Arkansas Outside is NOT the owner or organizer of these events (unless otherwise noted). We aggregate these events into this one place to allow our readers a chance to see what outdoor recreation events are going on around the state. There is no need for FOMO when playing outside.

Randonneuring Gravel Rally of the Ozarks

A unique gravel bike experience for you and your teammate!
Completed in teams of two, the Randonneuring Gravel Rally of the Ozarks is a day long adventure navigating and riding some of the best gravel in north central Arkansas!
Here’s the skinny:
Completed in teams of two (or solo if you so desire), the Randonneuring Gravel Rally of the Ozarks is a day long adventure navigating and riding some of the best gravel in north central Arkansas!
Here’s the skinny:
- Teams of two solid riders
- Two gravel bikes, one vehicle capable of carrying both bikes
- One driver, one navigator
- Start in Mountain Home
- Strategically navigate and ride all three (or just two, or just one) gravel routes
- Routes are 20 +/- miles each
- Track your routes and progress (Strava or Ride GPS)
- Return to Mountain Home for post-event festivities
Solo participants are welcome as well, we’re just partial to the idea of spending a day with a buddy!
This is the inaugural year for the event, so prices are low, as we want your feedback as much as we want you to have a good time!

Friday 3/6
7:00 – 9:00 pm – Meet & Greet (Just come to Rapp’s, you’ll find us!)
Saturday 3/7
6:00 – 6:30 am – Packet pickup
6:30 – Pre-Ride meeting for all participants (Mandatory)
7:00 – Depart from Rapp’s
3:00 – cut-off time if you have not started your 3rd route
Single Riders Looking for a Teammate
If you’d like to participate in this event but you need a teammate, we have you covered! Go the the main RGRO site and complete the Single Rider form (near the bottom of the page); we’ll add you to the pool of single riders and see who we can match up!
Course Description
You’ve heard of the Ozarks? You’re about to see an awful lot of them!
The three gravel routes triangulate Mountain Home. Here are the routes:
Gamaliel, Arkansas
23.4 miles, 2,088 ft. elevation gain
99.9% gravel…lots of fun!
Gamaliel route HERE
Norfork, Arkansas
17.8 miles, 1,766 ft. elevation gain
50/50 gravel and paved.
Be prepared to hike-a-bike and fly down Push Mountain Road

Rea Valley, Arkansas
20 miles, 1,897 ft. elevation gain
90% gravel with one hellacious hill in the middle!

FAQ

Q: Are there awards?
A: There will be one award to recognize the first team to completes all three courses and return to Rapp’s.
Q: What if I don’t have a teammate?
A: Single riders who want to participate with a teammate can fill out the Single Rider Form We’ll collect your information and connect people.
A: You may ride solo if you desire, we’re just partial to the idea of doing things with a buddy.
Q: Are e-bikes permitted?
A: Yes, e-bikes are permitted, however you’ll be ineligible for the overall award.
