SUMMARY:Ken Freeman Huff\, Puff\, then Stuff 5K
DESCRIPTION:Earn that Thanksgiving Day stuffing by bringing the whole family and all your friends out to participate in the Thanksgiving morning turkey trot 5K in scenic and historic Hot Springs National Park\, Arkansas. The race takes place on the Hot Springs Greenway\, starting and ending at the Transportation Depot. Participants will receive a finisher’s medal to commemorate the day! This year our swag will be long sleeved t-shirts for youth participants and windbreakers for adult participants. The inventory is limited though\, so be sure to register early! In the effort to get everyone off to their respective holiday plans\, we will not have an awards ceremony\, but you will still see winning categories on RunSignUp. \nOverall Male and Female will walk away with sumpthin pumpkin! Pumpkin Pie? Pumpkin Roll? Gotta be there to find out! \nProceeds benefit Hot Springs Friends of the Parks specifically for expanding the multi-use trail system in Hot Springs. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nPacket Pickup Days and Times\n\nWednesday\, November 26 from 3-5pm at The Parks and Trails office at 111 Opera Street in Hot Springs. \nThursday\, November 27\, from 6:30-7:45am at The Transportation Depot at 100 Broadway Terrace in Hot Springs. \n\n\n\n\n\nSwag Alert!\n\nSwag is limited inventory. Sign up early to guarantee yours. Early is at least two weeks before the race. Participants may opt out of swag for a $5 discount. \n\n\n\n\n\nShoes and Socks Donations Needed!\n\nAs in the last two years\, we are thankful for the opportunity to serve our community in partnership with Grace Church and Community Thanksgiving Meal and Give! \nIt’s easy to participate! \n1-Bring new\, or clean used shoes and new socks to donate when you arrive on race day. \n2-We will transport your generous donations to the Farmer’s Market where the Community Thanksgiving Meal and Give will take place after our race. \n\n\n\n\n\nCourse Map\n\nOur race will take place on the paved Hot Springs Greenway Trail. We will start at the Transportation Depot and run to Hollywood Park\, turning around before the road. At Hollywood Park there will be a water station and a party!! Head on back to the Transportation Depot and cheer on your friends as they finish!

SUMMARY:Hot Springs National Park Trail Run
DESCRIPTION:ATTENTION: Across the street from Fat Jack’s is St. Mary of the Springs Catholic Church. They have agreed to let us park in their parking lot and use their restroom. Please park there instead of at Fat Jack’s. There is additional street parking along Whittington and Pine St. The sign-in will be under the portico at St Mary’s. The finish will still be at Fat Jack’s.\nNEW: For UTS-Lite you run the shorter 14-mile course.\nRegistration is required.\nWe ask if you registered but will not come\, please un-register (or contact us) so we don’t waste a slot.\nRegistration is free. There will be a donation can to cover the cost of the permit $530.\n7:00-7:45 AM Runner check in at St. Mary of the Springs Catholic Church\, 100 Central Ave\, Hot Springs\, AR 71901\n7:45 AM Mandatory pre-race briefing\n7:55 AM Runners walk and assemble at the Canyon Trailhead next to the Mountain Valley Water building\n8:00 AM Race Start\nRunners must remain on trails at all time. Bushwhacking is not allowed.\nRunners must run in single file and pass only when there is room.\nRunners must be courteous and yield right of way to other trail users. The trail is used by hikers\, tourists and even horse riders. We do not have exclusive use of the trails. The National Park was kind enough to allow this race to be held provided we do not interfere with other users of the trail.\nIf you come upon a horse\, do not startle it. Make sure the horse & rider know you are there before you get too close.\nIf nature calls\, make sure you leave no trace.\nThe trail crosses 6 roads. Use caution. Stop and look both ways. You will not run on the road. You will just cross it.\nThe last 1/4 mile is on sidewalks down Fountain St. and up Central Ave. Use caution. The finish is at Fat Jack’s.\nThe course is well marked. If you are new to the area we recommend that you familiarize yourself with the course beforehand. See course map Google Map. and Park Trails Map\nWe recommend you carry a phone. Carry plenty of water.\nThere will be 2 manned aid stations at roughly mile 7 (Cedar Glades Rd.) and mile 10.3 (Stonebridge Rd). At mile 5 (Blacksnake Rd.) there will be water and light unmanned aid. The aid stations will provide water\, sports drink\, sodas\, and a variety of snacks. At roughly mile 13.3 the course passes behind a picnic area restroom. You can get extra water there.\nAt about mile 12.5 the 14-mile route shortcuts to the finish.
