DESCRIPTION:Goals of the School of River Paddling \nThe goals and objectives of the School are to provide participants an opportunity to: \n\n\nFeel safer and have more fun on moving water \n\n\nRecognize typical river hazards and options for dealing with them \n\n\nImprove fundamental paddling skills of: \n\n\nBalance \n\n\nBoat edging \n\n\nBasic body mechanics \n\n\nPaddling strokes for power and turning \n\n\nCoordination and fluidity \n\n\nTiming \n\n\n\n\nRefine strokes and develop efficient maneuvers on flatwater \n\n\nUse ferries and eddy turns when moving downstream to improve river reading \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nArkansas Canoe Club school instructors use American Canoe Association course outlines to help you improve existing skills\, practice new skills\, and expand your knowledge of the river. Small classes of compatible participants allow instructors to teach to your needs.
