Little Rock, AR — National Bike Month is in full swing, and Arkansas Outside kicked things off with a feature on KATV Channel 7’s Good Morning Arkansas this past Friday. The interview, conducted by host Ansley Watson, took place along the scenic Arkansas River Trail in Riverfront Park and focused on the growing movement to make Arkansas a more bike-friendly state.

Joe Jacobs of Arkansas Outside, joined Watson to discuss the importance of bicycle advocacy, local infrastructure improvements, and ways the public can get involved during National Bike Month. The conversation brought attention to how biking contributes to healthier communities, stronger economies, and more vibrant public spaces.

“National Bike Month is a time to celebrate cycling and remind everyone—whether they ride regularly or are just getting started—that biking is a great way to get around, stay healthy, and connect with others,” said Jacobs.

Jacobs, who also serves as the vice president of Bicycle Advocacy of Central Arkansas, emphasized BACA’s mission to work with local governments and planners to improve bicycle infrastructure, education, and safety. “Our goal is to make Central Arkansas a place where biking is safe, accessible, and enjoyable for everyone,” he said.

Set against the backdrop of one of the most well-used multi-use trails in the region, the interview also pointed viewers to upcoming events, group rides, and advocacy efforts happening throughout May in honor of National Bike Month.
