professional men’s and women’s cycling race along with a 2-day\, 3-stage amateur stage race held in the spring each year in Fayetteville\, Arkansas USA \n\n2022 will celebrate the 45th anniversary of the amateur races; 20th anniversary on the USA Cycling Pro Road Tour (PRT) and 8th year to be on the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) Americas Tour calendar. \nThe Joe Martin Stage Race is part of both the USAC PRT which is the pro and elite amateur cycling tour of the United States and the UCI Americas Tour. USA Cycling is the national governing body of cycling operating under the United States Olympic Committee. The Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) is the world governing body for the sport of cycling recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC). \nOver 750 athletes and teams from 27 countries and all 50 states will be attending the race. \nThere is also a Gran Fondo event which occurs each year for those who would like to experience part of the same courses as the pros\, but who do not want to live life on the edge….for their day job!

This can include virtual rides\, i.e.\, Zwift. \n– Can you comfortably ride 30 miles? \n– Do you have a gravel bike in good working order or plan to get one? \n– Can you commit to weekly training? \n– Are you able to maintain a minimum 10 mph average pace on flat gravel terrain? \nIt’s important to understand the commitment and time required to train for a century in just three months. \n  \nThis is a group training and gravel century event \n  \nEvery Saturday\, there will be one route and two pace groups: \nA. 13-15 mph average \nB. 10-12 mph average \nThese are not no-drop rides\, but instead\, pace-led rides.
