SUMMARY:Spirit of Syllamo
DESCRIPTION:Brutal and Rewarding\nSpirit of Syllamo is a graduate level ultra in the Ozark Mountains. It is stunningly gorgeous but will make you earn the privilege of witnessing what the mountains have to offer. \nDistance options are 100 Miles and 38 Miles \nSome runners choose this race as their first 100 or first ultra. It is a doable challenge but this race is hard enough to humble veterans. Come prepared – your finish won’t come easy. \nWebsite and Contact\nwww.syllamoevents.com \nsyllamoevents@gmail.com \nOur website is PACKED full of info. If you can’t find the info here\, please check our website. If we forgot something\, we’re happy to answer questions and make updates. \nLodging and Restaurants\nLodging is available at the Start/Finish line or within 5 minutes. It is a gorgeous venue at the base of the mountains by the White River. A few locally owned restaurants are nearby\, plus dozens of options just 15 minutes north. \nTerrain\nHighly maintained singletrack trails that are rugged\, rocky\, steep\, and densely forested. This race crosses paved roads but never utilizes pavement as the route. More detailed course descriptions on our website. \nAid\nWe are blessed with a group of experienced volunteers who bring their A game. You can expect well stocked and substantial aid stations. We offer a more detailed description on our website but in short\, you shouldn’t be disappointed. \nSwag\, Post Race\, and Awards\nStandard Syllamo Events Swag includes a race shirt\, stickers\, and some giveaways from sponsors. Every event offers hats and other items available for purchase. \nAll Syllamo Events offer a lively\, family friendly atmosphere with food\, music\, and activities. Meals are provided for all runners and extra meals are available for family/friends. \nSpirit of Syllamo awards are custom made and substantial.\n38 mile finishers receive a laser engraved award.\n100 mile finisher receive a large laser engraved award and belt buckle.\nShould you DNF\, you earn a glittery DNF bumper sticker. No judgements if you aspire to earn one\, but maybe some side eye. \nRunners Packet\nOur website offers a downloadable runners packet that details everything you need to know about this race. We have an expectation that our participants utilize this packet. Again\, this is not an easy race. Even veteran runners have gone home with a DNF because they didn’t come prepared.
