The Second-Annual Women of OZ Sunset Summit offers a well-rounded experience with clinics and workshops, wellness programming, a shopping hub, and more. BENTONVILLE, Ark. (August 1, 2023) - The Women of OZ (WOZ) Sunset Summit fundraiser returns to Bentonville, Arkansas, this fall as the world’s largest women’s mountain biking summit with a weekend full of workshops led by experts and supported by nationally recognized cycling brands. The WOZ Sunset Summit will get women on bikes all weekend at the Momentary Green on September 15-17, 2023. Kicking off with a welcome celebration on Friday evening, September 15, at the Momentary, guests will be introduced to Amber Bynum, Vice President, Health & Wellness Sourcing at Walmart, serving as the Honorary Chair for the 2023 Sunset Summit. Opening reception attendees can hear from event organizers and peruse Engel & Volker's WOZ ReSet, the Summit’s shopping hub of cycling gear and local goodies. ReSet partner vendors include FOX, Wild Rye, Rapha, Buckhorn, Sunny’s on Second, LIVSIN, Oracle Oasis, Specialized, Bearded Goat, Deena Eckel – Jewelry, and the Meteor Bike Shop. WOZ ReSet will be open in the Momentary courtyard throughout the weekend during the following hours: • Friday, September 15 | 1 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. • Saturday, September 16 | 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. • Sunday, September 17 | 8 a.m. - 1 p.m. On Saturday, attendees will connect and build their skills and confidence through a plethora of expert-led clinics and workshops. In addition to the roster of 34 professional coaches from across the country, the USA Cycling women’s group will be in attendance alongside new workshop presenter Cari Higgins, 23x National Champion and the first woman to hold a leadership position on the USA Cycling Board of Directors. Other programming events available include: • Panel: Anita Naidu -Anti Racism and Inclusion panel with Bike.POC, Marley Blonsky (All Bodies on Bikes), and Jacyln House (Good Day NWA) • Meditation Workshop, presented by Sunny’s on Second • How to Maintain Your Pelvic Floor, presented by Renew Physical Therapy • Taking Lead, Harnessing Courage and Confidence, presented by Skills Lab • Bike Maintenance, presented by NorthWest Arkansas Community College (NWACC) Mechanic school • Ride Prep 101, presented by Wild Rye • Air Bags, presented by Gravity NWA • What Did I Get Myself Into? All the Questions Answered for Beginners, by USAC's Cari Higgins • Women’s Health Discussion by Dr. Hurptz from Salt Health • Learn to Wheelie • Nutrition • Bike Travel and Bikepacking In the evening, participants will reconvene for a Sunset Party on the rooftop of Ledger, the first-ever bikeable building with six stories of exterior switchbacks. Attendees will enjoy a champagne toast together followed by dinner and a party on the sixth floor. Partygoers will also hear a special keynote entitled “How to Win When You Don’t” from 2x Olympian and cross-country mountain biker, Lea Davison, who is participating in this year’s WOZ Sunset Summit as a coach. Davison will discuss her quest for a third Olympics and putting her all into qualifying for Tokyo. Lea will talk about the tactics used to pick herself up after not being selected for the team, and how others can cope with feelings of failure. Additional tickets for those who are not participating in the WOZ Sunset Summit are available for $75 online. After a long day of riding and skills workshops, attendees are welcome to relax and reset in the Boiron WOZ Recovery Lounge with wellness amenities provided by Arnicare, Blake St, and Restore Wellness. The Recovery Lounge will be located at the Momentary and available to all attendees throughout the weekend.
