As the oldest enduring Arkansas Ultra Running Association event\, that intent lives on. The 50 mile and 50 km runs feature a picturesque climb over Pinnacle Mountain followed by an out-and-back traversing the rolling hills along the north shore of beautiful Lake Maumelle. Get ready for scenic\, rocky\, single-track as you tour Pinnacle Mountain State Park and the eastern part of the 222 mile Ouachita National Recreation Trail. \nProceeds benefit Pinnacle Mountain State Park \nGeneral Information: \nLocation: Maumelle Park\, Little Rock\, Arkansas\, Pavilion # 8 \nStarting Time: 6:00 AM for 50 Mile and 50 Km. Most of the Ouachita Trail is a scenic\, rocky\, single-track foot path. The trail is permanently marked with blue blazes. Turns are marked with two blue blazes. Additional markers (blue and white striped ribbon) will also mark the course. The Pinnacle Mountain trails and loop are utilized on the “out” portion only. 50K participants will be diverted off of the OT around the 16 mile point and will follow a different approach to the Northshore Aid Station. The course involves several highway crossings\, and there will likely be no traffic control. Please be responsible and be careful! NOTE: If conditions are wet\, the course may be rerouted to avoid the top of Pinnacle Mountain. This is due to safety concerns and is mandated by the state park. \nAid: Eleven staffed aid stations for 50-mile; seven for 50Km. (See mileage/aid station chart) Carrying at least one fluid bottle is HIGHLY advised. SUMMARY:OUTLAST
DESCRIPTION:OUTLAST is a 6-hour trail endurance challenge where runners complete a 5K every hour\, on the hour. Each lap must be finished within the hour to stay in the event. If you finish early\, you rest until the next round. Miss a lap\, and you’re out. \nComplete all six rounds\, and you OUTLAST. \nThis isn’t just about speed — it’s about pacing\, discipline\, and mental grit. Whether you’re trying to survive all six or win your division\, the challenge is the same: show up each hour\, push your limits\, and stay in it. \nEach course is trail-based\, with natural terrain\, elevation\, and unpredictable conditions. You’ll have time between rounds to recover\, refuel\, and refocus — but not much. \n  \nWhat You Earn: \n4 laps = Bronze “Grit Earned” leather patch\n5 laps = Silver “Survivor” leather patch\n6 laps = Premium “OUTLAST” wooden medal\n\nAll participants receive an OUTLAST Tee & Sticker. \nTop male and female with the fastest combined 5K times at each event win the 1st Place OUTLAST award. \nFinishers are ranked on the national leaderboard—and the fastest runner across all OUTLAST 6-hour events will be crowned National Champion and take home $1\,000. \nThe 1st Place Male and Female 6-hour champions from each city will earn a spot in the Outlast Championship\, where they’ll compete against the best of the best at the end of the Tour\, and the 1st place male and female winners take home $1000 each. (This is separate from the national leaderboard prize money.) \nBy the end of the tour\, the top 100 best times nationally will be invited to also compete in the Outlast Championship. \n  \nFrequently Asked Questions: \nDo I have to run all 6 laps?\nNope. Run as many as you can. If you complete 4 or 5\, you’ll still earn a patch. Only those who finish all 6 get the OUTLAST medal and leaderboard ranking. \nWhat happens if I don’t finish a lap in time?\nYou’re out. The next lap starts at the top of the next hour\, and only those who completed the last lap on time can continue. \nHow is the race timed?\nEach 5K is timed individually. If you complete all 6\, your combined time counts toward the local win and national leaderboard. \nAre these trail races or road?\nEvery OUTLAST race is on trail terrain — dirt\, rocks\, roots\, and elevation. Sometimes some pavement and gravel. \nCan I walk?\nYes\, as long as you finish the 5K within the hour. But some courses are rugged\, and time can sneak up on you. \nAre there aid stations?\nYes. There will be water\, basic hydration\, and snacks at the basecamp/loop start. This is a cupless event — bring your own bottle or hydration system. \nWhat should I bring?\nTrail shoes\, hydration system\, layers (weather dependent)\, fuel between laps\, and grit. \nCan I setup a tent?\nAbsolutely\, bring your own aid station/tent setup. \nIs OUTLAST for beginners?\nYes — if you’re mentally tough. You don’t need to be fast\, just consistent and ready to suffer a little. \nHow do I win?\nIf you finish all 6 laps and have the fastest combined time\, you win your division (male/female). Winners are also added to the national leaderboard for a shot at the $1\,000 national prize & title.

SUMMARY:Delta Grind
DESCRIPTION:Celebrating the unique culture and beauty of the Arkansas Delta\, runners can expect a challenging and scenic course that showcases the beauty of the Delta region. Live music will be playing throughout the day\, and delicious food from local vendors served after the run.  Cupless event. BYO bottle/hydration pack recommended. Water jugs on course. \nRoutes –> ridewithgps.com \nLocation –> Kelly Courtyard\, 415 Cherry St\, Helena\, AR 72342 \n  \n“The first bit of the course runs through the town\, Past the Delta Cultural Center\, where the King Biscuit Blues radio show continues its daily broadcast\, just as it has for over 80 years. Up the brick path of the levee walk overlooking the port of Helena. Looking down on the ruins of old warehouses and wholesalers as the bricks turn to gravel and you head out of town. \n  \nLeaving the levee and entering the national forest\, the road moves further from the river. On the west side\, Crowley’s Ridge rises steeply. As geologic features go\, this one is pretty new. It was formed about 20\,000 years ago as windborne glacial loess accumulated here. Helena is the southern end of the ridge\, which extends about 200 miles north to Missouri and rises 250 feet above the otherwise pancake-flat region. \n  \nThe riverside to the east is a dense tangle of thick\, flat woods\, interrupted occasionally by cypress swamp. At first glance\, much of the scenery in the forest was not unlike the typical green tunnel you find elsewhere in the region\, but as the eyes began to soften and adjust\, differences appeared. \n  \nThe trees that make the consistent canopy are considerably taller than most you find in the Ozark and Ouachita Mountains. The timber industry was a main source of wealth in the Delta in the 19th century\, but most forests were cleared and turned to cotton\, rice\, and\, later\, soy fields. Most of the existing Arkansas mills are in the hilly parts of the state\, and those forests are more likely to be interspersed with recent cuts. \n  \nThe road itself was softer and sandier than non-Delta gravel roads\, making for an ideal running surface. \n  \nThere were more cool drinks waiting back at the finish\, with mocktails and cold local Arkansas and Mississippi beer set up in a brick-lined picnic area that had once been a building. The live blues music and barbeque kept 100% of the participants there for hours after the race ended. The liveliness of the scene on that block that afternoon gave hints of what had been and could be again in Helena. \n  \nAchieving that vibrancy and highlighting the culture and natural beauty of the town and surrounding areas is very much the intention of the organizers of the Delta Dash run and accompanying Delta Grind ride. The events are organized primarily by the nonprofit StudioDrift\, which aims to revitalize the Delta through placemaking and adventure tourism.”  Read the rest of Brian Hurley’s recap here: www.irunfar.com/recovery-run-running-as-revitalization-in-the-arkansas-delta \n  \n“The perfect mash-up of fun and folly\, all to support the creation of the Crowley’s Ridge Gravel Trail\,” said Ammen Jordan\, Director of studioDRIFT. “Helena is the perfect basecamp for a weekend of adventure.” \nCupless event. BYO bottle/hydration pack recommended. Water jugs on course. \n  \n27K tickets include lunch and music. Delta Grind is a family-friendly event that is open to the public.

SUMMARY:Hiking Lost Valley and Balanced Rock
DESCRIPTION:Distance\n\n\n\n4 miles\n\n\nElevation Difference\n\n\n\n700 feet including both destinations. The ascent is primarily ascending to the cave entrance in Lost Valley\, and the last 100 yards at Balanced Rock.\n\n\nRating\n\n\n\nMostly easy. Intermediate for cave exploration at Lost Valley\, which is optional.\n\n\nFeatures\n\n\n\nCreekside hike in both places. Waterfall at large bluff shelter in Lost Valley. Steps uphill leading to Eden Cave with 100 foot crawl to view 30 foot waterfall inside the cave. Second portion of hike a few miles away at Leatherwood Creek (tributary to Buffalo River at Ponca Low Water Bridge). One shallow water crossing\, often able to “rock hop.” Then 200 foot ascent to unique rock at top of a waterfall. Both hikes are “out-and-back.” If at any point\, return to vehicle is desired\, that is perfectly acceptable.\n\n\nLeader(s)\n\n\n\nEric Fraser\n\n\nCarpooling?\n\n\n\nYes\, depending on number of participants.\n\n\nStarting location of outing\n\n\n\nLeave Morgan McDonald’s at 8 AM. Suggest arrival 20 minutes earlier.\n\n\nDriving distance to starting location\n\n\n\n140 miles to either trailhead. Only 2 miles between the two trailheads. Expect to be gone about 10 hours.\n\n\nWhat to bring\n\n\n\nSturdy trail shoes or boots\, water\, lunch and trail snacks. (It is possible that a lunch venue is open in Ponca\, but Jasper is the closest I am sure food is available\, and is 15 mountain miles\, or 25 minutes away.) Wear clothing appropriate for the weather\, and bring a headlamp if you’d like to explore Eden Cave.\n\n\nToilets on site?\n\n\n\nRestrooms are available at both trailheads.

Reach out to us if you are in need of financial assistance.  Email: lauren@ruleofthree.bike \nCamping \nCamping will be located on-site at the event location.  This is a gorgeous open field with plenty of space to pitch a tent but not a camper van or RV.  If you’re traveling by camper van\, there is a gravel lot near the camping that is first come first serve.  If you’re traveling by RV please park at a different location and ride your bike to the race.  There will be no RV parking anywhere on the road or field. The closest RV campground is at Blowing Springs Park in Bella Vista. \nThere will be port-o-potties and a dumpster for garbage but no potable water.  Please come prepared with enough water for the entire weekend. \nRefunds\, Transfers\, Deferrals \nNo cancellations or deferrals but you can transfer to another person or change your category by midnight of MAY 12th\, 2026.  You can change your category or transfer your registration to another rider by following these BikeReg directions:   \nHow to Transfer your Registration to Someone Else \nHow To Change The Category You Registered For \nHow to Remove yourself from a Waitlist \nRO3 Merch \nWe make a generous donation to Arkansas NICA from the sale of every single piece of merch\, so you can wear your gear knowing you helped get MORE KIDS ON BIKES! \n  \nPLEASE TAKE SPECIAL NOTE: \n1.  Time cutoff \n\nRule of Three is not your average 115 mile bike ride.  Think road race\, meets gravel\, meets MTB\, meets adventure race all rolled into one!  Our course takes significantly longer to complete than an average 115 mile gravel event. If you’ve never done this race before and you’re not sure if you can complete a 115 mile RO3 route in less than 12 hours\, we strongly suggest that you choose the 60 mile option-it’s still a beast!\nFor the 115 miler\, we will have a time “check out” on course that you must pass by a certain time.  If you haven’t made the time cutoff you’ll need to call for someone for a ride or wait for our Broomwagon\, 37 North Expeditions\, to come pick you up.\nWe want you to stand up to the challenge but we must keep the safety of all our riders top priority.  We aim to have the last riders finish by 8pm.\n\n2.  Teams \n115 and 60 mile 3 person teams take off (time trial style) in 1 minute increments. The team rides the route together\, stopping at checkpoints to gather their “proof” and they must finish together. \n3.  Age Limit \nIf a rider U14 (13 years and younger) wants to ride at The Rule of Three\, the rider will need to register under the U14 + Adult category and ride together with that adult during Rule of Three.  The Rule of Three routes incorporate road\, gravel and singletrack.  Riders will need to ride alongside cars and have intermediate to advanced experience in all disciplines and be well versed with the rules of the road. \n4.  Inclement Weather Policy \nRule of Three will happen if the “creek don’t rise” and if it does we’ll route around it!  Northwest Arkansas weather can be unpredictable to say the least.  Come prepared for freezing and hot temps.  Blue skies and dark skies.  Dry and wet conditions.  Buckle up…no matter what\, it’ll be a fun ride! \n5.  Routes \nThe Rule of Three routes are new every year and we try to hold off on route revelations until right before the event….the element of surprise is a nice touch. \n6.  Volunteer at Rule of Three \nwww.bikereg.com/volunteer-at-rule-of-three \nFor up to date information head to our Instagram page and our website.

SUMMARY:RYDB Fest - Community Overnighter
DESCRIPTION:The Ride Your Damn Bike Festival is back — and once again we’re inviting you to ride your damn bike\, any damn way you want. \nPatrick Farnsworth of Bikes or Death will be leading a beginner-friendly\, lightly supported\, no-drop community overnighter as part of a weekend full of riding\, learning\, and good times. \nThis year we’re riding the Lake Wedington Loop — a classic route from the Bikepacking Roots Fayetteville Route Network that heads west of Fayetteville on mostly gravel roads into the rolling oak woodlands of the Ozark National Forest and Lake Wedington Recreation Area. \nExpect quiet backroads\, gentle hills\, beautiful scenery\, and optional rocky singletrack adventures on the return. \nThere are no stores on route — riders should plan to carry all food and snacks from Fayetteville. Water will be available at camp. \nThis ride is designed for riders curious about bikepacking\, first overnighters\, or anyone looking for a supportive adventure with a great community. \n\nWhat “Beginner Friendly” Means\nWe will ride together at a relaxed pace and create a supportive environment — but this is still an adventure ride. \nYou can expect: \n\nRide leads and sweepers (no one left behind)\nProSlow pace (10–12 mph moving average)\nMandatory regroup stops\nMechanic support for minor repairs\nSAG vehicle available if you need assistance or a ride to camp\n\nRiders should still plan to be self-supported — carry your own food\, water\, clothing\, and camping gear. A packing list will be provided before the event. \nExpect long stretches without services and variable conditions — preparation is part of the experience. \n\nRoute Options\nBoth routes ride together to camp on Day 1. On Day 2 you can choose your adventure. \nYou can decide which option to take at camp — no need to commit ahead of time. \nLake Wedington Loop — Gravel Option \n\n59 miles total (35 miles Day 1 / 24 miles Day 2)\n~2\,800 ft elevation\nGravel and pavement only\nBest for first overnighters or riders wanting a smoother experience\n\nLake Wedington Loop — Singletrack Option \n\n68 miles total (35 miles Day 1 / 33 miles Day 2)\nIncludes ~20 miles of singletrack on Day 2\nSlower\, more physical\, and more technical\nBest for riders comfortable on trails\n\nBike recommendation:\nGravel bike with 40mm+ tires for gravel route. Mountain bike recommended if riding singletrack. \n\nSupport vs Self-Supported (Important)\nThis is not a fully supported tour. \nWe are providing: \n\nGroup leadership\nBasic mechanical help\nSAG safety net\nWater at camp\n\nYou are responsible for: \n\nYour pace and effort\nFood and personal nutrition\nCamping gear\nWeather preparedness\nCompleting the route\n\n\nWeekend Itinerary\nFriday — Expo at the Upper Ramble\nOptional expo included with registration. Meet partners\, attend workshops\, and connect with riders. \nSaturday — Day 1\n7:30 am — Gather at Upper Ramble\n8:30 am — Rider meeting\n9:00 am — Grand Depart \nCamp — Optional hike or ride to Twin Knobs viewpoints. \nSunday — Day 2\n10:00 am — Roll out toward Fayetteville\nGravel or singletrack options available. \nEvening gathering — details TBD. \n\nFAQ\nWhat if I can’t keep up?\nWe ride no-drop with regroup points. SAG is available if needed. \nCan I switch routes on Day 2?\nYes — decide at camp. \nIs this okay for beginners?\nYes — as long as you are comfortable riding 30–40 miles per day and camping overnight. \nIs there resupply?\nNo stores on route. Bring food. Water at camp. \nWhat bike should I ride?\nGravel bike or hardtail works great. Mountain bike recommended for singletrack. \nWhat if I can’t make it to camp?\nSAG can transport you and your bike. \nWill there be a mechanic?\nYes — limited trail repairs. \nRefund policy\nA portion of proceeds supports Bikepacking Roots. No refunds\, transfers allowed.

SUMMARY:Catsmacker Trail run
DESCRIPTION:Participation is limited\, and subject to filling up. If you register and later change your mind\, please contact Katie Helms. so that we can free up your spot for somebody else. Also note that any race donations are non-refundable. In other words\, if you sign up and donate\, you might as well show up! \nAURA “Fun Run” (no UTS points)\nDistance: 20-ish miles for the Catsmacker\, 12-ish miles for the Kitty Run option\nStart/Finish Area: the start is at the Lake Sylvia Day Use area (where you would go if you went swimming in the lake). NOT at Camp Ouachita (where the Full Moon and Traveller start).\nStart is at 7:00am\, sign-in will be available (hopefully) by 6:00am.\nCost: This is a donation-based run. That said\, we need to cover costs for Forest Service permitting\, aid station supplies\, finish line cookout\, and other race equipment/transportation/logistics. Please make sure that we can cover those costs and continue offering low-cost events. You can make an online payment here\, or a cash/check donation on race day. Donations are non-refundable\, and any proceeds will be donated to AURA. (A suggested donation to cover costs is $20. Thank you!) \nDriving & Parking Directions: You should be able to find Williams Junction\, AR on most maps; it is approximately 30 miles west of Little Rock on Hwy 10\, or 20 miles south of Morrilton on Hwy 9.  To get to the race site from Williams Junction\, go north on Hwy 10/9 for 1.5 miles\, then take Hwy 324 west and follow for three and a half miles. The Lake Sylvia day use area will be on your left about 1/2mile after Camp Ouachita. If the road turns to gravel you went half mile too far. \nGoogle driving directions to start \nParking is limited in the Lake Sylvia Day Use Area. Once this area is full\, parking will overflow along Highway 324. Please carpool if possible! Parking along Hwy 324 is limited to the west side only (on the right as you are driving in from Hwy 9/10). If you don’t see any cars parked on the east side of Hwy 324\, there is a reason! There will be signs and volunteers to assist you with where you can and can’t park. Make sure your car is all the way to the right of the white line (completely out of the traffic lane) when you park. \nCourse Description: \n\nThe course will utilize Forest Service roads and a portion of the Ouachita Trail. There will be a combination of pavement (just a little!)\, gravel\, and single/double track trail (it’s poison ivy season!).\nCourse marking will consist of signs\, colored ribbon flagging\, and flour arrows drawn on the ground. In general\, course marking is focused on marking turns and intersections. Intermediate “confidence” markings in the absence of turns or intersections will be relatively rare. We recommend that participants print off maps if they are unsure of the course or unfamiliar with the area.\nTurn-by-turn directions:\n\nFSR 152 (from start)\, turning right on FSR 132\nFSR 132 staying straight on FSR 94 (follow sign to Flatside Pinnacle)\nFSR 94 turning right onto Ouachita Trail\nOuachita Trail turn right onto FSR 805\nFSR 805 turning right onto Hwy 324\nHwy 324 to finish at Lake Sylvia day use area\nThe Kitty Run course is the same as above with one deviation that is seen on the map. Approximately 3.5 miles into the course\, the Kitty Run incorporates the Ouachita Trail for 1.5 miles and then turns back right onto FSR 805.\n\n\nCourse Map Google Course Map\n\nArkansas Ultra Trail Series: This is a no-UTS-points fun run that is a season-closer and celebration of the end of an amazing year of Arkansas ultrarunning. The 2022-2023 UTS awards ceremony will be held after the run\, with a cookout-style lunch. Celebrate with us! \nRunner Safety and Other Details: \n\nThere will be a waiver to sign on the morning of the run.\nThere will be at least 3 aid stations for the Catsmacker\, and 2 aid stations for the Kitty Run.\nPlease carry a water bottle and any snacks you want. Food choices at the aid stations will be basic.\nThe park allows dogs on a leash. Please don’t assume that your dog is the exception that doesn’t need a leash.\nIt’s always a good idea to carry a cell phone. The service is spotty\, but the higher hills often have signal available. If you are unfamiliar with the area\, run with a buddy and study the course map.\nCut-off is 6 hours. For the full Catsmacker\, that is a 16:30ish pace. There will be one early start option at 6:00am if (and only if) you anticipate needing more time to finish. It is not a “for your convenience if you don’t feel like waiting for the 7:00am start” option. If you miss the 6:00am early start\, then you will have to catch the 7:00am start.\nFor more information\, contact the race director Katie Helms.
