This past weekend I was privileged to attend the Subaru-IMBA Trail Care Crew workshop at Devil’s Den State Park in Northwest Arkansas. We built some trail as part of the workshop and I was able to get first tires on it. The new trail starts across the street from the Visitor Center and takes you gradually down the hill to the Devil’s Den Trail trail head. I also rode out to the Fossil Flats Trail (one of the older mountain bike trails in the state). The last time I rode Fossil Flats was a week before a huge flood wiped out large parts of the trail, badly damaged a camping area and caused structural problems to the historic dam. The campground is repaired, the lake is being dredged and will reopen soon and the Fossil Flats Trail is better than ever with the help of some other work crews and Progressive Trail Design. Here is a little of the ride.
Get out there soon and ride this wonderful trail.
