Squatch Til You Drop trail run

Squatch Til You Drop Returns to Allsopp Park

Firecracker 5K

The Squatch Til You Drop six-hour run stomped back into Allsopp Park earlier this month, and the big furry legend did not disappoint. Little Rock trail runners showed up ready for roots, rocks, rollers, and a whole lot of looped madness as they chased miles under the shifting daylight of Allsopp’s pines and hardwoods. It felt less like a race and more like a roaming trail party where runners traded jokes, encouragement, and maybe a Sasquatch sighting or two.

Unique Format

The format is simple. Run as many loops as you want in six hours. The freedom is what makes Squatch Til You Drop a favorite for new distance runners and seasoned ultramarathoners alike. Because the goal is time, not distance, participants can go all out for a 50k, cruise through a comfortable 10k, or simply see how long their legs will keep moving. It fills the gap between short trail races and longer ultras, giving runners a rare middle ground on real Little Rock singletrack.

The course at Allsopp Park keeps things interesting with punchy climbs, twisty descents, and rugged technical sections that test focus and footwork. Runners settled into the rhythm of the trail and let the woods work their magic for six straight hours. From sunrise glow to afternoon shadows, the loop delivered constant variety and plenty of chances to cross paths with other runners. It is one of the most social trail events in the city.

A Little Rock Parks and Recreation Event

The City of Little Rock highlights the Squatch Til You Drop event as part of its seasonal programming, inviting runners to experience one of the city’s most popular urban trail systems in a whole new way. The official event listing encourages participants to come ready for a challenge and ready for some fun. It is a celebration of community, endurance, and the legend of the Squatch who may or may not be watching from the woods.

Whether you are building toward a bigger goal or just want a quirky, low pressure way to add miles on dirt, Squatch Til You Drop is the perfect excuse to lace up and get a little wild in Allsopp Park.
