SUMMARY:Dogtown Beer Down - Beer Mile
DESCRIPTION:Join us Saturday\, October 12th\, for the Fourth Annual Argenta Beer Mile! \nWhat is the Beer Mile? \n***Drink 4 beers and run 4 laps on the designated course in style as quickly as you can.***\nEach competitor drinks four cans of beer and runs four laps around a 1/4 mile course (start with chugging a beer\, then run a lap\, then beer\, then lap\, then beer\, then lap\, then beer\, then lap – finish).\nBeer must be consumed before the lap begins within the transition area. The transition area is the zone at the start/finish line for a mile race.\nThe race begins with competitors lined up on the mile starting line\, drinking the first beer in the transition zone described in the step above. This ensures competitors cover a complete mile. Competitors can walk/move in the transition area while drinking\, but all beer must be consumed in the transition area before setting off to run a lap.\nCompetitors must drink canned beer that is no less than 355mL (12 Oz) in volume\, which is the standard can/bottle size in the USA and some other countries. The Root Beer Mile substitutes canned root beer. \nBe sure to be ready to run at the time you have selected!  Packet Pickup starts at 11:00 AM.  Your heat will start at the time you selected. \nThe race start is in the Argenta Plaza on Main Street\, downtown North Little Rock.\nThere will be multiple heats\, and prizes awarded for top male and female competitors\, as well as for most dramatic finish!\nProceeds will benefit the Recycle Bikes for Kids. Learn more about the Recycle Bikes For Kids at https://www.recyclebikesforkids.org\nMore details coming soon! \nPre-race Packet Pickup at Flyway 10/11 starting at 4:30 PM until 7:00 PM. \nRace Day Packet Pickup will start at 11:00 AM at the Plaza on Main Street in Argenta.

SUMMARY:Steady Steve 5K
DESCRIPTION:The Steady Steve 5K on Batesville’s Westside honors the legacy of Stephen Raviscioni\, who worked tirelessly with his loving wife\, Autumn\, to establish Our Father’s Table food ministry. Stephen had also turned to running for fitness and health in a big way before COVID-19 came along. He was stricken with a severe case and we lost his graceful service to the hungry and poor. \nAutumn continues the mission at Our Father’s Table\, and the Steady Steve 5K will help meet the ongoing needs of so many among us. The nonprofit ministry has distributed sack lunches as a street outreach on Saturdays since 2012 and now serves hot meals two nights a week. Our Father’s Table seeks to build nurturing relationships with the hungry and to point them to additional resources in our community for any other needs they may have. \nThe race will begin and end at the Our Father’s Table facility and all proceeds will go to the ministry. (Supporters may fetch a printable flier\, sponsorship form\, and paper entry form attached below.) Entrants may make a donation above and beyond the race fee. SUMMARY:Arkansas Traveller 100
DESCRIPTION:The Arkansas Traveller is one of the oldest 100 miles races there is\, already having 32 runnings under our belt(buckle). What makes the AT100 so unique among the many ultras today is the combination of volunteer support from many in the running community and beyond\, the beautiful scenery of the Ouachita Trail and Forest Service roads\, and the sneaky-hard runnable hills that will challenge you from beginning to end. This race is considered by many to be a great first 100 for anyone looking to test themselves at the premier ultra distance. But\, every year we are filled with past Traveller finishers that come back again and again to this incredible race. \nCome\, join us for “Good Time Running.” We look forward to cheering you on toward the finish this October for the 33rd running of the Arkansas Traveller 100.

SUMMARY:Arkansas NICA Race 3 - Plateau Region
DESCRIPTION:One of the great things about a NICA League\, which separates us from other youth cycling development programs\, is we produce our own youth-specific events. This means we pick out race venues and work directly with landowners and managers to produce the highest quality youth development racecourses and events. The student-athletes get a stage of their own\, away from adult competitions\, and we strive for safety and fun above all other factors. \nThe Arkansas League will produce a total of 7 events in 2024.  On our Time Trial weekend we will have a special Race Clinic Event on that Saturday aimed at getting more girls on bikes in addition to allowing newer riders have a practice race\, attend a race clinic and do their first mass start.  Followed by a Prelude Time Trial and 4 races in the fall.  New for 2024 we have 2 Regions.  Plains (Central\, South and NE Arkansas) and Plateaus (NWA and OK generally).    The competitive racing will consist of 2 regional events\, and 2 All league Events.   We will crown regional champions at the end of Race 3 based of total points and also have a true “winner take all” State Championship Event at Race 4.  Athletes must have attended atleast 2 prior races to be eligible to win the State Championship.
