SUMMARY:Wampoo Roadeo
DESCRIPTION:Welcome to the Wampoo Roadeo presented by Aristotle Broadband! \nhttps://www.aristotle.net/internet/ \nThe 15th edition of the Wampoo Roadeo starts at 7:01am on Saturday\, July 15 from the All Souls Church\, 4601 Walker’s Corner Road\, in Scott\, Arkansas. Parking is available directly across the road from the church in the grass farm area. Parking is also available at the Scott Charter School on Alexander Road. Please do not park at the Scott\, Arkansas Post Office. \nThe first rest stop is at mile 20\, in England\, Arkansas. The fine folks of the City of England are sponsoring this stop.  The second rest stop is at mile 25\, in Keo\, Arkansas. The city of Keo is sponsoring this stop.  The third rest stop is at mile 34 at Bevis Corner and sponsored by McClelland Consulting Engineers and staffed by the Mello Velo Cycling Club. This is also the fifth stop at mile 55 after leaving Lonoke if you ride the 62 mile route.  The fourth rest stop is at mile 47 and sponsored by the City of Lonoke. \nThe Wampoo Pickle Juice Challenge is a Strava segment located on Highway 15 between Keo and Bevis Corner.  Look for the “Burma-Shave” type signs along the route leading up to the start of the one mile segment.  Fastest male and fastest female through the segment for each route\, plus the 15th fastest rider through the segment overall\, win prizes and bragging rights! \nThere will be watermelon at the Finish Line and the Loblolly Creamery Ice Cream Truck will be serving free scoops of ice cream with chocolate milk from 9:30am until 1:00pm.  Plan your ride accordingly to get back and have a cup of chocolate milk and a scoop (or two) of your favorite Loblolly ice cream. \nFeel free to set up your cycling club tents and hang out at the Finish Line after the ride. \nIf you ordered any merch’\, it will available for pick up\, along with your bib number at Packet Pickup. \nIf you can’t make Packet Pickup\, we’ll have your bib number and anything you ordered at the Start Line before the ride begins.  Look for the yellow pop up Registration tent. \nPlease note there will be a “Bevis Gate” set up at 10:00am at Bevis Corner. All riders not through the gate by 10:00am will be directed to the finish line via the 28/40 mile left turn at Bevis Corner. This is for everyone’s protection because of the heat\, humidity and the wind. \nThe Wampoo Roadeo is a fundraiser for Recycle Bikes for Kids (RB4K).  The mission of RB4K is to give free bikes to kids\, provide adults the opportunity to earn a bike\, and support bike infrastructure and education in the community. \nSince 2008\, a large part of the mission at RB4K is to get every kid a bike. But as RB4K has grown through the years \, it’s become clear how crucial bike infrastructure\, safety and education is to our community. Our new expanded mission addresses that need. Proceeds from this ride\, which will continue honoring the life and legacy of Marilyn Fulper\, will now directly help fund all of RB4K’s future infrastructure projects. \nMaps \nhttps://ridewithgps.com/routes/38489422  62 mile route \nhttps://ridewithgps.com/routes/38489439  40 mile route \nhttps://ridewithgps.com/routes/38489443  26 mile route

SUMMARY:Paddle Party
DESCRIPTION:The Northwest Arkansas Land Trust (NWALT) announced today that it will host its second annual Paddle Party fundraiser on Saturday\, July 15\, from 12:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Gypsy Camp and Canoe located at 20271 S Highway 59\, Siloam Springs\, AR. The floating fundraiser aims to raise $30\,000 for NWALT’s mission of protecting the lands and waters that sustain Northwest Arkansas. \nThe festivities will kick off with a fun 2-hour float along the Illinois River\, allowing participants to fully embrace the beauty of the Ozarks. Following the float\, attendees will be treated to a riverside cookout and a live band back at Gypsy Camp and Canoe. \nThe funds raised by the event will support the Land Trust’s areas of greatest need—land conservation\, water protection\, and environmental stewardship programs. Northwest Arkansas’ land and water play a vital role in sustaining the region’s ecological balance\, and the funds raised through Paddle Party will directly contribute to their perpetual safeguarding.
