The Paint Chaffee Pink Walk is more than just a morning of movement; it’s a tribute to strength\, a celebration of survivorship\, and a promise that no one faces cancer alone. \nHeld at the beautiful Celebration Garden and Wellness Park in Barling\, this annual walk brings together survivors\, families\, caregivers\, and advocates from across the region. It is a day filled with love\, remembrance\, and support—a visual reminder of the resilience found in every person affected by breast cancer. \nThe walk also plays a vital role in helping provide life-changing support services through the Donald W. Reynolds Cancer Support House. Proceeds help fund free programs like educational resources\, prevention screenings\, emotional support\, and patient navigation—offered to anyone facing a cancer diagnosis in our area. \nPaint Chaffee Pink is a chance to raise awareness\, to honor those we’ve lost\, to uplift those still in the fight\, and to celebrate those who’ve come through it with hope. Whether walking in memory\, in support\, or in survivorship\, every step taken echoes with compassion and purpose. \nOn October 4\, 2025\, we invite you to walk with us—to show your support\, to share your story\, and to help us continue painting our community pink with hope.

SUMMARY:Arkansas NICA Race 3 - Plateau Region
DESCRIPTION:One of the great things about a NICA League\, which separates us from other youth cycling development programs\, is we produce our own youth-specific events. This means we pick out race venues and work directly with landowners and managers to produce the highest quality youth development racecourses and events. The student-athletes get a stage of their own\, away from adult competitions\, and we strive for safety and fun above all other factors. \nThe Arkansas League will produce a total of 7 events in 2024.  On our Time Trial weekend we will have a special Race Clinic Event on that Saturday aimed at getting more girls on bikes in addition to allowing newer riders have a practice race\, attend a race clinic and do their first mass start.  Followed by a Prelude Time Trial and 4 races in the fall.  New for 2024 we have 2 Regions.  Plains (Central\, South and NE Arkansas) and Plateaus (NWA and OK generally).    The competitive racing will consist of 2 regional events\, and 2 All league Events.   We will crown regional champions at the end of Race 3 based of total points and also have a true “winner take all” State Championship Event at Race 4.  Athletes must have attended atleast 2 prior races to be eligible to win the State Championship.

DESCRIPTION:Western Arkansas Runners is honored to be able to carry on the Annual Memorial Run honoring BRENT MORRISON who was an avid runner in the River Valley as well as the Hot Springs area.  This year will mark the 9th year that a run of some form has been held and along with honoring Brent\, we will also be honoring runners whose life’s have been taken too soon. Run in honor of that runner you knew who is no longer with us.  Our Age Group awards are always an extra special treat and all runners will receive a finishers medal as well as food\, music and runner comradery afterwards !!! A portion of the proceeds will go towards our clubs plans to host a Jr. Run Clinic\, with the remainder to go towards day-to-day use of the Western Arkansas Running Club building located in Chaffee on Taylor Ave and weekly sponsored runs.   Western Arkansas Runners- WAR- supports Runners and Walkers of all ages and gender and live by the motto “No Runners Left Behind”.  If you are unable to run/walk but are interested in volunteering or would like to make a donation please contact the race director : Sheri Nicholls @ brentmorrisonmemorial@gmail.com.  This is a certified course\, chosen to be part of the 2024 Arkansas Grand Prix and will be timed by Jaymax Timing.
