SUMMARY:RVR Running for a Pawpose 5k
DESCRIPTION:Lace up your running shoes and join us for the RVR Running for a Pawpose 5k! This charity run is a chance to enjoy a beautiful morning while making a tangible difference in the lives of animals in need. All proceeds from the event will go directly to Furry Tails Rescue\, a local no-kill\, foster-based dog rescue dedicated to saving abandoned and stray dogs. \nThe run will take place at 8am. in Merritt Park in Dardanelle\, AR. We’ll have awards for the overall male and female runners and walkers. \nEvery step you take and every dollar you donate helps Furry Tails Rescue continue its vital work. Since its founding in 2014\, this 100% volunteer-run organization has rescued and rehomed nearly 6\,000 dogs. As a foster-based rescue\, all dogs receive personalized care in loving homes\, not kennels. The money raised from this event will help cover essential veterinary costs—from basic spay/neuter surgeries to more extensive treatments for heartworm and injuries. While the adoption fees only cover a fraction of these costs\, your support helps bridge the financial gap and ensures that every dog gets a second chance at a happy\, healthy life. \nWe will be collecting donations at the event for the following items\, for every item you donate you will get an entry into our raffle for some of our wonderful prizes. \nDry and canned dog food (no Gravy Train\, please) \nPuppy pads \nClorox wipes \n10×10 or larger tarps \nZip ties \nGas gift cards \nStainless steel bowls \nSmall swimming pools \nBox fans \nExtension cords \nWater hoses \nAutomatic feeders \nStall rakes \nTogether\, we can make a difference—one paw at a time. We start about a half mile from the school on dirt road and then it turns into paved road the rest of the way up to the top of Mt. Magazine. Once at the top\, there will be a shuttle to get you to the bottom of the mountain – Or you can go a little extra an run down! What goes up must come down\, right? \nEarly start for Mount Magazine is 6:30am! \nKeep the adrenaline pumping with an up and downhill all paved course on Danville Mtn. with the Danville Mountain 5k on August 16\, 2025. \nWe wrap up the series with the deliciously named Mt. Nebo Chicken Fried 10k on September 13\, 2025.This is a paved course that starts at the bottom of Mt. Nebo at the Dollar General across the road. Once at the top\, there will be a shuttle to get you to the bottom of the mountain – Or you can go a little extra an run down! What goes up must come down\, right? \nWhere you earn the bragging rights along with some awesome swag for the finale! \nEach race comes with a Shirt. There are custom medals made for each race. DESCRIPTION:Do you have the GRIT and GUTS to traverse up and down Mt. Nebo… TWICE? \nGRIT and GUTS is back!! Half Grit and Full Grit will be hard. And they will be beautiful. \nIt will be equal parts VERT and equal parts fast flow\, we promise! \nThe race is a fun run so is FREE unless you would like a shirt to commemorate the day! Our sweet soft 50/50 shirts from Rock City Outfitters return! The shirts are unisex fit. Please pick the size you want during registration. The shirts cost $15 and after you signup\, we will send you a link to pay for it.  Any shirts not paid for before the shirt order will not be ordered. Thanks! \nAll of the proceeds from this race go to the Friends of Nebo! They maintain and care for all of the trails on Mt Nebo. \nWe will have an aid station every 4-6 miles and would love to have you volunteer\, run\, or enjoy the mountain with your family. If you’re running and have family there we can put them to work! \nThe race starts from the Sunset Point parking lot and after a quick look at the point and a short section of the 3C trail\, you’ll head down the Sunset connector and take a left onto Lizard Tail. You’ll go roughly a mile on Lizard past the seasonal waterfall. Then up to the Rim trail where you’ll take a right and end up at Sunrise Point for another beautiful view of the river valley. Then you’ll go down the Sunrise connector taking a right. You’ll make your way down to the Bench trail crossing and go right onto Miller’s Goat. You’re at the 5k point and will follow Miller’s 4 miles (including a water stop) to end up at the aid station. Proceed on Miller’s another mile past the Bench overlook to the Ox pull trail. Go down Ox 1.7 miles to the bottom and you’ll find another aid station to lift your spirits for the climb back up. Once you get back up turn right briefly on Miller’s to the Overlook and then stay on the Bench trail back a mile to the Aid station. If you’re doing 13 head up the Sunset connector to the finish. For the 20 you will head right down the Chickalah (pronounced like tequila!) loop trail for a mile and go left at the Y and do the loop clockwise. Then back up to the aid station one last time and up Sunset connector a long half mile to the finish. Piece of cake!

The drive-up Highway 155 will begin your memorable trip to the mountain top (Trailers longer than 24ft not recommended). \nNew for 2023 and in conjunction with BME and Jagged Axe Trail Designs\, there will be fresh trails built for expert level riders and in line with the technical nature that suits a BME event. Stay tuned for updates on the trail building progress\, which will break ground in early winter.
