Overnight, colors changed.
The annual Bad Jack’s Trail Festival was held this past weekend at Blanchard Springs Recreation Area in the Syllamo Ranger District, just outside of Mountain View, Arkansas. This event is presented by the folks at Syllamo Events. The festival began on Friday with a 5K run, followed on Saturday with a choice of a 16-mile or marathon distance trail run through the Syllamo Trails. Back at the start/finish line family and friends enjoyed a beautiful but slightly warm day. Once the runners had returned, everyone enjoyed incredible food, live music, and the Micro Bike races in the parking lot.
The temperatures dropped a bit Saturday night and we woke up to even better fall colors. It’s not a bad way to experience the area.
Sunday morning opened up with a 16-mile or marathon distance mountain bike ride plus more great food. As a reminder, it’s a good idea to schedule some extra time in the area whenever attending an event at Blanchard to explore the Spring, Mirror Lake, and the Caverns.
The trails were in great condition and should hold throughout the Fall and Winter if we don’t get any major storms. Get out there and enjoy them. Here are some random photos from the weekend. Watch for all the photos to be uploaded in the next day or two.
