Join hundreds of runners, walkers, and holiday merrymakers for a little pre-turkey “trot.”
Go! Running of Little Rock is back hosting its annual Go!bbler Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving Day, benefiting the Arkansas Foodbank. The Turkey Trot has grown into the undisputed way to begin Thanksgiving Day for thousands of runners across the nation.
The story from last year
The run will begin at 8:00 am on November 28th at the Go! Running store located in The Heights on 1819 N Grant St. There will be group run options of 3 miles, 4 miles, and 6.5 miles that cover many aspects of running such as road, track, trails, and other “surprises” that are essentially a tour of Hillcrest and The Heights. A Group Run, no entry fee, no chips, no timing but a whole lot of fun. The run begins next to Go! Running and finishes back at the store.
How To Register:
The Go!bbler Turkey Trot is a FREE family run – simply bring non-perishable food items or cash donations for the Arkansas Foodbank. Santa will be there to help collect the food. Register online at www.gorunning.com/gobbler for the free run, and if you register by November 25th, you’re eligible to win a Thanksgiving turkey (fresh, local farm raised) from Hillcrest Artisan Meats on Kavanaugh.
“Out of all of the races and runs we do each year, the Go!bbler is the most meaningful,” says Gary Taylor, owner of Go! Running. “We get to donate close to 2,000 lbs. of food to the Arkansas Foodbank, right at the time of year families needed it most! It’s great knowing that many of our neighbors will get to enjoy the holidays more because of this outstanding running community.” Representatives from the Foodbank were thrilled with the goal and noted that 2,000 lbs of food would feed 1,600 meals.
And there’s one more payoff for waking up early on the holiday — pies from Rosalia’s Family Bakery and fresh Southern-style pecans from the Capital Hotel will be rewarded to winners of surprise categories. Thanksgiving-themed costumes are encouraged!
Water, drinks, and light refreshments will be available after the run. For more information, stop by Go! Running in the Heights, or call 501-663-6800.
