StudioDRIFT announces a new off-road running event on Saturday, May 11th in Helena, Arkansas: The Delta Dash
This event marks an important milestone in the realization of the newly formed Delta Grit series, which began with the annual Delta Grind bike rally. As studioDRIFT has grown, they have acquired the resources to expand the original event into a series that combines running, cycling, and paddlesports with music, food, and other fun cultural activities. It’s an event that caters to everyone interested in discovering what makes the Delta special. This year, the festivities include a Friday night jazz concert featuring Bri Ailene, Jose Holloway, and Rodney Block, as well as a Saturday afternoon community block party and cornhole tournament.
This 27K (16.8 mile) run consists of 85% off-road terrain and will take participants to the point where the Mississippi and Saint Francis Rivers meet. The route traverses through downtown Helena, along the Mississippi River levee, and the ancient hardwoods of the Saint Francis National Forest. Join studioDRIFT for an unforgettable experience and immerse yourself in the Delta’s unique culture and history, which makes it one of the most fascinating places on Earth. For a complete schedule of events and other festival information, please visit the event website.
Registered athletes will enjoy an all-inclusive day filled with post-race beers, snacks, a meal, and live music by Andy Ratliff. While this event isn’t a race, special recognition will be given to runners who get the muddiest or stay the cleanest.
The Delta Dash welcomes individuals of all skill levels, including walkers, hikers, kayakers, and anyone seeking relaxation.
This is an exceptional experience in the Arkansas Delta that you do not want to miss, filled with music, history, and excellent running routes. If you are interested in camping nearby, we have the perfect spot for you. It is conveniently located in town and right alongside the river. Learn all about the weekend here.
The Delta Grit Series is an event that aims to showcase studioDRIFT’s dedication to the growth of rural Arkansas. Although the Delta boasts a unique landscape, it has not received as much attention for outdoor recreation as other areas have. The organizers of the event hope that adventure recreation will help to improve the economy and ecology of the entire Natural State, including the Delta, which is often overlooked. They believe that the quality of life is directly linked to the quality of the place where one lives.
