SUMMARY:DeGray Lake Resort State Park's Independence Day Freedom 5K/10K
DESCRIPTION:2023 is a BIG YEAR for Arkansas\, as it marks 100 years of Arkansas State Parks. What better way to celebrate our sweet land of liberty and Arkansas State Parks’ Centennial than with friends and family at Arkansas’s only resort state park for our 8th annual 4th of July Freedom 5k/10k Fun Run event?! Join us at the starting line in your most patriotic outfit to run\, walk\, or march the 3.1 mile course (5k)\, or make mom and ‘Merica proud by taking on our 6.2 mile (10k) course. Runners and walkers alike are sure to enjoy scenic lake views and shaded forest trails along our unique\, mixed surface courses. The 5k is an even split between single track trail (1.5 miles) and pavement (1.6 miles). The 10k course covers the same distance of a single-track trail (1.5 miles) with an extended pavement portion (4.7 miles) that parades runners all the way down to the park’s Caddo Bend peninsula for some beautiful lake views and a welcome breeze coming off the water. All ages and abilities are welcome!

SUMMARY:Wampoo Roadeo
DESCRIPTION:Welcome to the Wampoo Roadeo presented by Aristotle Broadband! \nhttps://www.aristotle.net/internet/ \nThe 15th edition of the Wampoo Roadeo starts at 7:01am on Saturday\, July 15 from the All Souls Church\, 4601 Walker’s Corner Road\, in Scott\, Arkansas. Parking is available directly across the road from the church in the grass farm area. Parking is also available at the Scott Charter School on Alexander Road. Please do not park at the Scott\, Arkansas Post Office. \nThe first rest stop is at mile 20\, in England\, Arkansas. The fine folks of the City of England are sponsoring this stop.  The second rest stop is at mile 25\, in Keo\, Arkansas. The city of Keo is sponsoring this stop.  The third rest stop is at mile 34 at Bevis Corner and sponsored by McClelland Consulting Engineers and staffed by the Mello Velo Cycling Club. This is also the fifth stop at mile 55 after leaving Lonoke if you ride the 62 mile route.  The fourth rest stop is at mile 47 and sponsored by the City of Lonoke. \nThe Wampoo Pickle Juice Challenge is a Strava segment located on Highway 15 between Keo and Bevis Corner.  Look for the “Burma-Shave” type signs along the route leading up to the start of the one mile segment.  Fastest male and fastest female through the segment for each route\, plus the 15th fastest rider through the segment overall\, win prizes and bragging rights! \nThere will be watermelon at the Finish Line and the Loblolly Creamery Ice Cream Truck will be serving free scoops of ice cream with chocolate milk from 9:30am until 1:00pm.  Plan your ride accordingly to get back and have a cup of chocolate milk and a scoop (or two) of your favorite Loblolly ice cream. \nFeel free to set up your cycling club tents and hang out at the Finish Line after the ride. \nIf you ordered any merch’\, it will available for pick up\, along with your bib number at Packet Pickup. \nIf you can’t make Packet Pickup\, we’ll have your bib number and anything you ordered at the Start Line before the ride begins.  Look for the yellow pop up Registration tent. \nPlease note there will be a “Bevis Gate” set up at 10:00am at Bevis Corner. All riders not through the gate by 10:00am will be directed to the finish line via the 28/40 mile left turn at Bevis Corner. This is for everyone’s protection because of the heat\, humidity and the wind. \nThe Wampoo Roadeo is a fundraiser for Recycle Bikes for Kids (RB4K).  The mission of RB4K is to give free bikes to kids\, provide adults the opportunity to earn a bike\, and support bike infrastructure and education in the community. \nSince 2008\, a large part of the mission at RB4K is to get every kid a bike. But as RB4K has grown through the years \, it’s become clear how crucial bike infrastructure\, safety and education is to our community. Our new expanded mission addresses that need. Proceeds from this ride\, which will continue honoring the life and legacy of Marilyn Fulper\, will now directly help fund all of RB4K’s future infrastructure projects. \nMaps \nhttps://ridewithgps.com/routes/38489422  62 mile route \nhttps://ridewithgps.com/routes/38489439  40 mile route \nhttps://ridewithgps.com/routes/38489443  26 mile route

Please stop by after 10 p.m. to do so.  \n50kers: If you want to switch to the 25K at check in\, please let the volunteers know. You will run with your 50K bib number\, but without the 50K wristband. Your start time will be 8 p.m. for the 25K.\n \nPlease wear the numbered wristband on your right hand. This is the hand facing the finish line staff as you blaze across the finish and helps them identify you as a 50K finisher. \n50kers: If you find your fun meter is tapped at the 25K turnaround aid station you are allowed to drop to the 25K race at that point. You will need the Aid Station Captain\, or the Radio Crew Captain\, to cut off your bracelet. Please don’t tear it off and leave it. If you stop at the 25k\, that will be a DNF. You will wait for the sag wagon to pick you up. \nIf you want a different size shirt than what you indicated\, we’ll do our best to exchange them for the desired size after the run. \nDo not come to check-in 5 minutes before your race. This will make Tara the Check-In Queen very angry. You do not want to see Tara Angry. \nRace Start \n50k Race\nThe 50K race starts for all runners at 7 p.m. The Cutoffs are 10:00 for the outbound 25K turnaround aid station; 12 a.m. for the 50K turnaround aid station; and 2:00 a.m. for the inbound 25K turnaround. We are offering a 6 p.m. early start for 50kers that know it will take them over 8 hours to complete the 50k (cutoff is 9 hours***This early start is only for 50K runners that know they will not finish by 4am.) \n25K Race \nThe 25K race starts for all runners at 8 p.m. The Cutoffs is 2:00 a.m. at the 25K turnaround. \nIf you do not make the cutoffs\, you will ride back to Camp O in the sag wagon. Be cool with that. You can race again next year. \nParking  \nCarpool if you can. You must park on the north side of the road (opposite of the race HQ). Please ensure your entire car is parked to the left of the white line on the side of the road. Plan ahead and be prepared to walk to the check-in/start line. There is no parking in the lot at Camp Ouachita; this is for emergency and aid vehicles only\, plus a place for everyone to congregate at the finish safely without fighting tired runners trying to back over them in the dark. Do not block the driveway. Do not pull into the driveway.  \nNo Dogs  \nCamp Ouachita banned dogs from the premises like three years ago. Having dogs at Camp Ouachita could result in our permit being pulled.

SUMMARY:Ozark Enduro Lite Race 2 Lake Atalanta (Rogers\, AR)
DESCRIPTION:Curious about Enduro Mountain Bike Racing? Not sure how an Enduro race works? Let us help you get your feet wet with the Ozark Enduro LITE Series. A short summer series of 3 beginner friendly enduro races. All rider abilities are welcome but the Ozark Enduro Lite Series is aimed at introducing new folks to the awesome sport of Enduro racing. \nEnduro racing is primarily downhill timed segments\, ranging anywhere from just less than a minute per stage to up to 5-6 minutes that may require some pedaling. A typical Ozark Enduro Lite race will consist of 4-6 downhill segments. Your time will start when you enter the top of a segment and will end when you reach the bottom of that segment. There will be connecting routes to transition between each segment that will not be timed. Only the segments are timed. Riders often ride with groups and make new friends while enjoying the trails during the transfers. After completing all the downhill segments\, your total time will be compared with the times of other riders to see how you did. \nYou will be required to have a fully functional bike and a proper helmet. Full face helmets are recommended but not mandatory. Other recommended items are gloves\, eye protection\, knee pads\, elbow pads. We also strongly encourage carrying the necessary items for minor bike repair such as tire plugs\, tubes\, CO2\, spare chain links etc. \nThere will be aid stations\, however\, it is important to carry enough water and nutrition to last throughout the race. Typical durations will be anywhere from 2-4 hours depending on the course and each rider’s ability. \nNone of these races would be possible without volunteers. Volunteer help will be needed at every race\, and we would love to make you a part of our event and give you some cool swag. There will be multiple volunteer opportunities such as helping at an aid station\, course marshaling\, and race setup and tear down. Click HERE to learn more.
