Updated Access Information (November 21, 2025)

You now have the opportunity to obtain or renew a yearly sportsman pass any day, any time. The Camp Robinson Recreation/Sportsman’s Pass provides access to the mountain bike trails, which are also suitable for running and hiking. Additionally, it offers hunting and fishing opportunities on the post. This is the easiest way to get a pass since the days of buying a pass at the local bike shops (pre-9/11).

For over 30 years, Camp Robinson has granted access to local mountain bikers. It boasts the oldest trail systems in Arkansas and has played a significant role in making mountain biking a popular outdoor activity for Arkansans. The unique single-track trail system, spanning over 40 miles, was built by volunteers and has improved the lives of countless soldiers and community members by providing a safe space to exercise while enjoying the natural beauty of Camp Robinson.

The nonprofit organization CATA coordinates volunteer trail maintenance and hosts mentorship rides for Youth Challenge students on Camp Robinson’s trails. Hundreds of local high school students participate in mountain bike racing practice with their NICA teams on the distinctive trails of Camp Robinson to improve their bike handling skills. The improved accessibility of the recreation pass is a testament to Camp Robinson’s unwavering commitment to the community.

To obtain a pass, you must bring your driver’s license, vehicle registration, and proof of insurance.

You will need a valid driver’s license, proof of current registration for your vehicle, and proof of current insurance for that vehicle.

Step-by-step instructions.

Steps for obtaining a Recreation/Sportsman’s Year Long Pass:

*It is not recommended to do this on a Monday morning unless you are prepared to stand in line with the post contractors who are getting their weekly passes.

  1. Download and fill out a Sportsman’s Pass Application (you can do this at the Visitor Center but this will speed things up).
  2. Go to the Gate on Military Drive in North Little Rock.  There is a small parking lot on the right. Pull in here and park your vehicle.
  3. Collect your driver’s license, proof of vehicle insurance, and proof of registration.
  4. Go into the security building.
  5. Present your license, insurance, and registration to the nice security person at the desk on the right.
  6. Before you leave, sign in to the bike log. It will be on that same desk or the desk across the room.
  7. Back at your vehicle, place the pass in your front window, driver’s side. Put away your driver’s license, insurance, and registration information.
  8. Drive to the front gate and present the pass to the guard on duty. They will read the bar code and wave you through. Be respectful of the speed limit as you go to and from the trails. (Directions to the mountain bike trails)
  9. After your ride, stop at the gate and check out in the bike log. You won’t need to do anything else.

Once you have the Recreation Pass:

  1. Go to the front gate security building as before.
  2. Sign in on the bike log.
  3. Show your Recreation Pass at the gate.
  4. When you leave, stop at the front gate and sign out.

One Response

  1. They will be doing away with passes soon and you will just have your drivers license scanned going in, this is already in place at ft. chaffey and the policy is being written as we speak. we will probably still sign in and out.
