Arkansas’ 1st statewide bicycle and pedestrian summit will be held in Little Rock this weekend, May 9-11th. The event is being hosted by Bike/Walk Arkansas, the newly formed state coalition for bicyclists and pedestrians. The coalition was formed from regional and city bike and pedestrian coalitions from around the state. The goal is to affect change at the state level to make Arkansas more bicycle and pedestrian friendly.

May 9th: “Different Spokes” Opening Reception 6:30 to 8:30pm
You must RSVP on the Old Statehouse Museum website.
(This is a free reception and you do not have to register for the summit to attend.)
May 10th: Bike/Walk Summit
8 to 9am: Registration
9 to 3pm: Summit
4 to 6pm: Fun walks,rides, and runs
6:30 to 8:30pm: Summit Party on the Statehouse Lawn

May 11th: Central Arkansas Cyclofemme 2014 Bike Ride
Murray Park, Pavilion #2, 5900 Rebsamen Park Rd., Little Rock
Rides leaving at 2:30 returning at approximately 3:30 for refreshments. A women only ride, celebrating the power of the bicycle and inspiring girls to get on a bike and ride. We will have both on road and off road rides for all levels of riders. All rides will be no-drop social rides, the goal is to share the love of cycling, to empower our sisters to begin riding or to ride more often, and to be good ambassadors of cycling to other riders.
