Hot Springs hosts a full day of trail running and spring celebration on May 9
Registration is now open for the fifth running of the Northwoods Mullet Trail Run and Beaver Bash, returning May 9 to the Northwoods Trail System in Hot Springs. The event continues to grow as one of the state’s favorite spring trail traditions, combining scenic singletrack, energetic community spirit and a post race party that keeps runners coming back.
The race offers both 25 kilometer and 10 kilometer distances, each with separate start times for runners who prefer to hit the trail with their dogs. After the finish line, the Beaver Bash will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with live music, food and beer. Spectators who want to skip the miles can join the celebration with ten dollar Beaver Bash tickets.
Fleet Feet Little Rock joins as presenting sponsor
“The Northwoods Mullet Trail Run and Beaver Bash welcomes Fleet Feet Little Rock as our new presenting sponsor,” said Visit Hot Springs Trails Coordinator Traci Berry. “Fleet Feet Little Rock brings a long history of serving and growing Arkansas’ running communities, both trail and road, to support the Mullet Run, leveraging their expertise and offering educational resources and training opportunities to runners throughout our region.”
Fleet Feet joins Harrison Construction, a long supporting partner of the event that again sponsors the music and grilling area.

AURA Ultra Trail Series Lite finale
The Mullet Run anchors the finale of the Arkansas Ultrarunning Association 2025 to 2026 Ultra Trail Series Lite calendar.
“The 14th and last race in the AURA UTS Lite calendar, the Northwoods Mullet looks forward to welcoming AURA runners from across the state to our trails here in Hot Springs, ranked among the best in Arkansas,” Berry said. “And, the Mullet continues welcoming trail dogs, with the 25K and 10K Dog Divisions. That’s right, your trail dog can run in your event with you. Registration is limited to 10 dogs for each race, so get your puppers registered ASAP.”
Dogs must remain on leash and under full control. Owners may be asked to remove dogs showing aggressive behavior.
