SUMMARY:Outrun Cancer 5K
DESCRIPTION:Join us as we gather to honor\, remember and support those affected by cancer as we walk and outrun cancer on June 1\, 2024\, National Cancer Survivors Day. Together as a community\, we will begin in front of the ASUMH Sheid Building and end in the center of the campus at the Keller fountain. For the 5k\, the course will be two loops on the walking/jogging path around the campus. The honor walk will be one loop. There will be one aid station at the halfway point for the 5k. \nThe official route on Strava HERE \nThe proceeds of this race will support the many services and programs offered at the Peitz Cancer Support House which focus on fully supporting the needs of our community during their cancer diagnosis and well beyond. \nAs part of this race and honor event\, we encourage you to set up an individual &/or team fundraising page. There will be prizes for the top individual fundraiser and top team fundraiser. \nCommunity and companionship are such an important part of the cancer journey as well as for overall health and wellness. As such\, we are encouraging and challenging you to grab some friends\, family or coworkers and register together! Come together to help us outrun cancer. \nRace Day Instructions:  \n\nPacket Pickup will be June 1 from 7-7:45am.\nAthletes will check in at the center of the campus at the Keller Fountain.\nAfter pre-race announcements we’ll walk together to the race start.\nRunners will run clock-wise\, entering the ASUMH walking path at mile 0.2. Runners will complete one lap\, passing the aid station\, before heading out for lap two.\nVolunteers and signs will point runners back to the center of campus to finish at the Keller Fountain.\nStrollers are allowed.\nThe official route on Strava HERE
