SUMMARY:Andy Buschmann 4-Mile Classic
DESCRIPTION:The 46th Annual Classic\nFormerly the White River 4 Mile Classic and HealthSouth 4 Mile Classic\, this race is now named for Andy Buschmann\, the local running man seen everywhere about town trotting out the miles in his steady gait. He and his buddy Jack Heston ran every version of the race since its founding in 1978 until COVID took Andy from us in 2021. The AB4MC course is USATF certified and officially in the RRCA Arkansas Grand Prix XLII Series for 2024. Proceeds from the race are donated to local charities serving Independence County. \nParking:\nThere is ample parking at City Hall and in parking lots throughout the Main Street area. \nStart/Finish: \nThe race will begin at 8 am.\nThe race starts and finishes on Main Street with parking and setup near City Hall. \nTiming:\nChip timing will be by Oakley Kramer Timing Plus \nRace Route: \nThe route runs downhill through Batesville’s historic residential and downtown districts\, with a couple of substantial climbs through nearby neighborhoods mid-race. \nPacket Pick Up: \nEarly packet pickup will be at the Tomahawk Chop located at 177 East Main Street in downtown Batesville on Friday\, May 31st\, 4-7 pm.\nRace day packet pickup will be at City Hall starting at 6:30 am on Saturday\, June 1st. \nRegistration: \nCost:  $25\nAll runners and walkers will receive a swag bag\, race shirt\, and finisher’s goodie. Registrations received after May 19\, 2024 are not guaranteed preferred t-shirt size.\nRace day registration will be available from 6:30-7:30 am. \nCancellation Policy:\nIf the race is cancelled all entries will be deferred to the 2025 race. Sorry\, no refunds. \nAdverse Weather Policy:\nWe expect our events to happen rain or shine. No one\, including the Race Director\, wants to make changes to an event on race day. However\, the safety of our participants is of paramount concern. In the event of adverse weather conditions\, the Race Director\, in communication with the local law enforcement and the city\, may delay the event\, cancel the event\, or make changes to the race course. \nAdverse Weather Definition:\nThe event may be delayed or canceled due to Tornado Warning\, Tornado Watch\, Thunderstorm\, Heavy Rain\, or any other extreme weather condition. Light to moderate rain is not considered an Adverse Weather Condition.\n \nCommunication:\nIf the event is canceled more than 12 hours before the event\, we will notify participants via the race website and email. If the event is canceled less than 12 hours before the event we will notify participants via the race website and email. Participants will be notified via email where they can pick up their race packets if they have not already done so.
