DESCRIPTION:IT’S BACK! The annual “WANGO TANGO” endurance race\, a loud and rowdy 4-hour ENDURANCE mountain bike race/party on the City Lake trail system in Siloam Springs Arkansas is scheduled for Saturday November 18\, 2023! \nIn a partnership with the Siloam Springs Parks & Recreation\, the Borderline Ozark Off Road Cyclists are excited to bring mountain bike racing to western Benton County! \nAlong the same vein as the popular ‘Beast of Burden’ event\, the Wango Tango features 4-hours of solo and team relay racing on beginner and intermediate trails! \nTo add to the challenge\, a 3 p.m. start means the sun will set 2 hours into the race and competitors will be racing in the dark to finish. \nThis will be an electronically timed race. \nCategories include Solo Male\, Solo Male Junior\, Solo Female\, Solo Female Junior\, 4 Man Relay\, 4 Woman Relay\, 4 Person Co-Ed (any combination of male and female)\, 2 Person Male\, 2 Person Female\, 2 Person Co-Ed (1 male and 1 female)\, and 4 Person Junior co-ed (Can be any combination of male or female Junior racers aged 13-18)\, E-Bike solo male\, and E-bike solo female. Only class 1 E-bikes will be allowed to compete. \nCome smash it out solo or with your best compadres as the Wango Tango caters to all skill levels. The race is spectator friendly and friendly heckling is encouraged. \nPre-registration for ONLY $40/racer (Juniors are just $30) at https://app.regwiz.io/register/wango/1003 . There WILL NOT BE on-site registration on the event day this year. \nThere will be no parking at the race pit area. There will be signs designating approved parking areas. You will be required to drop off equipment at the pit area and then park your vehicle in designated parking areas. Support teams will be able to set up in the pit area until there is no room left\, so first come first serve. \nThere will be food from the grill\, snacks\, and water during the event for all participants. Trophies will be awarded 3 deep in every category. \nAll competitors must be 13 or older by December 31st\, 2023. \nHelmets are required to race\, and all competitors must have at least one light source to compete (Helmet AND bar lights are recommended). \nThe Wango Tango is unsanctioned\, and all participants must sign a waiver. Under 18 must have a parent or guardians’ signature to compete. \nProceeds from the event benefit the Borderline chapter of the Ozark Off-Road Cyclists and volunteer trail advocacy in Western Benton and Washington Counties. \nCity Lake is located just north of Siloam Springs\, Arkansas. From downtown head north on Mt. Olive Street and turn right onto Dawn Hill Road. Follow signs for parking. Only volunteers will be allowed to park at the trailhead/pit area. All participants must park in designated parking areas\, ride to the trailhead/pit area\, or drop off their equipment before parking.
