Introducing… St. Joseph’s first annual Fat Cow 5k! This 5k farm-raiser is being held on the farmstead trails that pass wild blackberry bushes\, summer wildflowers in bloom\, growing watermelon in our Hunger Relief garden\, all the fresh fruit & vegetables growing on our land & in our community gardens. Did we mention all the farm animals as official race spectators in this fun run?! \nAbout St. Joseph’s: St. Joseph farmstead is a 56\,000 SF historic building and 63 acre property in North Little Rock that is on the National Register of Historic Places. St. Joseph’s is also a designated Arkansas Century Farm. As an independent nonprofit\, St. Joseph operates as a farm with a mission to preserve the historic property through sustainable agriculture & food production\, programs that educate & promote agritourism\, & support community outreach. With over 30 artist studios\, an event venue\, renovated commercial kitchen space\, beer shed\, & a year-round farmstand store selling local and organic foods\, there is A LOT going on at St. Joseph’s. Come see for yourself & be a part of history at our first 5k FARM-raiser. \nThe Course: The course will include both trail and road/pavement. The trails include soft grass\, rocks and pine\, and the crossing road will be manned for safety. DESCRIPTION:Western Arkansas Runners is honored to be able to carry on the Annual Memorial Run honoring BRENT MORRISON who was an avid runner in the River Valley as well as the Hot Springs area.  This year will mark the 9th year that a run of some form has been held and along with honoring Brent\, we will also be honoring runners whose life’s have been taken too soon. Run in honor of that runner you knew who is no longer with us.  Our Age Group awards are always an extra special treat and all runners will receive a finishers medal as well as food\, music and runner comradery afterwards !!! A portion of the proceeds will go towards our clubs plans to host a Jr. Run Clinic\, with the remainder to go towards day-to-day use of the Western Arkansas Running Club building located in Chaffee on Taylor Ave and weekly sponsored runs.   Western Arkansas Runners- WAR- supports Runners and Walkers of all ages and gender and live by the motto “No Runners Left Behind”.  If you are unable to run/walk but are interested in volunteering or would like to make a donation please contact the race director : Sheri Nicholls @ brentmorrisonmemorial@gmail.com.  This is a certified course\, chosen to be part of the 2024 Arkansas Grand Prix and will be timed by Jaymax Timing.

Days after we mark our nation’s hard-won independence\, we also join the local community in fond memory of Byron Difani. All proceeds from the race will go to the Byron Difani Memorial Scholarship Fund\, to help local students just like those he had served so long and so well as educator\, principal\, and booster until illness took him. In conjunction with our competitive race\, we also offer a “memorial walk” for an untimed procession for those not trained to race but wishing to honor his memory. We also have a donation-only option. Entry fee is $30. \nWe will have a special T-shirt for all entrants registered as of June 24\, with overstock available on first come\, first served basis thereafter until supply runs out. We will have finishers medals for timed participants\, and special awards for Top 3 Overall Men\, Top 3 Overall Women\, Top 3 Masters (age 40+) Men\, and Top 3 Masters Women. We plan top 3 medals in 10-year age groups. \nThe course starts at Batesville Community Center and Aquatics and finishes at Riverside Park. We plan packet pickup at the center Friday\, July 5\, 4-7 p.m.\, and race day registration there 6-6:45 a.m. \nUPDATE: June 16\, 2024 – Given the recent heat\, we are moving the start to 7 am\, earlier than originally scheduled 8 am. DESCRIPTION:2024…the year of the Great American ECLIPSE! Not to be eclipsed\, however\, is DeGray Lake Resort State Park’s 9th annual 4th of July Freedom 5k/10k Fun Run! \nMake plans to celebrate our sweet land of liberty with friends and family this Independence Day at Arkansas’s only resort state park! Join us at the starting line in your most patriotic outfit to run\, walk\, or march the 3.1 mile course (5k)\, or make mom and ‘Merica proud by taking on our 6.2 mile (10k) course. Runners and walkers alike are sure to enjoy scenic lake views and shaded forest trails along our unique\, mixed surface courses. The 5k is an even split between single track trail (1.5 miles) and pavement (1.6 miles). The 10k course covers the same distance of single track trail (1.5 miles) with an extended pavement portion (4.7 miles) that parades runners all the way down to the park’s Caddo Bend peninsula for some beautiful lake views and a welcome breeze coming off the water. All ages and abilities are welcome! \nRace Registration:\nRegistration will be available online through 11:59 a.m. on July 3rd (online registration closes at noon). DESCRIPTION:2024…the year of the Great American ECLIPSE! Not to be eclipsed\, however\, is DeGray Lake Resort State Park’s 9th annual 4th of July Freedom 5k/10k Fun Run! \nMake plans to celebrate our sweet land of liberty with friends and family this Independence Day at Arkansas’s only resort state park! Join us at the starting line in your most patriotic outfit to run\, walk\, or march the 3.1 mile course (5k)\, or make mom and ‘Merica proud by taking on our 6.2 mile (10k) course. Runners and walkers alike are sure to enjoy scenic lake views and shaded forest trails along our unique\, mixed surface courses. The 5k is an even split between single track trail (1.5 miles) and pavement (1.6 miles). The 10k course covers the same distance of single track trail (1.5 miles) with an extended pavement portion (4.7 miles) that parades runners all the way down to the park’s Caddo Bend peninsula for some beautiful lake views and a welcome breeze coming off the water. All ages and abilities are welcome! \nRace Registration:\nRegistration will be available online through 11:59 a.m. on July 3rd (online registration closes at noon). SUMMARY:CRC Firecracker Fun Run 5k & 1-Mile Sparkler
DESCRIPTION:Come join CRC for a fun run on Saturday\, June 29th at 8am at the back parking lot of the Conway Regional Fitness Center on Salem Road. We have a ~5k route (see link below) we will be doing as a group along the trail behind the fitness center. We are also going to do a 1-Mile Sparkler Run this year\, so be sure to bring the entire family for a fun morning. \n5k Route: https://www.strava.com/routes/3101551894825041526 \nADDITIONAL INFO: \n1) This is a “fun run.” It is not a timed event. We will\, however\, have refreshments and awards for those that register for the event on RunSignUp. The first 50 participants to register are guaranteed a finisher’s medal\, and the first male and first female “winners” of the 5k will receive a free CRC membership. \nRegistration is FREE to all Conway Running Club members\, so be sure to become a member before registering! (See membership cost and perks below.) 12 and under\, regardless of event\, are also free. 100% Member discount will be automatically applied at checkout. YOU MUST USE SAME EMAIL TO REGISTER FOR RACE AS USED FOR CLUB MEMBERSHIP. \n2) We will have a wave start with the 5k starting at 8am and the 1-mile starting ~5 minutes after. Please arrive early enough to check-in for the event (we will be giving you a wristband to denote which race you are running). \n3)This is an OPEN course. The 1-mile course will be on the trail with a turnaround point halfway. We ask that you please try to run on the right side of the trail as to not impede those who are returning to the finish. While the majority of the 5k is along the trail\, there is a small portion that goes into a neighborhood. It is your responsibility to obey all traffic laws and be aware of your surroundings. Please run opposing vehicular traffic whenever possible. \n4) We will have the portion of the 5k course that goes into the neighborhood marked with some cones so you hopefully will know when to turn. Still\, please check out the course map prior to the run if you can! \n4) We are anticipating a nice turn out for this event\, and we are excited!
