“Genius begins great works. Labor alone finishes them.” – Joseph Joubert
Labor Day is often celebrated as a part of our work, our jobs, or our careers. We sometimes forget the labor that goes into building a community through volunteer work. Please remember today, those who work through volunteer organizations throughout the state to make our outdoor experience better, to give us access to beautiful places, and take care in designing our interactions with the natural world. Below are several organizations that are successful only through the work of volunteer labor.
- Arkansas Master Naturalists
- Ozark Off-Road Cyclist
- Central Arkansas Trail Alliance
- The Ozark Society
- Trail Advocacy Coalition of the Ouachitas
- Friends of the Ouachita Trail
- Mena Open Trail Alliance
- Friends of Arkansas Singletrack
- …and many more
