SUMMARY:Rose Creek Walk
DESCRIPTION:This is a Rose Creek Initiative Outing!\n\n\nIf you have any questions\, please email Mike Sprague at msprague17@hotmail.com\, or call or text him at 406-370-4792.\n\n\n\nMeet at: the warehouse parking lot (2226 North Cantrell Road\, Little Rock\, AR 72202) near Gill Street and near where Rose Creek enters the Arkansas River. From there we will shuttle to the Burger King/Fire Station area on Markham Street and walk the creek back.\n\nThis walk is a great adventure that journeys down Rose Creek through the Capitol View-Stifft Station Neighborhood (and beyond). Following the creek is quite a trek and goes through a diversity of landscapes that can’t be seen elsewise. It’s great way to get to know the creek and the area!\n\nThis 2½-to-3-mile walk is mostly in the creek\, and much of it is on rocky\, uneven surfaces.\n\nPlan for about two hours\, and because much of it will be in the water\, tall rubber boots are recommended.

SUMMARY:4th Annual Central Arkansas' Last Chance Run
DESCRIPTION:Please join local running clubs including the Arkansas Running Klub\, Arkansas Ultra Running Association\, Blue Rose Running Co.\, Cabot Country Cruisers\, Conway Running Club\, Fun Arkansas Running Club\, Little Rock Roadrunners\,  River Valley Runners\, Saline County Striders and the Spa Pacers on Saturday\, December 27th at 9 AM for the 4th Annual Central Arkansas’ Last Chance Run!  This FREE run will take place at War Memorial Park and anyone is welcome to participate! We will meet in the parking lot west of the roundabout at Fair Park Blvd and Zoo Dr.  There is limited parking within the park\, but there is plenty of overflow parking at the nearby War Memorial Stadium. \nThere will be 2.5 mile marked loop around the park that participants will be welcome to run or walk as many times as they would like!   There will also be a 1/2 mile kids run at 8:40 AM. \nDrinks and snacks will be provided after the run in a covered pavilion and there will be a number of door prizes to be given away to registered participants that are in attendance.  Many of the participating running clubs and sponsors will have tables and tents set up so you can get in your miles with old friends\, and then hang out out afterwards to make some new ones! \nWe will also be taking online donations for the Arkansas Foodbank.  We will not be accepting canned food donations this year. Donations are not required\, but are encouraged.  The participating running clubs will once again have a friendly competition to win the Last Chance Run Cup.  See more information below. \nThank you to our sponsors and friends that have helped to make this event possible: Arkansas RRCA Grand Prix\, Blue Rose Physical Therapy\, Coker Fit Photographer\, Fleet Feet Little Rock\, Garner Timing Services\, Little Rock Parks & Recreation and Rock City Running.  Special thanks to Little Rock Parks & Recreation for once again allowing us to use War Memorial Park for the event! \nPlease note that this is a “rain or shine” event with exception for unsafe inclement weather (e.g. lightning). Those who choose to participate should recognize that the suggested route will be open to the public and part of the loop will involve running along a sidewalk of a city street with vehicular traffic. Each individual is encouraged to use appropriate caution and is responsible for his or her own safety.  Additionally\, if runners choose to run outside the designated loop they need to do so at their own discretion\, as the streets around the park will be open to the public. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe Last Chance Cup – Benefiting Arkansas Food Bank\n\nCurrently 1 in 6 Arkansans struggle to provide enough food for their family\, and 1 in 5 children in Arkansas are at risk for going hungry.  As the largest hunger-relief organization in the state\, The Arkansas Foodbank is the foundation in the fight against hunger. They find pathways to connect people\, resources and food to reach those in need\, providing dignity\, hope and a brighter future for all Arkansans. \nWe will once again be having a friendly competition for the Last Chance Run Cup that will culminate at midnight on December 31\, 2025.  The winning club will be determined based on the number of meals provided per club member with every $1 donated being equal to 5 meals.  In the first two years the event has raised nearly $16\,000 in donations and 2\,106 lbs of food were collected..  As a result more than 83\,000 meals were able to be provided to Arkansans because of the generosity of our running community!  Let’s continue to add to that amazing total this year! \n**Please note that we will only be doing online donations via Runsignup.  No food will be collected the day of the event. \nDonations are not required\, but are encouraged.  If you are part of a club please make any cash donations by clicking on the club name below.  If you aren’t part of a running club\, but wish to make a donation\, you can either donate on behalf of a club of your choice or visit www.arkansasfoodbank.org.

SUMMARY:Jacob Wells 3 Bridges Marathon
DESCRIPTION:3 Bridges Marathon – Saturday\, December 6\, at 7:00 a.m. \nRiver Mountain Park/ Two Rivers Bridge – 4468 River Mountain Road\, Little Rock\, AR \nAid Stations\, Restrooms\, and Medical Support \nThere are aid stations that average nearly every mile. There are numerous restrooms\, including permanent restrooms on the River Trail and portable ones that we will place on the course. Medical personnel will be on duty at the Start/Finish and on the course. A clothing drop will be at Mile 2\, where you may leave any clothing to be delivered to the finish line. \n Awards \nAwards will go to the top three males and females overall\, master\, grand master and senior and to the top five males and females in five-year age groups starting with 19 and under through 75+. \nThe awards ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. for the overall winners. Following the ceremony\, age group awards may be picked up at the information booth as soon as the results in that age group have been verified and finalized by the timing company. Early starters may not pick up awards until their age groups have been verified and all regular starters in their age group have finished. \nCourse \nThe course is almost entirely on the Arkansas River Trail and is a 19-mile loop to the east and then a 7-mile loop to the west. The course crosses the Big Dam Bridge at Miles 1 and 18\, the Clinton Presidential Bridge at Mile 9\, and the Two Rivers Bridge at Miles 19 and 26. The course crosses the Start/Finish line going west at 19 miles. The course is mostly flat\, except for the three bridges. The course is mostly paved trail. The course is USATF certified as AR13030DLP. See the Course tab for more detail. \nAll miles are clearly marked. Please carry your trash and dispose at the mile markers or aid stations. We discourage placing valuables in drop bags. \nThe drop bag area is a U-Haul parked at the Start/Finish line area near where you will be dropped off by the 3 Bridges Marathon trolley. It will be December in Arkansas\, so it could be 20 degrees or 70 degrees and may change that much overnight. Bring plenty of warm clothes for after the race. You may retrieve your bag immediately upon finishing\, get warm\, and enjoy food\, music\, and fellowship. \nEarly Start \nAn early start of 5:00 am will be allowed for those expecting to take between six and eight hours. Runners expecting to take longer than six hours are asked to take the early start option or may be removed from the course. Runners taking the early start and finishing significantly faster than six hours may be disqualified. \nIndicate Early Start with your online registration. If you did not indicate so with your online registration\, email your request to info@3bridgesmarathon.com with the email subject EARLY START.   You may not take the early start option unless you have registered online with your normal race registration or received an email confirmation of your post-registration email request. Runners starting early without having registered to do so are subject to disqualification. If you are unsure\, confirm at packet pickup that you are on the registered early start list. \nSee the Parking instructions for early starters. Early starters are responsible for being at the starting line at 5:00 a.m. Early Starters will park near the boat dock at River Mountain Park (4468 River Mountain Road\, Little Rock\, AR). \nEarly starters are eligible for awards in every age group but may not pick up their awards at the information booth until all regular starters in that age group have completed the race and the timing company has declared the results in that age group to be final. \nFacebook \nCheck us out at www.facebook.com/3bridgesmarathon. If you aren’t a follower\, please become one because this is a great benefit to our sponsors\, and it is the quickest way to get up to the minute race information. \nFee \nRegistration fees for the 3 Bridges Marathon are non-refundable\, but are transferrable through the RunSignUp site for a $20 fee.  See Transfers and Deferral Option policy.  Registration for the marathon is $120 plus service fee through November 10\, then $140 through noon December 4. Late registration will be offered at packet pick-up for $160. There is no race day registration. \nHalf Marathon \nThere is no half marathon option or other race distance. \nInformation Booth \nThere will be an information tent at the Start/Finish where you may address issues and ask questions. Shirt exchanges will be accommodated based on availability by request at the information booth on race day FOLLOWING THE RACE START. Shirt exchanges will not be mailed after race day.  Age group awards will be available at the information booth as each age group is verified and finalized by the timing company\, following the 11 a.m. awards ceremony. \nMedals \nEvery finisher gets a medal\, which will be distributed at the finish line. \nPacket Pickup \nPacket pickup will be at Rock City Running in the Market Place Shopping Center\, 11121 N Rodney Parham Rd Ste 37B\, Little Rock\, Arkansas on Friday\, December 5\, from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. The phone number is (501) 313-4689. We thank Rock City Running for hosting us! \nParking Instructions \nDetailed Parking instructions are listed here. Do not attempt to drive down or to park on or at the bottom of River Mountain Road after the Early Start. This area is reserved for race officials\, volunteers\, and emergency vehicles. Failure to comply with this requirement may result in disqualification and ban from future 3 Bridges events. \nPhotographs \nRace photographs will be taken by Marvin Winston and his team from Run Bike Swim Photos. Signs will indicate upcoming photographers. You will be contacted after the race with proofs and purchase information. Photos can be ordered at www.runbikeswimphotos.com. \nPost-Race Activities \nPost-race finish line activities will include the awards ceremony at 11:00 a.m. and food and beverages for runners\, friends\, and family. \nRace Results \nRace results will be provided immediately by Garner Timing Services on your smart phone through the RunSignUp.com Results app in your app store. Race results will also be provided to MarathonGuide. \nSafety \nMedical personnel from Metropolitan Emergency Medical Services (MEMS) will be on hand at the Start/Finish and patrolling the course. Law enforcement will be on hand at the Start/Finish and at every section of the course that converges with traffic. \nFor the short sections of the Arkansas River Trail that converge with the roadway\, runners must remain aware of vehicular traffic at all times. Runners must remain to the right side of the roadway\, observe course monitors’ instruction\, and proceed through intersections with caution. Race numbers should be securely pinned to the front of your clothing and visible at all times. \nStrollers\, rollerblades\, skates\, unauthorized vehicles\, and pets are strictly prohibited to ensure runner safety. Pets are prohibited on the 3 Bridges Marathon trolley\, except for service animals. \nShirts \nShirts are long-sleeve unisex technical fabric. Select from XS\, S\, M\, L\, XL\, and XXL at the time of registration. Shirt sizes may be exchanged on race day at the Rock City Running information tent subject to availability. Shirt exchanges will not be mailed after race day. \nSpectator Guide \nSee the Spectators guide prepared for your friends and family to enjoy the day cheering for you along the course. You will not find another course on trails this beautiful that is also this accessible. The guide includes directions\, descriptions\, and approximate mile marks for numerous viewing areas. Your friends and family may see you many times\, often twice at one stop in a short period. Better yet\, have your friends and family volunteer for an early or late shift and cheer the other half of the day! \nThe course is almost entirely on the Arkansas River Trail system. However\, in a few short stretches\, roads with vehicular access converge with sections of the trail. Although we know you will be very mindful of traffic and there will be police officers at these locations\, please remind your friends and family that if they drive near the course to be courteous and careful. \nTime Limit \nThe race begins at 7:00 a.m. There is a 6 hour time limit for the regular start. There is an early start option at 5:00 a.m. for runners planning to take between 6 and 8 hours. There is an 8 hour time limit for the early start. See details under Early Start above. Runners expecting to take longer than six hours are asked to take the early start option or may be removed from the course. \nTravel \nThere is no host hotel and no hotel within walking distance to the parking lots. Race shuttles will not offer pickups from hotels. Prior transportation plans are encouraged. \nParticipants staying at local hotels may have a cab bring them to the race parking lot\, and then ride the shuttle to the starting line. Cabs will only be allowed to deliver participants to the starting line for the Early Start. Instructing your cab to drive down River Mountain Road for the regular start may result in disqualification and ban from future 3 Bridges events. \nVolunteers \nIt takes a tremendous number of volunteers to carry out a marathon. See Volunteers for clubs and organizations involved. Every major running club in central Arkansas has committed members and resources to make the 3 Bridges Marathon possible. If you would like to volunteer write info@3bridgesmarathon.com. \nWaiver \nThe marathon waiver is included with your online registration. Specifically note the Event Policies tab regarding cancellations\, registration refunds\, deferral option\, waiting list\, transfers\, and inclement weather. Online signature of the waiver upon registration acknowledges your understanding and adherence to all event policies. \nThank you for complying with all runner instructions.

SUMMARY:Stride For A Cure: 5K for Breast Cancer Awareness
DESCRIPTION:We’re back for Year 2! Join us for the 2nd Annual 5K Walk/Run for Breast Cancer Awareness\, hosted by Dr. Kim Leverett — breast cancer survivor and owner of A Kick Above: A Personal Training Studio.\nKim spent 10 years as a full-time pharmacist before following her passion for fitness and wellness. She transitioned into personal training to help others move beyond managing symptoms to truly living well. In 2013\, after a routine mammogram\, Kim was diagnosed with breast cancer. Her treatment included six rounds of chemotherapy and 35 rounds of radiation. Remarkably\, throughout her treatment\, she continued to train clients and maintain her own workouts — often without anyone knowing what she was facing. Kim credits her faith in Christ\, her fitness foundation\, and the support of her clients for carrying her through.\nNow cancer-free since 2014\, Kim is on a mission to empower others to prioritize their health and wellness. This annual event is her way of giving back\, spreading awareness\, and honoring all those impacted by breast cancer. Net proceeds will benefit the Arkansas Cancer Coalition. Let’s continue to stride together for a cure! \nWhat to expect:\n● Race Day shirt for participants registered before Sep 1st\n● Medal for fun walkers & competitive runners\n● Chip timing with live results for competitive runners\n● Snacks and water at the finish line\n● A positive\, uplifting\, family-friendly atmosphere! \nRegistration:\n● Early Bird (through September 1st): $35\n● Regular (after September 1st): $45\n● Register by September 1st to guarantee your race shirt! Registrants after September 1st will not receive a shirt.

SUMMARY:13th Annual Omega Prostate Cancer Awareness 5K Run/Walk
DESCRIPTION:The 13th Annual Omega Prostate/Colon Cancer Awareness 5K Run/ Walk is a race event for which all the proceeds are donated in support of The Arkansas Prostate Cancer Foundation\, American Cancer Society and scholarships for High School students. \nWe are grateful for the continued opportunity to raise money to help these two organization and continue to provide scholarships to deserving high school students.  With  the support of the community\, last year we increased our participants to over 267 runners and walkers and we were able to raise $5\,715.62 above expenses that has been distributed to support the Arkansas Prostate Cancer Foundation\, the American Cancer Society and scholarships for deserving high school students through the Omegas of Greater Little Rock\, Incorporated non- profit corporation.  These organizations greatly appreciate the support that you gave to last year’s event. \nToo many men will hear the words “You have prostate cancer” in this calendar year. Our goal is to increase the recognition\, discussion\, education\, and promotion of yearly screenings for prostate and Colon cancer. According to the latest prostate cancer statistics from the National Cancer Institute\, about 240\,000 men will receive a diagnosis of prostate cancer\, and about 33\,000 men will die of the disease. Overall\, about 17%\, or 1 in 6 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer during his lifetime.  More than 2.5 million men in America are now living with a diagnosis of prostate cancer. Reports show that prostate cancer is the second leading cause of cancer deaths among men in the United States\, accounting for about 11% of cancer related deaths in men.  Colon Cancer is the third most commonly diagnosed cancer and the second leading cause of cancer death in men and women combined in the United States.  The American Cancer Society estimates that this year 136\,830 people will be diagnosed and 50\,310 will die from this disease. \nThank you in advance for your continued support to help us knock out Prostate and Colon cancer!

To reserve\, go to www.rocktownriveroutfitters.com and use Promo code: “ACC25”\nThis is an “anyone can do it” flat water skill level.\n\nWhen we return\, we’ll be having hot dogs\, chips\, beans….and whatever you bring for your own beverage of choice. A $5/person donation is appreciated to offset costs. We may even have a fire pit if burn bans are still off and allowing. So bring a chair too.

SUMMARY:Scorchin' Squirrel Trail Run
DESCRIPTION:NO RACE DAY REGISTRATION \nThe Scorching’ Squirrel is a trail race through Ferncliff Camp and Conference Center’s 1200 acres located just 10 miles west of Little Rock.  There are 4 distance options: a 10k (1 loop)\, 11.5 mile (2 loops)\, 15.5 mile (3 loops) or 19.5 mile (4 loops). All distances are approximate.  Each loop passes through 1 full aid station and one water drop.   There will be refreshments at the end with a cook out at the pool.  Please bring stuff to share although Fleet Feet Little Rock and Ferncliff will provide burgers and hot dogs.  We will begin serving food at 10 AM.  No glass containers please.  No pets. \nThis is a great race for heat training and for trying out trail running with the shorter distances.  There is quite a bit of incline throughout the course and a few water crossings in wet weather. \nAll the distances end back at the start of the race\, which is at the Ferncliff pool pavilion.  The pool will be open after the race.  It has a large covered pavilion and runners can cool off and enjoy some food and refreshments.  There are lots of changing stalls. \nAny proceeds from the event will support Ferncliff Camp and Conference Center.  If you’d like to reserve lodging the evening before the event call 501-821-3063 to reserve a room or cabin. \nIt takes about 25 volunteers to do this event right.  Would you like to volunteer and have a great time supporting runners?  If so please fill out this very brief volunteer application:  https://forms.gle/HeqTSnAQR2WghPqn6 \nClick Here to view the approximate route:  https://www.plotaroute.com/route/1404552 \nStrava course map for one loop completed:  https://www.strava.com/activities/5680121722?share_sig=6F664A841628868806&utm_medium=social&utm_source=ios_share \nAll distances begin: 7:00 am with a  6:50 am Mandatory Race Briefing

We will roll out at 7 PM sharp from the Clinton Lot and head to the Old State House for the free Soul Explosion Music Festival\, where one of our biking buddies is a featured DJ.
