Public invited to experience Modus-renovated center

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (July 18, 2019) – Guests to Fayetteville soon will be able to enjoy a revamped Experience Fayetteville Visitors Center, where they can learn about things to do and see in Fayetteville and Northwest Arkansas.

The Visitors Center, which is located on the Historic Downtown Square at 21 S. Block and has been closed since March for renovations, will host a reopening celebration Monday, July 22, starting at 11 a.m. The public is cordially invited to attend.

The center was redesigned to focus more on information and guest experience, Experience Fayetteville Executive Director Molly Rawn said.

“Besides being the definitive source of what to do in Fayetteville and the region, we want the Experience Fayetteville Visitors Center to be a place guests can have fun and be inspired,” Rawn said. “We want people to walk in and immediately get a sense of our community and what makes Fayetteville amazing.”

Along with structural changes designed by Fayetteville architecture firm Modus Studio, the new Visitors Center will feature large-scale art and neon messaging, as well as video and maps showcasing attractions throughout Fayetteville and Northwest Arkansas.

Daniel Aros, a project designer at Modus Studio, said, “Experience Fayetteville is a unique voice in our community. As the Visitors Center is a corner anchor of the downtown square, we worked diligently with Molly and her team to highlight the architectural language of the existing building and create an inviting experience for folks to learn about the place we call home.”

The Visitors Center will carry some merchandise specific to Fayetteville and Northwest Arkansas, including items made locally and only found at the Visitors Center.

Other creative aspects of the space will be added throughout the summer.
