Upcoming Outdoor Stuff

Race the Base

Looks like another great weekend of outdoor stuff to do in Arkansas.  Here is a quick rundown:

  • www.PaddleArkansas.com – This is the first canoe and kayak race through downtown Little Rock, AR. The 7 mile race will feature prizes for all boat groups. This race draws some of the fastest paddlers in the country and some of the slowest too. The race is designed to bring awareness to paddling sports and everyone is encouraged to come out for a great event.
  • Tour de Rock – Tour de Rock is an event that caters to the cycling enthusiast and those folks just interested in having fun. This family-friendly bike ride includes food, live music, and a whole lot of fun.
Starting at the Burns Park Soccer Complex in North Little Rock, Tour de Rock includes two separate courses – a Family Fun Ride across the Big Dam Bridge and a new 100 mile Advanced Ride for the experienced cyclists with turn-arounds at 30, 50, and 62 miles.
  • Bat-O-Rama XX – Celebrate two decades of Bat-O-Rama. Special guest, world-renowned bat expert Merlin Tuttle will have the latest news in the battle against White Nose Syndrome. Programs and activities all weekend will focus on bats and their habitat here in the park. Contact the park for camping or cabin reservations and a detailed schedule.
  • Fishing Derby’s & Tournaments – Watch the professionals weigh-in or get your own fish.  This is the annual free fishing weekend in Arkansas so have at it!
